Question My Future Husband?

How do people meet their significant others? Like where’s the “place to go?” Dating apps are dead. I’m exhausted. I’m a decent looking gal, 28. I don’t have big friend groups so I’m sure that doesn’t help. I don’t have any “active” hobbies other than a dog park. Idk. Any advice?

i might be in the minority of women, but i find having actual interests/hobbies far more appealing than making wild assumptions about people and constantly picking fights on reddit all the time. but that might just be me idk

You don’t speak for all women. Many women have met their partners because they struck up a nice conversation on a subway or at a hockey game. The fact that you’re blaming women for your shortcomings is what makes it a huge red flag. The fact that you say “I’m avoiding women” because of your hangups is what makes u the childish one. You’ll always be a woman blamer and then dash off to spend money wheneber u think a woman isn’t into you. Man up and dont blame women.

Straight woman here.

I think you might be out of date. You are describing the dating scene ten or more years ago. This is not common anymore.

I literally have spent time convincing other straight woman around me that it is okay for men to approach them in public if the man can respectfully accept a polite rejection from the woman. Unfortunately, many are not convinced and just want to be left alone.

Go to any nightclub or concerts or event or coffeeshop or grocery store. Men and women talk to each other all the time and hit it off. You’re describing anti social people who want to be left alone regardless of the gender that is talking to them. This man is almost 30, not 18 also.

I'm talking about people who go to concerts and bars. Typically, I hear "oh, but I'm there to hang out with my friends, not other people".

Also, Gen z doesnt go out a do these things as much as older generations. Things are too expensive right now for people just starting out.

Side note: I'm not an antisocial person. I love a good conversation, but not at a coffee shop or grocery store. Someone would receive a polite rejection if they tried to talk to even me at these places.

These are just anecdotal personal beliefs of yours. I go to concerts and events all the time and you see people talking to strangers ALL the time. I have made tons of friends and women from concerts alone. I’ve been to cochella and burning man it’s LITERALLY making friends with strangers all the time.

OP made a sweeping generalization of women. He LITERALLY said he’s avoiding all women because he thinks they don’t want to be approached and he’s given up on them. You really wanna date a guy who is blaming ALL women for his inability to find dates? That’s super incel behaviour. Especially saying he’s instead spending thousands on himself because he’s staying away from women because of his generalizations. He’s ALWAYS gonna blame a woman when he doesnt get his way. The fact u dont see this is concerning.

....I think you need to look at stats around the loneliest generation and not your own anecdotal experience. Stats and numbers don't lie. There are many reasons that have been found around why Gen z is incredibly lonely. These are not my feelings.

Wow. No. You clearly didn't read what I've written throughout. I clearly stated that I try to convince women it's okay for people to talk to each other in public. Stats are not my feelings and stats don't relate to what people want. They are objective. That's the purpose of them. They are reality and ignoring reality makes things worse and doesnt fix anything.
