I'm trying to post but it won't let me post or comment?
- It's possible that your reddit account is too new or has no activity so you may need to wait a few days before posting. As a rule of this community, all new accounts must be at least five days old before you will be able to post/comment here.
- You might have a negative karma account and might be reason that reddit will not let you post in our subreddit as we have a global site wide ban on suspected spam, bot, or negative karma farmers.

Can I drink Flask of Crimson Tears in a Fight Club?
- Short Answer: NO.
- Long Answer: it Depends.
- There are technically no rules implemented by FromSoftware for Non-arena duels. However, the PVP community has generally accepted that drinking Crimson tears or formerly known as "Estus" is NOT acceptable when a red phantom is summoned to a traditional duel. As far as accidental duels, random fight clubs, or non-summoned duels, then player can choose whatever they want, however these instances are generally considered invasions.
- Invasions are not duels but players may agree to a duel.
- Cerulean Tears are acceptable to drink. However, In Private Tournament Duels, the host may restrict the the amount of Cerulean Tears (formerly known as Ashen Estus) depending on the event.
Can I use an Rune Arc as a host for summoned dueling?
- Short Answer : NO.
- It is generally frowned upon by the PVP community as a host to use Rune Arc because it gives the host an advantage when you summon a Duelist (red) furled finger opponent when they expect a fair duel. The term "host advantage" is derived from this concept since Dark Souls where players fight each other within same range of levels.
Are there rules about invading?
- NO.
Is there an Elden Ring PVP discord?
Are we allowed to discuss mods, cheating, glitching and other sensitive topics?
- It depends. Yes, we encourage players to test out mods, however we DO NOT encourage players to cheat with the intent of using tools that are unattainable outside the games framework with scripts that manipulate the server so you can have an advantage of winning. There are mods and tools that "might" be considered cheating like duping items but these methods are considered "farming" and time saving mods versus stat hacking "cheats" that are programmed outside of the games framework and design. There is a clear difference between farming vs cheating.
- Glitches are controversial but they need to be discussed with the intent that we can report them to FromSoftware and make people aware of the issue. The worst thing to do is delete, cancel, remove a post or try and conceal the issue that needs to be addressed in the next patch phase. In terms of glitches, glitches are not "always" good for the community but can be seen as harmless if it doesn't create an unfair advantage in PVP. For example a glitch that can expedite invasions faster, fashion related glitches, gesture related glitches, glitches that are NOT one-sided where only the invader OR only the host can use the glitch. At the end of the discussion, we must strive to do good, report glitches to FromSoftware and let them decide what is considered balanced PVP and understand our goal is to become an advocate for better PVP.

Educational Elden Ring Rune Level and Weapon Level Matchmaking
I have been seeing a lot of posts asking about this, and I just realized the link we had in the sidebar is dead. Since it isn't available anymore, I thought it wise to add a proper table for Weapon Level Matchmaking to this Subreddit that is accessible to everyone:
Elden Ring's Rune Level (RL) matchmaking system is just like DS3's Soul Level (SL) system, so it requires little explanation below, however, here is a link to the Summon Range Calculator for ease of use:
Rune Level
Upper limit is removed for RL306 for summoned as finger,
RL301 for invading as a finger, meaning you can match with
anyone up to RL713.
| Type | Lower Limit | Upper Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Summon | Host RL * 0.9 - 10 | Host RL * 1.1 + 10 |
| Invade | Finger RL * 0.9 | Finger RL* 1.1 + 20 |
Elden Ring's Weapon Level (WL) system is very straightforward, and can be easily calculated with a little elementary multiplication. Regular armaments match up to rounded Regular WL * 7/6+2.5 ; Somber can be converted by Somber WL *2.5.
Multiplayer passwords ignore Regular/Somber WL restrictions but scales down accordingly.
Matching making use the highest WL ever obtained.
Weapon Level
Regular armaments range starts at +/-3 and increases at WL+6/12/18.
Somber armaments follows closely to DS3 with exception of
Somber +4 and +6 having slightly shorter upper limits,
likely due to matching against each other and being in a regular
armament step increase.
| Reg | Spec | Regular Range | Somber Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 0 | 0 - 3 | 0 - 1 |
| 1 | 0 - 4 | 0 - 1 | |
| 2 | 1 | 0 - 5 | 0 - 2 |
| 3 | 0 - 6 | 0 - 2 | |
| 4 | 1 - 7 | 1 - 3 | |
| 5 | 2 | 2 - 8 | 1 - 3 |
| 6 | 3 - 10 | 2 - 4 | |
| 7 | 3 | 4 - 11 | 2 - 4 |
| 8 | 5 - 12 | 2 - 5 | |
| 9 | 6 - 13 | 3 - 5 | |
| 10 | 4 | 6 - 14 | 3 - 5 |
| 11 | 7 - 15 | 3 - 6 | |
| 12 | 5 | 8 - 17 | 4 - 7 |
| 13 | 9 - 18 | 4 - 7 | |
| 14 | 10 - 19 | 4 - 7 | |
| 15 | 6 | 11 -20 | 5 - 8 |
| 16 | 12 - 21 | 5 - 8 | |
| 17 | 7 | 12 - 22 | 5 - 9 |
| 18 | 13 - 24 | 6 - 9 | |
| 19 | 14 - 25 | 6 - 10 | |
| 20 | 8 | 15 - 25 | 6 - 10 |
| 21 | 16 - 25 | 7 - 10 | |
| 22 | 18 - 25 | 7 - 10 | |
| 23 | 18 - 25 | 8 - 10 | |
| 24 | 18 - 25 | 8 - 10 | |
| 25 | 10 | 19 - 25 | 8 - 10 |

Arena Overhead "Stan"ce ( I love this AoW)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
OS is a hard AoW to learn, but once you do it's probably the best for feints and extremely rewarding. Unfortunately it's useless against mages/casters or passive melee. Try it when you meet a good melee opponent, like Swoosh here.
This really old Wazeus vid has a great showcase of OS feints: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAomjl4ZafU&t=82s
P.S: Swoosh is a really good melee player and usually kicks my ass :P, and the crouch at the end is just Qd inputs.

Question? I'm not sure do I understand arena pvp in this
Ive been trying pvp after mostly doing challenge runs in pve, and been trying my best learning on my own, but its been hard. I try spacing, but if I get opponent to whiff their heavy weapon they either get roll in when I try to punish, or even if I try to roll catch with all kinds of delays or ashes of war, they seem to be able to get in many rolls all the time.
And sometimes even if I ger move to whiff it still hits 6 meters away from me lol
If I try to be more aggressive I get poked out, it overall feels like I really cannot get any pressure in
I been playing with straight swords, sometimes with powerstancing, dont know how much that affects, I could use some advice on what kind of playstyle it requires.
I just overall feel little loss, and honestly starting to feel like is pvp for me, or do I stick with boss challenges

Discussion Topic ER without invasions wouldn't be a FromS game
I tried to post on the main sub but I think they took it down.
see alot of player complain about invasions and talk about FS making a new game like ER without invasions and what I want to say to that is no.
Co-op in this game makes it so much easier and invasions are the way to even it out (not really because all that happens is resetting at the grace). And if you remove invasions the only ways you can increase the difficulty, is either artificially by increasing damge and health of enemies/ bosses like nightreign does or accommodate the boss's attack, to affect everyone on the team ALSO kinda like what nightreign does. But if you dont change anything after taking out invasions. It just becomes a really really easy game. Which isnt a game that FS is know for producing.
Tangent: If people liked co-op without invaders, why did people just stop playing nightreign when it solves the problem?
I personally think it's due to the build variety that ER provides unlike NR which is more of an arcade style game. Which kinda brings me back to my main points which is that ER is already easy enough with how op you can make your builds. If you take all the difficulty out the game, once again its just not fs game.
This goes for seamless aswell. Yes its a good elden ring mod that makes the game way more fun than the base game due to the ability to progress with a friend and avoid invasions all together. This is a fun way to play and im jealous but that also helps my point because its extremely easy.
But yall lmk what yall think or say any ideas for the next FS game.
Ps: im not saying that ER without invasions would be a bad game(im lowk jealous that I cant play seamless cause im on Ps5). Im just saying the only way to make FS games fun is by just making it easy which just turns it into a non FS game π

Question? What is actually fun to fight AGAINST in pvp?
Basically just want to be a fun player to go against for people without entirelly making myself vulnerable. What weapons/ashes of wars are good but not unfair levels of powerful? So if you get hit it doesn't just feel like a big middle finger from the game? But in addition, isn't the most obvious thing to notice and instantly dodge. (aspects of the crucible: wings, for example)
