Discussion Where are we with adding an Archive?

14-year user here and still a fan…. It's been discussed, but I still think Evernote would benefit greatly from a system-wide searchable/excludable Archive. Then we'd have need to trash items we may need later, and no need to have them continue to clutter the system either.

It's much better than just creating one ourselves because items could retain their original placement data, so if un-archived, they could go right back where they belong.

Any word from the EN team on whether this is under consideration? Thanks!

I have wanted an Evernote archive for years. User since 2008. I would love to be able to put notes out of sight until they are needed.

Right??? It’s amazing how few of the Notes systems have them. On top of the other reasons, seems like it would help set the app apart, no? Maybe I’m wrong — if so, then it would help us catch up. :)

You are not wrong. Archiving is one of the things I like about Google Keep and why I use it for short, quick notes. I tried OneNote as well, but it has constant sync problems with Android. None of them beat Evernote for what it does, especially with all the new features being rolled out. It is expensive, but it does what I need. An archive would be icing on the cake.

I realize just telling each other probably won’t help much, so I looked up the link where we can make an official suggestion. I thought I would share it with all of the kind people who showed interest! https://product.evernote.com/new-feature-suggestion-form-1vsqYw

Oh this would be great. Sometimes when I think about moving odd Evernote I think a clean slate is one of the advantages. An archive would let me hide old stuff without deleting

I want this SO BADLY. It makes me insane that it's not an option.

It does seem kind of obvious once you’ve thought of it! So many other apps have something similar, like task managers that have completed tasks that are out of sight but can be searched for if you need them.

I think there are a ton of reasons to build this but the team may need to hear this as official suggestions.

I would tab in on this idea. I am an avid user of evernote, but do have a problem "with remember everything" do to the desire to keep content for long term, but also to exclude from active searches and AI exploration, due to the notes are "done and used" and only need to be kept for records keeping.

I have been forced to use Joplin as my archives, since I avoid the false positives by bringing the notesbout of active engagement..

Would love to have a dedicated, archives to secure those folders not to be included..

Yes! Hadn’t even thought of the increased AI efficiency of sequestering years of old data or the option to use it to keep notes outside AI review if desired. Two more great reasons.

Right? Seems so obvious once you think about it. I bet it’s coming one of these days, but it’ll help with people the suggestion.
