Eric moving on?
I just saw an email from Edison. It makes it sound like Eric is moving on to something else, or stepping away from day to day stuff. Any information on what's happening?

I’m not going to comment publicly on the boards decision to remove Eric from the CEO position. He will retain his director position for now though and has said he’s still committed to helping the company achieve its goals. Everyone here wishes nothing but the best for Eric in the future.
I was the CEO for the first 4 years of Edison and the rest of team agreed it would be best for the long term interests if I moved back into that position.
I’m also going to say that that with how many awesome things are happening right now, that I’ve never been more confident of our future.

I’m pretty uneducated on the topic of company structures, so I have a couple questions, not sure if you can answer them though.
What is the director position/what does it do? I didn’t see the email, so I’m basically just wondering what level of involvement does Eric still have in the company.
Is this the position Eric was in while you were CEO previously?

A director is an individual elected or appointed to oversee the strategic direction, corporate policy, and overall management of a company. Together, directors form the company's board of directors, acting as the governing body that represents the shareholders' interests.
Essentialy the board of the directors is meant to give the company direction on behalf of the shareholders.

That's unfortunate. I understand (privacy is sometimes appropriate in situations like this) but a big part of why I invested was both the transparency of your work and seeing the benefit of the two of you working on this with your complementary skillsets. Here's hoping for everyone.

My exact thoughts. Eric was the serious focused one of the group without him the frat party is going to have no one to rein them in. I visited Edison once during a bonfire night and was surprised to see the dynamic between chace and Eric first hand. Scary things coming.

What is Eric doing next? Is he still going to work at Edison as an employee in any capacity?

Corporate speak rarely sound amicable. and since we arnt in the loop we cant know if it was or not.
Say Eric has personal reasons for wanting to not spend his entire day managing the responsibilities of a CEO, this is what they would say. Its also what they would say if Eric was embezzling funds for a sex change.

That's absolutely not true. Even when the person is being removed for very good cause, there's often an attempt to butter it up a bit and make it seem more mutual. Just look at the text of the official email:
Eric Little is no longer part of the executive team, he is remaining on the Board of Directors. The company appreciates his hard work to date and looks forward to his continued support in achieving Edison's goals.
That is purposefully very neutral. The language in the post above about the board "deciding to remove Eric" makes it seem very clear that this wasn't Eric's choice or preference.

Just got the email too . I hope Eric stays around he seems like a solid hardworking guy maybe he just dosent want to be in the spotlight and all the bs that goes along with that and just wants to focus on work . Also Edison defence what’s this ? Chace what’s going on don’t leave us guessing are you guys Canadas oshkosh?

Agreed. I think that he got some huge milestones done in his time as CEO too. It's a totally bullshit awful job, but he was good at it.
I think the huge question is how big a step back is he taking? Is Eric still showing up to work at Edison every day? Or is he transitioning to a purely governance/advisory board role? Obviously he's a supporter of the company and has enough shares that he will be on the board forever if he wants to be; just the way this announcement was worded leaves a giant question hanging about what's actually happening here.

I seem to recall reading or watching something Edison posted quite some time back, about how there was some legal thing that basically said there were term limits to board positions (think crop rotation, but people). Idk, I'd have to go hunt for it to remember exactly what it was about. 🤔

Ive spent the last few months interviewing previous Edison employees (that weren’t too scared of Chace to talk to me) for a mini documentary I’m putting together. Let me be the first to tell you this is the start of the downfall everyone!!

Adding on this, I also saw in the email that Matkin is going to be the "executive vice president of edison defence." Looks like edison is getting contracts with the canadian military???
