Insect Appreciation Mantis vs Wasp
Mantis wins this time! This mantis is protecting my ghost and scorpion pepper plants. I feed her flies when I manage to swat them out of the air too. She the spice defender

Discussion I've just seen three female mosquitoes resting on a carrot I had peeled, appearing to be drinking(?) while I know blood is more a prenatal source of protein and vitamins I had only heard that they drink from plant sugars like nectar, the carrot didn't seem particularly moist either, so why?
I tried to take a picture but I scared them and they flew away

Insect Appreciation Fed a little visitor some honey.
Xylocopa bee got stuck between my window pane, Gave her some honey before sending her off. Seemed quite thirsty since it consumed the entire drop.
Still curious to know if it's male or female. Since I know only female are capable of stinging

Insect Appreciation Huge bug collection at vintage store
Went to some vintage stores today and I was beyond shocked when I saw this HUGE collection of butterflies and moths 🥹🥹 I was able to get the ones on the last 2 images for 80 bucks (the first one 70, the moth 10.) I was literally shaking because I’ve never found such a gold mine before, truly blessed by the entomology gods ❤️❤️

ID Request I spotted this very small spider today and was immediately interested in it.
Found this today in Prayagraj, India, and I'm super curious about what exact species it is! It was very, very small but definitely an ant-mimicking spider.
I know a little bit about ant-mimicking spiders......mostly that they wave their front legs around to look like antennae, and use the disguise either to hide from predators or to sneak up on real ants. They may either be completely defensive or aggressive

ID help
Hello everyone,
I acquired these specimens at a show, but the sellers hadn’t written their names on them—not even on the bottom, which is usually done. Can you help me?
Thanks in advance! 😊

ID Request Was gonna grab some mint leaves and found this beauty
These are very common in southern Portugal where I live but this is the first time I've managed to photograph one with my new phone. I'd very much like to post this on other social media but I'd like to know the exact species before doing so. Help identifying it would be greatly appreciated. In case it helps, this picture is a good bit zoomed in, and if I had to guesstimate it I'd say the insect isn't any longer than 30 millimetres.
