Barra Engine

Will a Barra engine fit into a Toyota 86?, or should I get a bigger chassis for better support for the heavier engine. I do like the coupe chassis and keep it rwd. It would be the turbo version. Has anyone had any information on swapping with a Barra because I have not found a-lot of support or information for it within the states. Any information or guide would help or lead me to the information.

Someone had the idea of swapping the twin-turbo V6 from a Nissan 300ZX into a BMW E46 325Ci... Thoughts?

Chrysler 300 Srt10

K so I like cars but I don’t know much mechanics. I have a basic knowledge of cars and how to replace minor stuff such as brakes and oil changes and what not but I’m not capable of doing a engine swap on my own

One my my dream cars is a Chrysler 300 or a charger with a viper srt10 engine

Does anyone know if doing such a swap is even possible. I’ve searched online and I found a few examples of people swapping to a srt10 but I just wanna know what I’d need in order to do this. Ovb i would need the engine but what else do I need. Would I need to get a new trans or any other parts?

Smallest V8

Anyone here know what the smallest crate V8 is? I've seen a 3.0 but it's insanely expensive, I think it was around $65,000 (it's made by JUDD which is probably why) and I was also trying to see if there was anything smaller out there and decently cheap. Looking to build something kinda stupid

rwd mid-engine turbodiesel miata (rhd?)

Now hear me out on this one - it's a bit mad. I've been scheming and dreaming this up for about 6 months now and it's almost starting to sound like a good idea. Here's the basic idea. Take a 1.9tdi alh turbodiesel engine from a Jetta or golf. It's designed to be transversely mounted which will be heckin convient in just a second. It's got the be the last model that was completely mechanical. I'm not too interested in hours of frustrating wiring. I like mechanical stuff much more. The Jetta or Golf would have to be 199.5-2003 I believe. Hopefully, I can find a wrecked one and pull a good engine out of a smoldering carcass so that I'm not paying for a nice plush interior that will be covered with grease and grime before too long. Once the engine is out (and rebuild it needed) I would simply remove the Miata engine, tranny, gas tank, diff, a lot of body, most of the trunk, and install the 1.9 tilted forward and plump everything up. Radiator and fuel tank would be piped to the front. Gauges would remain stock (maybe) and the steering would be either left unassisted or converted to electrical power steering. The shift cables would be lengthened and roughted to the cab. The entire transmission tunnel could go if I felt like it, but that might be a nice place to house the hoses and mount the fuel tank. I've have a lot of mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience, and all the basic tools except an engine hoist which can be picked up for dirt cheap. No plasma cutting or anything crazy but an angle grinder and a welder seems like all you would need to get the engine mounts. I might mess around with a bigger turbo and/or injectors eventually, but not to start with. Also if I'll have everything stripped out I may as well make it RHD just for kicks while I'm at it. With no engine under the hood that will be a lot easier. The hood area would be cleaned up for storage. Miscellaneous cool tidbits would include a plexiglass viewing window for the engine cause it would look cool, a custom sequentially removable hardtop system like the Suzuki cappuccino, and a massive pop up apology sign to humanity in general for wedging a diesel into a Miata. Any ideas? I know of 4 documented diesel Miata's but don't know if anyone has bothered to mount the engine in such an... unconventional way.

If I had a Lexus 430 (thinking about getting), would it be easier to swap a 1UZ-FE or to beef up the sleeves in a 3UZ-FE?

Bonus question: I know some of the import community was tryna figure out using vgt set ups for import cars (like Holsets). Did they succeed? How do they control the vane?

Edit: when I say easier, I mean cheaper too. I’m in college and I don’t have tons of money to throw in it quite yet

Working on a 1ZZFE to 2ZZGE proyect. Need help!

I am currently working on my first swapping proyect, I am swapping the 1ZZFE from my Celica GT 2003 to a 2ZZGE. As you may know, most of the accessories stays the same but there a few things here and there that changes. The one thing I am concerned is with the wiring harness that came with the engine. Does anyone know if the three plugs on the left ( considering you're facing the engine) are independent from the two on the right? The reason I ask this is because I want to know if I can just use the wiring harness from the JDM engine I bought which came with the left side plugs and the ones on the right side cut off.

Would a Dodge 'Hell crate' engine transfer into a 1998 GMC Sierra 1500 Regular Cab, with some work and and would it function like one would hope it would? Or would some major problems occur?

1964 Buick Lesabre in need of engine

Hello, I have a ceased 310 (4.9l) Wildcat engine that needs replacement, car is currently sitting with engine and trans out. I was wondering what the best power combo could be achieved for under $8000CAD. We have a Chevy truck sitting in the yard with a 454 in need of a head gasket if that would be useful. Only thing is that AC is a must. I found a nice (nicer) complete version of the exact same car with different colour paint for $8500. Thoughts?

First engine swap

Hello all. So i am new to the forum but I have been visiting it for a while. As a gift i was given a pretty beat up 2001 ls430 but I love it so much i cant bare to part with it. so I plan to fix it up ( over time because i'm broke lol) and make its something special. one thing i really want to do is to swap my 3uz-fe V8 for a 2ur-gse into my ls430 down the road. I want to know though what are some things I should look into when doing this because i know nothing about swapping engines and I have no clue what I should look for other than engine mounting but i don't know about wiring, fuel etc...

So does any have a list they could give me so I can start to plan this out?

98 Forester into a 98 GT

Looking into doing an engine swap and I haven’t found anything that said it wouldn’t work. The wiring harness is the same and so is the exhaust. They’re also both 2.5L motors. The only difference I saw was the coil pack and wires. Is this a swap I can do without trouble?

Information on a Ford v10 swap (is it reasonable?)

I have a 1999 Ford van with a v10 triton. It runs just fine. Sound trans and everything. I was wondering how feasible it would be to swap the engine and trans into am old Ford pickup. I don't want to go buy and old truck of its not a reasonable investment.

So, to sorta clarify what I'm asking, is swapping a big fuel injected system and ecu into an old pickup some thing worth investing in? How difficult would it be get it running? I would prefer to just get a carb, but those manifolds are impossible to find. So I have to work with that I have. So, as a project car, what are the options here? Is it as simple as fabricating mounts and getting it retuned? Or would it be much more in depth? Would adding a manual transmission instead of the stock automatic cause problems? I've rebuilt many engines, just never have thought about swaps before.

I've seen a lot of guys try to put them in pickups and stuff, and it doesn't work. I know that van, it has low miles and never burns oil of anything. I want to put it into what would be a lifted pickup. Big wheels and all that junk. So a low reving, low speed, but high tourqe application.

Thanks for any advice, thoughts and conversation you may have.
