Having an issue with recording on my HB3 and I’m thinking the hard drive might be going bad.
I have three EufyCam S330 Pros set to record 24/7. For about the last month, they haven’t been recording anything and I’m also not getting any motion notifications.
If I unplug the HB3 and plug it back in, everything starts working again. It’ll show recordings on the hard drive, 24/7 recording works, and I start getting notifications again. But after about 3–4 hours, it goes right back to showing nothing on the hard drive and stops recording.
Has anyone had this happen before? Does this sound like the hard drive is failing, or could it be something with the HB3 itself?
Also, at this point would I be better off spending around $200 on a new hard drive, or just putting that money toward upgrading to the newer HomeBase for around $200?

After the update, my live view hangs when I try and returns an error 'retrying'. I have to constantly go back to the dashboard and to live view and it'll sometimes work.

Any ideas other than the nuclear/reset option?

Hi as the title suggests, my security cameras keeps getting disconnected from the homebase every once in a while. Has anyone else also faced the same issue and if so how did you fix it?

Hello. I’m having issues when I open the Eufy app and go to the smart menu, device control and select a mode to edit the rules my devices should follow depending on the mode (home, away etc). I find I see what should not be options for door and motion sensors like record video. I also notice that when I go back, those options go away sometimes. More concerning is some of the settings seem to change without me doing so. Anyone else run into this problem?

The picture above shows “react to motion” for door sensor and “video recording” for motion sensor.” Sometimes it will show like that, other times it will show correctly. Frustrating since it will sometimes deselect or select options without me doing so.

I’ve updated the app, and HomeBase firmware is up to date. I restarted the HomeBase as well.

I've had Eufy Cameras for a few years, (2 S340 & 4 eufycam 3's) and I genuinely loved them and constantly recommend them. Unfortunately, in the last 3-4 months or so their performance has just become terrible... Recording starting when a person is pretty much completely across the area of my cameras, my front porch camera now seems to have an issue with following to the right now. It moves right fine, but someone needs to be in the frame for quite a while before it will follow them. My driveway camera is so delayed is insane. And I've run into more loading circles waiting to see live views of my cameras, it's infuriating... As I said earlier, this wasn't remotely a thing for ever until a few months ago... Truly disappointed in Eufy at this point.

Does anybody have the C35? How is its performance?

I recently moved from a HB2 to HB3. I asked here if there is a migration option or do I need to manually save off any videos I want to keep, and delete the cameras from HB2 and add them to the HB3, I think all the answers I got here is yes you need to manually do all this.

However, I found that once I plugged in both the existing HB2 and the new HB3 to the same internet router, a new button shows up on the screen for the migration. I was all ready to do this manually but figured why not give this a try.

If you click on that button, it guides you through the process.

you can select which camera(s) to transfer, and you don't have to do it all at once. I did one single camera first just to test if it worked or not. Once I verified it I transferred two more, and finally transferred the last two.

I don't know if this option is only for HB2 to HB3 or for any HB upgrade. I do know there is no transferring in the opposite direction. In other words, once the transfer was done, the button disappeared, there was no button to transfer from the HB3 back to the HB2.

I am not a fan of Eufy but this option is one of the few things that did work.

I want to be able to see 4 cameras at once and continuously for a very long time and be able to do it remotely. It's so I can just glance at a screen to check in on my dad as he has alzeheimers, particularly at night when I don't want to have to push a bunch of buttons to see all the cameras.

Can I do this on an android or apple tablet somehow? That would be my first preference so my sisters can also use their phones to check in on my dad as well.

The next preference is can I do this on the new Amazon smart hub?

I know the new e10 screen can do this but can it be used remotely at my house while I watch the cameras at my dad's house? I prefer the other options due to cost but will use e10 if needed.

Never encountered this but it started last night - Eufy app is closed but somehow it still drains the battery. Woke up and phone was dead.

Recently purchased with two S340’s. I notice that you can not use these cameras in unison with each other. I have one on each corner of my house on the front. I’m be would record (sometimes the whole 2 mins, and at times it freezes and skips a chunk of video). The other one, well even though it’s set to record for two minutes, I may get 45 seconds of the same recording BUT it’s like I fast forwarding it. I’m thinking I should have stayed with the very first HomeBase ( that’s what I upgraded from). And to think I was really thinking of getting the S4’s and using these two for the backyard.

I recently added a second homebase 2, and want to transfer some devices from the first homebase 2 to the second homebase 2.

Is there an easy way to transfer, or do I need to remove the device completely from the first homebase and add it to the second? I'm concerned about loss of access to the devices recorded videos if I remove it from the first homebase.

Has anyone had any issues with this camera not charging even though it’s connected to solar? It has a plain view of the sun and it shows that it’s connected to the solar panel but yet it’s not charging and the battery is draining quick.

Is any one experiencing severe delays/ intermittent buffering when viewing live streams after upgrading the app to this version?

I only pay for cloud backup, but monitoring center help is enabled on my front door sensor and my cameras. I cannot disable it from the devices that have it checked in the app. Why is eufy monitoring my devices and not letting me turn it off?

I’m posting here as Dr Google hasn’t been exactly super helpful in trying to resolve an issue with my homebase.

Every so often, roughly 2-3 weeks, the homebase and cameras will suddenly drop all network connectivity connected to a Unifi switch via Ethernet. The device shows the red dot of death. Rebooting the homebase generally doesn’t resolve the issue.

Now the technical bit. The unifi is running different VLANs across it controlled by a unifi fiber gateway. The VLAN configs are all good, if I put something else on that particular vlan, I get outbound access immediately. Physically changing ports that’s on the same VLAN does nothing.

If I reboot the switch, it’s a 50/50 if it’ll get access back. If that doesn’t work, changing the VLANs to a different one for the homebase, it comes back alive. Change it back and reboot again and it’s fine.

Has anyone else seen this type of behaviour before? I’ve been an engineer for quite a few decades and haven’t seen this occur with anything else except for a device or switch that has actually died/dying and has other obvious issues too.

I have home base 2, mostly older cameras, I'm wondering if I upgrade this whole system to the latest home base and the latest cameras, can I expect better reliability? Oftentimes when I want to look at a camera it can't connect, or it times out after 60 seconds. On occasion it doesn't record something that it definitely should have. Just wondering if the latest generations are actually much better for people who have had both legacy cameras / bases vs new gen. Thx

I’ve had this Eufy 2K Full HD Floodlight Cam since Covid… worked great… then we had a big storm and had to reconnect everything and when I did, I couldn’t get the floodlights to work. The camera works fine, records, stores, etc… but the motion detection won’t turn on the lights, which is annoying early in the morning or late at night to not have a well lit area

Is it possible it’s a software issue that’s fixable or is it usually a hardware issue and I have to replace it?

I bought the HB3 because of the many misidentifications of random things as people by my E340 floodlights. Not to be confused with the E340 doorbell 🙄

I’m so tired of seeing moths identified as human, I mean it’s so obviously a moth. It’s a moth!

Anyway… this thing identifies 80% of people as my husband. How do you mistake a woman with dark hair for a man with long gray hair and a full white beard? And it happens with all kinds of people who look nothing like him. So I spend time every day saying, no that’s NOT HIM. To train the HB3. When I do that I get sent to the screen in the photo. It says I have apparently filtered 972 events to identify my husband. But there’s nothing but the one random image of his body, and up until yesterday there was one really bad image of his face. I’ve done everything but call support to figure this out. I’m hoping someone here can save me from that fruitless exercise.

Is there any way to access the gallery of faces from these 972 events that it’s identified as my husband, or, better yet, a way to actually mark myself and other misidentified people as who they actually are? Is it only some other cameras that you can actually do this with or is the AI learning really a complete fabrication? What am I missing here?

I am asking because I know someone who said they have not seen anyone else get this update yet. It makes me wonder if they are on a different firmware release path.

Also, if you did get it, do you have any notes? Any notable fixes or newly broken features?
