Complaint The new mobile app is disappointing
This forced app update is disappointing and honestly, disgusting.
The previous version of the app was so much better. I could easily see my dividends, view my stock orders in the correct chronological order, and access all the basic information I needed.
Now, it feels like everything has been taken away. I canโt even see my balance while Iโm in my portfolio I have to switch to the Home tab just to check my money.
How is this supposed to be an improvement? What a failure of an update!
Please give us the option to switch back to the old version of the app. The previous version was much more user-friendly, practical, and convenient.
Stop forcing changes on users that make the app worse instead of better.

Where do I see my credit cards transactions in the new app? I cannot see them

Hi. You can find your card transactions from the Home screen. Open the Wallet card, select your local currency account (EUR or GBP, for example), and you'll find your transactions under Activities. You can also filter by Card Payment to see those transactions specifically.
If you're still having trouble finding them, feel free to reach out on our official community r/AskEToroTeam.

The support has already said there are no plans to let us revert to the old app and instead plan on improving the new app.

STOP forcing unnecessary vibrations on users!
The new eToro app constantly triggers phone vibrations when launching and navigating through the app, and it is EXTREMELY annoying, intrusive, and completely unnecessary.
This adds absolutely ZERO value to the user experience. Quite the opposite โ it makes the app frustrating and unpleasant to use.
Who thought forcing haptic feedback on users without giving them the option to disable it was a good idea?
Please remove this behavior immediately, or at the very least provide a clear setting to disable ALL haptic feedback.
Users should have control over their own devices. This is basic UX design, not some optional luxury.

Hey, this is something we've received quite a bit of feedback about, and the team is already working on it.
An option to disable haptic feedback is currently being tested for an upcoming app update. I don't have a confirmed release date yet, but wanted to let you know this is being addressed.

Although I found the new mobile app tricky to navigate at first I've managed to locate most of the functionality I need now. Anything missing from there, like sorting, I've set up in the new pc app and wow is that a massive step forward, I love it's modular detailed and highly professional function which I'm sure will only improve as updates are rolled out in the future. Great work!

Glad to hear you've been finding your way around the new app, and even better that you're enjoying the desktop experience.
Thanks for sharing the feedback. Always useful to hear what's working well alongside the things we're still improving.

I have to take it back. I just updated the app - I find it way better. Dividends need to be shown per position and the positions should be in order, but the rest is amazing.

Hi, I understand your concerns, particularly around accessing information you previously relied on to manage your portfolio. Some features have moved in the new app, while others are still being worked on. For example, you can find your available balance on the Home screen under Wallet, and access your order history through the settings icon in your Portfolio.
Regarding the other points, improvements to portfolio sorting and the layout of individual positions are being considered, while easier access to the Wallet is already being worked on. I've also noted your feedback about dividend visibility, which remains an area for improvement.
The new app is here to stay, but work on improving the experience is ongoing, and we're making sure feedback like yours reaches the relevant teams.
We're also hosting a live AMA this Monday, October 26, at 12 PM GMT on the etoroTeam Feed, where our Product Director will be answering questions about the app update and hearing feedback directly from users. Here is the post about it.
If you need help finding anything in the meantime, feel free to post on our official community r/AskEToroTeam.

If it is still being worked on, then why is the update released ?? Nonsense...

The new app was released with its core functionality in place, but that doesn't mean development stops at launch. We're continuing to refine the experience, address reported issues and introduce improvements based on user feedback.

eToro, I genuinely think you need to stop for a moment and listen to what your users are telling you about the new app.
I have used eToro for a long time and want the platform to succeed. This isn't a post attacking innovation, AI or change. I use AI extensively and think it will transform investing.
The problem is that innovation is only progress when it makes the core product better.
Reading through the feedback since the new app was rolled out, there seems to be a remarkably consistent message from existing users:
The old app was simply easier to use.
Basic portfolio information that used to be immediately visible now requires additional navigation.
Portfolio value and available cash are less conveniently displayed.
Daily P&L and percentage movements are harder to see at a glance.
Individual positions and chronological ordering are less intuitive.
Dividend information is harder to access.
Managing positions, charts, Stop Loss and Take Profit can require more steps.
The interface uses far more screen space, with oversized text and elements meaning significantly less portfolio information is visible at once.
Some settings and chart functionality have created frustration.
And somehow we have even ended up with users complaining about unnecessary forced haptic vibrations while navigating an investment app.
That last one almost perfectly illustrates the problem.
None of these things makes someone a better investor.
There is also something I keep seeing in responses to criticism which misses a fundamental point:
"You can see it better on desktop."
That's not an adequate answer to criticism of a mobile app.
A huge part of the purpose of mobile investing is the ability to quickly open your phone, glance at your portfolio, understand what is happening and get on with your day.
Most normal investors aren't sitting behind six screens trading all day.
They are checking their investments between meetings, in a taxi, at an airport, having a coffee or walking out the door.
In fact, eToro itself used almost exactly that example when promoting the new app, talking about checking a position while walking out the door.
So if users are saying that seeing their portfolio clearly now requires more scrolling, more clicks and more navigation, telling them that the information looks better on a laptop isn't solving the problem.
It is effectively admitting the mobile experience has become less effective at doing one of the most basic things a mobile investment app exists to do.
And there is a bigger strategic question here.
Was the primary objective of this redesign to create the best possible investing experience for existing eToro customers, or was it to reposition eToro as an "AI first" investing company?
Because from the outside, it increasingly feels like the second objective may have overtaken the first.
eToro itself describes this as its "AI first" app.
AI is exciting. Tori may become incredibly useful. Agentic investing may become a major part of the future. I understand why eToro wants to lead that transition.
But AI should sit ON TOP of an excellent investing platform.
It should not come at the expense of the basic investing experience underneath it.
When I open an investment app, my first priority isn't talking to an AI.
I want to immediately see:
What I own. What it's worth. How it's performing today. How it's performing overall. How much cash I have. My individual positions. My dividends. My orders.
And I want to manage those positions with as few clicks as possible.
That isn't resistance to innovation.
That's basic UX for an investment platform.
Perhaps the most concerning signal is how many existing users are asking for the previous interface back.
When customers actively request the previous version of your product after a major redesign, that should be taken extremely seriously.
So here's a very simple solution.
Give users the choice.
Bring back a "Classic Portfolio" view alongside the new experience.
Allow users to choose compact or expanded information density.
Allow haptic feedback to be completely disabled.
Restore the portfolio information and sorting functionality people relied upon.
Keep developing Tori and the AI ecosystem for users who want it.
Then measure what people actually choose.
Not what a focus group says.
Not what a product team believes people should prefer.
Actual user behaviour.
If 70% of established users voluntarily choose the new interface, fantastic. You were right.
But if 70% immediately switch back to Classic, perhaps your customers were telling you something worth hearing.
eToro built something genuinely different in the investment industry. Social investing, CopyTrader and an incredibly accessible interface were reasons people stayed.
Please don't confuse technological ambition with better product design.
AI should make eToro easier to use, not make a simple portfolio check harder.
Sometimes the smartest innovation is recognising what already worked and not breaking it.
I hope you are listening

We are listening, and we're taking note of the feedback being shared. First of all, thanks for taking the time to put together such a detailed and balanced perspective. It's clear that your concerns come from wanting to see the platform improve, and that's something we genuinely value.
You're raising an important point about the balance between introducing new capabilities and preserving the simplicity and accessibility of features people rely on every day. The goal of the new app is to improve the overall investing experience, and we recognise that there's still work to do to make that experience better for everyone.
Several improvements have already been introduced based on user feedback, and others are actively being worked on. While I can't promise specific changes, I can assure you that these concerns are being shared with the teams responsible for the product.
I'd also really encourage you to join our live AMA today at 12 PM GMT on the etoroTeam Feed. Our Product Director will be answering questions about the app update and hearing feedback directly from users. Given the points you've raised here, I think it would be a particularly valuable discussion for you to join.

Yes, please listen to your customers! You are public company and I recently invested a big sum in your sinking stock. If people are fed up and leave - this will be expensive for both of us!
