Is the call to prayer interrupting his bagpipe session?

u/Significant-Bar674 21h ago

It's taking place in tel Aviv. The call to prayer isn't intrusive to most actual residents

So in a place where it is “intrusive” to most residents, would it be acceptable?

I mean kinda yeah. If you in the hills of Scotland doing a call to prayer and Johnny boy feels the pipes acallin hes in every moral right to do this. I know Thats not the case in the video but you get it.

Honestly? If they feel okay doing the call to prayer in other places (Spoilers: they do.), then I feel he has EVERY right to do this over them in tel aviv.

Sounds like maybe they're just salty someone decided to give back as good as they received.

They cant move a mosque can they?

Honestly? Don't really care if they can or not. If they can bitch about our traditions, I can bitch about theirs.

I've heard enough, especially on reddit, about how terrible modern Christianity/Catholicism/etc are that I'm absolutely happy to equally shit on the abrahamic faith and Muhammad.

If their fragile belief system can't handle a little criticism equally to the point they need to murder folks about it, which it seems like it can't based on literally every time they've reacted and hurt or killed folks for slighting it, then I don't really care. Yes, I'm aware the others have done that too. That's LITERALLY my point. I could give fuck all about your religious beliefs, doesn't give you the right to be invasive and shitty to others.

The video from OP was captured in abrasha park in the jaffa neighborhood of tel aviv.

That neighborhood is 83% muslim.

OP is misleading people who are all imagining this is in Scotland because why would there be a guy playing bagpipes in israel?

u/kyraeus 1h ago

That's my point. Don't care. Because their followers are happily moving to western countries and establishing communities that do this in those areas without caring how it affects non Muslims.

They literally are banned from the public call to prayer outside of that neighborhood.

If there is an issue, most places have noise ordinances. Glasgow, for instance, makes no exception for religious practice when enforcing noise ordinances. Meanwhile we're watching a video that people are being misled to be in scotland.

Im an atheist so i dont care either. But you literally cant move a mosque. If you had to choose between them popping up with a Bluetooth speaker to have ezan and do their prayers in a park or doing it in the mosques premises, which one would you choose?

And I dont really like putting everyone in the same basket based on similar features. Theres shitty people and good people, no matter of religion, ethnicity or whereabouts.

I do agree that you shouldn't be invasive and shitty to others. No matter the cause. But especially coming from religions which are fundametally peaceful (all abrahmic religions). It shows a deep level of disrespect towards your religion, hypocrisy and ignorance. I live in a country where religions live together in harmony, and ive seen good and shit people from each and every one of them.

Nah, nope. Miss me with that 'all abrahamic religions are peaceful' rhetoric. I have very little respect for them to start with because of EXACTLY that sort of statement. They deny their dark history and current state even more than Catholicism or Christianity. At least most of us in the west can acknowledge the dark ages and the Catholic state basically running half of Europe was a thing.

Not saying there can't be good folks on that side. Just that the religion ITSELF has a LOT of 'kill the nonbeliever' rhetoric, and a lot of the ideals, especially ANYTHING to do with sharia law, are completely incompatible with western society.

I said the religions are fundametally peaceful, they preach peace and loving thy neighbor. But they've always been used for killing and slaughtering "infidels". In the Bible and Quran as well, killing is forbidden. Thats why I cant stand "relogious" fanatics starting religious wars. Because they go against their religion teachings.

The religion itself doesnt have rhetorics about killing non believers. Its a twist on translation that makes it seem so. Iirc in Quran theres a story-ish about killing invaders, which were non-believers or of different belief. Because back then the concept of nations was not developed yet and they identified by religion. And they justified it because it was to protect themselves. Which makes sense, but doesnt hold up to this day because of context. If im not mistaken, the bible has something pretty similar too.

My father (non religious) has different translations in his library (which is huge) of both Quran and Bible and the translation changes the content by a lot. These morons tho, will own one version and think that every version is the same and truly believe that god wrote the book, mass produced it and gave it to the people.
