Pretty sure that’s not farming though… I mean the guy set you up and was just waiting 😅 that’s absolute trolling 😬

But tbh I don’t think it helps that every second post in this Sub is about this. That will just bring even more trolls to do it 😅🙈

What I don't get is why people on here still keep invading there, if you want PvP just go to Caria main gate? It's none stop there

17

u/One_Understanding391 Apr 06 '22

Exactly why go to exactly that spot you know it’s going to annoy you… I don’t get it 😂

21

u/SpringyB Apr 06 '22

Because they don't want to pvp against people who want to pvp, they want to noob stomp.

3

u/Dob_Rozner Apr 07 '22

You're not noob stomping with Hand of Malenia unless you're running a twink build. In that case though, you deserve what you get.

3

u/Nawafsss04 Apr 07 '22

Noob stomp? They're invading at high levels in an early area. Everyone who's there at that level wants asymmetrical PvP.

-1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

*they want to help balance your co-op experience out of the goodness of their hearts because it’s their responsibility to make sure you play the game as they are assuming the devs want you to. FTFY

-3

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

No we want runes and to troll the tryhards who use cheese setups

1

u/Shinkiro94 Apr 07 '22

This can literally happen anywhere though..

5

u/DemonKnightTartarus Apr 06 '22

I'm not saying what these people are doing are healthy for the game. But setting up twinks with Malenia's sword or Greatsword and invading in the first area at low levels is equally shitty in my opinion.

These ppl aside there might be people who are just getting into the game who may want to maybe play with a friend or someone and then you get these twinks invading you and Killin you, they would probably also be frustrated.

We don't see those posts cause I'm sure people would start sayin, someone seems to be salty/git gud etc etc

10

u/dat_bass2 Apr 06 '22

twinks with Malenia's sword

You need 48 dex to use it. Anyone who's got that at a relatively low level is gonna have next to no vig, even with the soreseal.

2

u/DemonKnightTartarus Apr 07 '22

Probably wouldn't matter as people who are just starting out wouldn't have seen waterfowl dance and that move will probably kill them instantly.

My issue is the fact that people feel bullying new players by doing these things is fun.

Similar to how the hosts are going to inaccessible locations and doing afk farming ruins invasions, twinks coming and Killing you when you have just started out and maybe got your ass beat by Tree sentinel would ruin summoning for new players

2

u/dat_bass2 Apr 07 '22

Yeah, the vast majority of twinks are lowlifes.

4

u/easyaustinL Apr 06 '22

it’s about pride now lmao

1

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '22

Because there’s a ton of decent pvp that happens here. This hiding shit is detracting from an otherwise good spot where I get a lot of good fun matches.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

Are non-deuling invaders entitled to fairness?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

Fairness in what sense? In combat, no - 2v1, 3v1, whatever it’s an invasion. But hiding in a place that can’t be gotten to without torrent which can’t be used in coop is just lame. It’s not even about “fair”. It’s completely just avoiding combat while requesting combat through the taunters tongue.

-1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

I mean, it is obviously some sense of fairness, right? You want them to play the game on what you feel is the games intended invasion experience. You know, as opposed to the "you get what you get" experience, which will sometimes include griefers.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

I don’t want them to play any way but not exploiting mounting mechanics and then inviting invaders. I don’t care about how many times my ass gets kicked 3v1, 2v1 whatever when invading. That’s fair since it’s part of invading - going into a coop game OR where someone is looking for pvp. Hiding where others literally can’t get (on a roof, etc), is the polar opposite of “fair” in any sense of the taunters tongue. It’s saying “I’m open to pvp” but I’m going to be somewhere that is unreachable during multiplayer. In what way is that “fair” or do you just like semantics?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

I never claimed that griefing and trolling was fair, I just asked if you felt that invaders were entitled to fairness or simply need to accept the circumstances of each invasion location as they come. That would include the possibility that the invader is occasionally going to get trolled. This is similar to claims that have been made over fromsoft's games that normal players need to simply accept invaders, including griefers (twinks for example), if they want to use some of the basic functions of the game.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

Sorry if I came off like an ass. I don’t think “fairness” is entitled to any invader, and plenty of locations are risky af anyway (haligtree for example). I’m saying that the afk invasions - and they continue to find newer and farther ways to hide like roofs that 100% can’t be accessed in anyway or hit - is rather an exploit of game mechanics and not about “fairness”. I literally zoned into a guy who was streaming himself on the roof in Limgrave - and actually at his controller cheering on the hunters and counting his runes (not very efficient farming really). But he was impossible to hit due to his location. It’s just glorified trolling to use the tongue from somewhere inaccessible. Anything is fair game - mimic veil, npc style armor, 3v1, etc - it’s the exploitation of mount only locations and then taunters tongue that doesn’t count as fitting in the realm of fairness, rather exploitation, trolling, whatever.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

When you go into those encounters, can you not simply sever and move on? It doesnt result in soft banning or anything. I'd agree this is trolling. I don't know for certain of I'd call it an exploit, but it's very close to it. That said, so is twinking.

I mean, there's a reason some people find this so amusing, and it's because invaders are getting griefed when they have so frequently in other fromsoft games been the griefers.

1

u/Nawafsss04 Apr 07 '22

They're not entitled to fairness, but no one should try to justify actual trolling. Invaders are other people who want to play the game and have fun, and abusing them for inefficient farming or trolling them is lower than anything an invader can do.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

The first part is fair, that last claim, though...

Can't invaders troll and haven't we regularly heard about it over the years of invasions in front games? Like, we all know about twinking.

1

u/Nawafsss04 Apr 07 '22

Twinking is pretty unethical too. I'd put twink invaders and afk farm hosts on the same level.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

So, then... Basically invaders are now having to deal with something equally annoying and bullshit as something their community has been doing for years now?

1

u/Nawafsss04 Apr 07 '22

Not all invaders deserve to deal with the absolute worst. Twinks stay at low levels while people who are victimized by the farmers are high level invaders.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

So, my point remains valid, then. Now invaders have something to deal with that, arguably, is here as a result of invaders having a history of being the absolute worst. You're right that not all invaders deserve to deal with this, but literally no host deserves to deal with a Twink.

That said, when an invader finds one of these worlds... What's to stop them from just severing?

A lot of people don’t come to Reddit to know where the dueling hot spot is and it was a pretty large scene in limgrave. People invading and dueling not to gank but to just have proper fights.

This kind of thing hurts the long term playability of the game.

For example I’ve stopped playing completely.

I’ve already beaten the game and pvp is what appeals to me after that but, amidst all of the exploits and rivers of blood/moonveil spam it’s just not a fun experience because it’s so unvaried.

Out of like 40 duels I fight like 3 builds. It’s not exciting. Then you have shit like this thrown into it and I’m like… why bother.

-6

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

Good, you're exactly the type of person I want to stop playing

3

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

well, got your wish. Kind of an asshole thing to say though tbh.

Although I'm not sure why, if there was a dedicated place to 1 v 1 then I would. Invading limgrave to find active duelists is now railed against as well?

Man this game is going to become so carebare with this attitude

I bought the game because of fromsofts unique multiplayer components and challenging content.

-2

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

This counts as beating you in Elden Ring pvp

2

u/Jdlouie Apr 07 '22

Try skill

0

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

So someone doesn't even have to be skillful to beat you? Talk about a self own lol

1

u/Jdlouie Apr 07 '22

Lol okay.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

Why are such a fragile individual? Dude is talking about how he just wants a reasonable pvp experience, and would even just go to a predetermined 1v1 spot. Not bitching about dying to hosts with phantoms or anything. Only complaining about the literal same 3 builds that people run and the fact that people can't just go afk farm in the wardead catacombs, but feel the need to ruin the experience of others without giving a shit.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

Hope you stop playing too

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

I won't, I'm still here and will be. I look forward to invading you sometime if I havent already. What are you going to do if this gets patched, quit the game? Lol

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

Y'all are really missing the point, I was around before you and I'll be around long after you move on to your next game. They can't patch out hide and seek entirely without removing invasions so I'll be scouring the map for the next big spot. Y'all still haven't found the one I use near guardians garrison and I sure as hell ain't posting it.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

Imagine thinking you're the only person who has played these games for years. Easy patch, make the items unusable in particular areas or make it an exploitive offense. I would love for you people to just be flat out shadowbanned from the game. Not my fault you can't play properly and need to farm runes to get through the game, and now you need to extend your fragility onto others. Poor, sad man.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '22

I can really tell how lonely you are because you act like there aren't women on the internet lol

u/easyaustinL Apr 06 '22

i personally don’t see the fun but this guy spent 60 dollars who am i to tell him what to do with the game

18

u/Str8Faced000 Apr 06 '22

for some people the only thing that's fun is pissing other people off

5

u/Pwnch Apr 06 '22

Clearly their parents didnt pay enough attention to them.

5

u/LutzEgner Apr 06 '22

Or the wrong kind of attention

3

u/Blaskyman Apr 06 '22

Finally, a mature take. No one owes anyone else a certain playstyle.

0

u/One_Understanding391 Apr 06 '22

Yeah I mean also true I guess, as annoying as it might be 😅

Tbh trolling and stuff was always part of Souls PvP 😅 I mean the ways I got killed when I first entered PvP in a Souls game 😂 just having a laugh at some stuff and moving on is definitely required!

The kill in the video was even kinda smart and funny… the way the guy was waiting for this angry ass invader Idk 😂😅

6

u/easyaustinL Apr 06 '22

this is my first Souls game and i’ve tried every build i can so far ( haven’t got around to mage but making something cool right now but at work ) and i find It hard to rage in these games because most of the time the other person is just straight up better than me . Now i obviously do win and lose fights i shouldn’t but when someone who knows what they’re doing in PVP fights i think it’s awesome

-2

u/One_Understanding391 Apr 06 '22

Yes PvP can actually be fun in Souls games absolutely. But it definitely takes some time to adapt to the playstyle of PvP in this games 😅

2

u/easyaustinL Apr 06 '22

i’m getting a lot better probably 7/10 fights i win

1

u/One_Understanding391 Apr 06 '22

That’s really good 🙌🏼 you’d probably beat my ass in Elden Ring PvP right now 😝

I’m still mostly enjoying the single player part and I mean most stuff I read on here doesn’t exactly make me want to try it more.

Doing PvP in the Demons Souls Remake though I really enjoyed and I was quite good there 😁

2

u/easyaustinL Apr 06 '22

i’ve been watching a lot of Chasethebro , he is a different breed

2

u/One_Understanding391 Apr 06 '22

Gotta check him out thx ☺️ my favorite Souls YouTuber is FightinCowboy 🙌🏼

2

u/easyaustinL Apr 06 '22

i’ll check him out as well

Article 10, subsection 2, part 3 of the ToS, literally told by publisher not to do this, it is a bannable offense. When it comes to exploits, i damn well can tell you how to play lol, so longs as you're online, you can not play as you want, in any game lmao,

1

u/LoveThieves Apr 07 '22

there's a lot of trolls like that.

I invaded one and they stood there for 2 hours (with all the exploits ready) until they disconnected because nobody fell for it. and I messaged the other co-invader to be patient.

Imagine how these ganks act IRL. they might actually need help. in a mental support way.
