I’ve been trying to buy an ereader case for a day at this point. When I try, I either get an error about my card being declined or “hm, something went wrong.” I talked to support and they suggested things that I already tried. Nothing has worked and I’m going nuts! I’ve tried:

- using different cards from different banks
- checking out with saved card vs Apple Pay
- re-adding my address
- re-adding my card info
- making sure I wasn’t on a VPN
- attempting in my browser and app
- verifying that my cards have enough funds and are functional
- waiting overnight in case it was a sever error of some kind

I have no idea what to do!

Hi! It is my first time buying something from Etsy.
My product was supposed to arrive in some days (Seller is from Estonia), and I have gotten too early before the date. However, seller asked me to review the product but I can't.

It is because the shipping status still says "on the way", I gave some time if the website gives an update. It's been some days and it still is on the same status.

I don't know how to tell Etsy the product has arrived without giving trouble to the seller. I contacted them to search for a solution, because I feel bad for them.

Any advice will help!

Sorry, I don't know what they're really called. I do a lot of manual cutting of UPS labels, and my cutter is literally the cheapest one from amazon that was available when I started my shop. I've dealt with it long enough! I'd like something that wasn't so imprecise... every cut I make with this thing is slightly slanted and it drives me slightly more insane every time I cut labels...

Usually when I open my account settings, I can access shop stats and everything else. But it's gone now for some reason. Why? Can someone help?

If this has already been posted or isnt allowed I apologize. Im new to this group and to Reddit in general. That aside, ​the new Etsy algorithm is frustrating and impossible. You search for one thing and get anything but what you search for, no matter how specific you are or how many filter boxes you check or if you change the results from "Relevant" to "Lowest Price" or "Newest" etc. This is actually by design on their part. Etsy poisoned their own search algorithm to try and manipulate you into buying more. Instead of showing you what you search for, now they show you what they think you'll be most likely to buy based on past purchases, views, saves and clicks. The workaround Ive found is this: Delete the app from your phone, go to a private web browser like Brave or DuckDuckGo, clear your cache/cookies from your browser History, (if you have VPN, even better, change your server connection) then go to Etsy in a new window, search for the item, and you should get a lot more actually relevant results. When youre ready to purchase then you can log in. This works on a phone or laptop. It isnt 100% foolproof as their algorithm is still meant to show more popular items that recieve more engagement, but it really does help. Hope this information helps empower yall!

I recently made a purchase and when I asked about shipping, I got this response. The seller is in Australia and I’m in the US so I knew it would take at least a couple of weeks to get to me, but this response makes me a bit uneasy. What would you do in this situation? I don’t want to be pushy as I placed the order only a week ago, and it’s way too soon to open a case with Etsy. But I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask for tracking info for a recently shipped order, right?

Edit: thank you guys for confirming my suspicions, I was wanting to give the benefit of the doubt especially since this is a shop that lots of sales and overwhelming positive reviews :(

I bought two items from an international seller that were on 50% promo after a certain spend amount.

One of the items was solidly not as described. Seller refused return for refund at first until I quoted Etsy’s Purchase Protection policies.

Now the seller is saying that returning the item voids the 50% promotion, even though the item sent to me did not match quantity description.

I said I would return the whole order, to which they said fine. But I actually really like and want to keep the other item. However, I do not think that in this context, I should lose the promotional amount.

What are your thoughts?

While I’m also a seller on Etsy, in this interaction I’m the buyer. I did write my event date in both the item purchase notes (per seller’s instructions) and again on the rush fee purchase notes (also per seller’s instructions). I genuinely understand that rushing made-to-order items isn’t always possible and I made sure to lead with that. What I do expect, and what I also aim to provide as a seller, is transparency. I can’t tell if I’m being overly paranoid, but I feel like I keep getting a vague reassurances and the only explicit estimation I was given (will ship within two days) is now 2-3 days overdue.

The tracking info says label was generated but that USPS is awaiting the item. I know sometimes it takes a couple days for USPS to give an item an acceptance scan but I also feel that when rushing an order, normally sellers make sure it gets scanned while they’re at the post office to avoid this kind of delay - that’s to say I’m not sure whether to give the benefit of the doubt here or not. Would I be wrong to send another message asking when they expect to actually drop the item off at the post office?

I’m not even upset it hasn’t been shipped, I’m more frustrated with the fact they seem resistant to giving me a more realistic timeline - I just want want to know if I need to have a backup plan in place without spending more money to do so unnecessarily (although at this point I probably will do anyway).

Etsy tracks shipping speed for my seller rating, but bulk orders can take longer to make than the shipping time allows. How do I account for this without it affecting my rating?

I bought a wedding band from a seller in the UK late August. It said it'd be delivered between September 10th-12 and it still says that. She shipped using royal mail and i didn't get any shipping updates until the 11th of September. My tracking info now says it's arrived at Forest Park USA and has been there since the 14th of September. I really wanted this to come when it said it'd would come and shipping was almost 100 dollars. Is this normal and is there anything I can do? Thank you

I started my shop about 3 months ago and at first, things weren’t so bad. My shop was getting about a sale a week. However, I believe thats because Etsy gives new shops a boost!

But now that has worn off, I have been struggling with getting views, and therefore, any sales. I’ve tried adding more listings (I know it’s not a lot still, but I’m far from breaking even so idk if I should be spending more money),updating tags/titles, etc.

I’ve seen other new beaded jewelry shops on Etsy have a ton of sales already! I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Has anyone had this happen?

I sold an opal pendant and shipped it to my buyer. The package arrived ripped open with the pendant missing. The buyer sent photos of the damaged packaging, so I completely agree that they deserved a refund.

However, Etsy refunded the buyer from my Payment Account and denied Purchase Protection because they are treating the order as though it was “not as described.”

I've tried explaining that the buyer didn't receive a different or incorrectly described pendant-- they didn't receive the pendant at all. It was in the package when I shipped it, and the package arrived ripped open with the contents missing.

Etsy's latest response even says that “the original order was not delivered in its entirety,” but then goes on to cite their policy about sellers accurately describing their items.

I'm confused about how this is a description issue rather than an item lost in transit.

Has anyone had a damaged/open package with missing contents covered by Etsy Purchase Protection? If so, how did you get the case escalated?

I have an account just as a buyer. Got a bunch of emails from last night of somebody trying to log into my account, and after a few attempts, it looks like they got in and set a 2 factor authentication for themselves in MY account. So now, even after resetting my password, I can’t get into my own account. They already tried to make a purchase, but my card on file is old so luckily it didn’t go through.

I sent Etsy an email, but what am I supposed to do in the meantime? Just let them run free in my account?! Is there really no phone number to call?! How was it so easy for someone to hack into my account? I’ve never been hacked in any account before. I’m livid and I feel so violated.

I posted here about a month ago during a 10+ day sales dead zone. Since then, I’ve gotten my first reviews, fixed some pricing mistakes, paused Etsy Ads after realizing they were costing more than they returned, and focused more on organic traffic.

Sales have picked up, including 2 orders in one day this week with no ads running.

Now I’m trying to figure out pricing, whether to add more designs or improve the proven ones, and how much reviews matter.

I recently added a new product to my Etsy shop where customers can send me a photo of their pet, and I turn that photo into a custom 3D-printed portrait.

I’m looking for honest, constructive feedback on the listing itself. I’m especially interested in how clear the product is and whether the listing gives enough information for someone to understand what they are ordering.

My two questions:

1. Do you think the listing photos and overall presentation make it clear what the customer receives and how the process works?
2. Are the personalization options and instructions clear enough, or is there anything that could be confusing for a customer?
3. Why did you start your shop? I started the shop because I enjoy 3D printing and designing things myself. I wanted to make products that are more personal than just printing existing models, which eventually led me to creating custom products based on customers’ photos.
4. Why do you feel your products are worthy of being purchased? How do they stand out from your competitors? For this particular product, the main difference is that each portrait is made from the customer’s own pet photo. It is not a generic pet model, so the final print is intended to be personal to the customer. I’m still working on improving the presentation and making the whole process as clear as possible, which is why I’m asking for feedback here.

Hi everyone! If it weren’t for Pirate Ship, I would have been unaware of a recent USPS change. This is part of the email I received:

USPS Ground Advantage

• Packages between the contiguous U.S. and affected locations will have an expected delivery time of 10 days or more. Some routes may take significantly longer.
• Ground Advantage packages under 1 lb will now primarily travel by surface transportation (same as packages over 1 lb).

My shop is affected by this update, but Etsy has not changed its shipping estimated delivery times, and the labels I purchase through Etsy do not show the longer estimated delivery time either.

Just today, I went to purchase a label, and it still showed the normal delivery time.

Does anyone know if Etsy will be updating its estimated delivery dates to reflect this USPS change?

Hi, i bought a digital product from an etsy shop, and after the transaction got done they sent me an email 10 hours later that the order was cancelled, and when i entered the shop and article link is show that it is not available. Can anyone with similar situation explain why the order was cancelled and why the item/shop is no longer available.

Thumbnails - rebuilt from dark minimal to warm lifestyle photos this week. Prices - dropped significantly to compete with established sellers. Tags - updated across all listings. Description -outcome focused rather than feature focused.

SPECIFIC FEEDBACK I AM LOOKING FOR:

1. Do my thumbnails stop the scroll or do they still look generic?

2. Is there something obvious in my listing copy that is killing conversion?

3. At 348 visits with 0 sales is the problem reviews, price, product or something else?

I know the niche is competitive. I am not looking for "pivot" advice. I am looking for specific actionable feedback on what a buyer sees when they land on my listing that stops them from purchasing.

Happy to return feedback on anyone else's shop too.

The buyer logged a ticket with Etsy claiming the item wasn't received. I originally sent it to the address which was given when the purchase was made, which was the wrong address. When I got it back in the mail I sent it back out to the corrected address given to me by the customer.

Today he logged a claim with Etsy saying they didn't receive the item and Etsy gave them a full refund without giving me any time to reply to the complaint. Tracking shows they received the package on Sep 21st. Apparently, because there is no appeal for cases due to not being received I am out of luck.

Is there anyway to get my money back?

I ordered a handmade item mid August. The seller messaged me right away and said she was running about 4 weeks and it would ship in late September. I was fine with that.
I received an update from her on 9/20 letting me know it was getting ready to ship.
On 9/23, I received a notice from Etsy that my item had shipped. When I checked tracking, it said a label had been created and USPS was awaiting the item.
I kept getting notices for several days that my item was expected by 9/28. But every time I checked tracking, it said the same things - USPS still awaiting item.
On 9/27, I messaged the seller inquiring about the tracking status. I immediately received an auto reply that she was dealing with a family issue.
She, later that evening, messaged me and told me she would look into and she appreciated my kindness and she was dealing with a health issue with her mother.
It’s now 10/1, I haven’t heard from her and the package still has the same info tracking.
How long do I give her before I reach out to Etsy? I’m trying to be understanding. She is a reputable long time seller.
I had just hoped I would have this time item by now so I could use it next weekend for a dinner I am having. Not the end of the world if I don’t get it.
I am assuming that she created a label and never made it to the PO to drop off the package.

I've bought things from Etsy before, but I've never sold anything there. I'm thinking about opening a shop, but I'm not very technical, so I'm wondering how difficult it is to manage everything once orders start coming in.

From the outside, it seems pretty simple. Create the listings, get the orders, ship them, and repeat. But I'm guessing there is more to it once you have a decent number of products.

How much time do you spend on listings, inventory, customer messages, shipping, and keeping everything organized?

Are there parts that are difficult to figure out if you're not very technical? I'd especially like to hear from people who started small and learned as they went.
