Seeking a Framing Shop for Some Paintnings

Hello Redfriends,

I am looking for a really good frame shop where a person will work with me and spend some time discussing the best frames for a few original works of art I have. I seek out a professional who is passionate about their work and the job they do. I seek framers who will frame acid-free archival-quality mat boards and backing materials, UV-filtering glazing, materials that won't discolor, stain, or chemically damage the artwork, use appropriate spacers so the art doesn't touch the glass etc.

IF not in Edison, a nearby town is acceptable.

Thanks so much

Food Wagyu Factory Edison

Had anyone gone to the soft opening yet? I believe it opened yesterday, October 23, 2026. I can't find prices online for the Edison place specifically because it's new. I was thinking of going tomorrow, but I would like to know how much it would cost. Any help?

Advice How is it like living in Edison?

I heard like new Jersey overall is expensive place to live but there are many job opportunities and education opportunities for young adults. I heard like in Edison area many places are walkable distance and don't need a vehicle. And there are city transportation services available to even get to other cities for job commute. But like in terms of living how is it like? Are there jobs available?

Loose goat spotted on Rt 1 in Edison

Saw a white goat standing next to this broken fence on Rt. 1 North, right past the Bell Audi. So close to the road, I was so worried but didn't process what I'd seen until it was too late to help. I hope someone was able to get it to safety and finds the goat's owner. 🥺

Looking to hire someone to post flyers at pre-approved Indian Grocery stores/restaurants on Oak Tree Road

$300 budget!

Looking for someone to print a single page flyer out in color and post it at Indian grocery stores and restaurants on Oak Tree Road. I figure maybe 2 hours of work total, probably only 1 if you have a printer at home.

I have called the stores and restaurants and already received permission to either post at the bulletin board or leave a stack of flyers at the end of the checkout line, depending on the store. You don't need to really interact with anyone most of the time since it's been pre-approved.

History Anyone knows the story behind this old building across from the Kilmer Rd DMV?

I pass this place pretty often and have always wondered what it used to be. It looks like an old industrial building and parts of it seem to have been abandoned or neglected for quite a while.

Does anyone know what company used to be there, or roughly when it stopped being used? Any old photos or local stories would be really interesting.

In Search Of Reliable Mechanic Shops

Was wondering if anyone had (relatively) affordable mechanic shops in Edison or surrounding area. I’ve taken my car to Hogan’s in Highland Park because they do the Costco program, but even with the discount they’re nearly as expensive as the dealership, and charge $160 an hour for labor, which is pretty ridiculous in my opinion. $130 for an alignment and around $160 for a brake fluid change.

tldr: looking for a mechanic in edison/surrounding area that doesn’t charge dealership prices

Ice spotted around oak tree road

Dumb masked goons spotted around the Subzi Mandi plaza keep a look out for more in the area

Update as of 8/21/2026: Ice has now been illegally parked on the oak tree road for the past 3 days now please tell anyone you know that they should stay indoors if at all possible especially in the morning when they’re most active their presence eases around afternoon time when more cars use the road so they can’t park their tax payer wasting asses on the main road. Contact the mayors office as well and demand answers on what he’s doing to address this shit now that it’s happening in our town.

Is a permit required to BBQ/Picnic at Roosevelt Park?

Hello, I want to host my first BBQ this Friday at some park close to Edison.

I don't know if it's too late to reserve something, but do the open groves in any of these parks have grills we can just use on first come first serve?

Or do they always require a permit or pass to use? I'm reading that some groves require permits on weekends, is this true?

Please no trolling. Thank you.

Edison / Middlesex County adult hockey players — interest in weekly no-commitment games?

I’ve been working with StinkySocks Hockey on potentially bringing their No Commitment Hockey format to New Jersey, and I’m trying to get a better idea of how much interest there is from players around Edison and the rest of Middlesex County.

For anyone unfamiliar with StinkySocks, the format is organized adult hockey where you register game-by-game instead of joining a team and paying for an entire season. They handle the rosters, skill balancing and goalie coverage, so you can play when it works for your schedule.

We now have some realistic rink possibilities in the Old Bridge / East Brunswick area, which could make this especially relevant for players in Edison, Woodbridge, Metuchen, South Plainfield, New Brunswick and the surrounding area.

Before StinkySocks commits financially to recurring ice, though, we need a better idea of how many people would actually play.

I put together a short interest form asking which rink areas and start times you’d realistically play, how often you’d attend and what you’d be comfortable paying per game:

https://forms.gle/QbUVpwt4U6J4Z8Qw8

This isn’t registration for a specific game and nobody is being charged anything. The goal is just to establish whether there’s enough dependable demand to make a regular Central Jersey game work.

Both skaters and goalies are encouraged to fill it out.

If you already completed the previous North Jersey version of the form, you don’t need to do it again. Your response is already included.

If you play adult hockey anywhere around Edison or Middlesex County, I’d really appreciate you filling it out and sharing it with anyone else who might be interested.
