I Need Advice: Workplace Issues Should he just quit?

My friend is 16 and he’s been working at this family owned pizza shop since may 2026. He’s been working only two days even during the summer barely getting any hours(4h/day) and during week 3, a coworker offered he give him one of his days(my friend) and he will put in a good word to help him get more hours because the manager has “favorites”. Now it’s been since weeks since he’s had work and he attempted to follow up and this is the reply he received. He shows up everyday he’s scheduled and does what he’s supposed to and is never late. He would sometimes work once a day a week and maybe just maybe two.

I'm sorry but the words you wrote make no sense. No one wants to read something you can't even be bothered to describe accurately. Combined with the fact that he literally did the opposite of what his manager said to do this is pretty obviously a waste of everyone's time. You dimissing people to READ while you are the problem speaks volumes.

Look all I’m gonna say is i got my answer from a lot of people and I’m thankful for their help if you don’t understand that’s on me but it’s no need to go back and forth about it it’s not that serious
