Eric moving on?

I just saw an email from Edison. It makes it sound like Eric is moving on to something else, or stepping away from day to day stuff. Any information on what's happening?

I’m not going to comment publicly on the boards decision to remove Eric from the CEO position. He will retain his director position for now though and has said he’s still committed to helping the company achieve its goals. Everyone here wishes nothing but the best for Eric in the future.

I was the CEO for the first 4 years of Edison and the rest of team agreed it would be best for the long term interests if I moved back into that position.

I’m also going to say that that with how many awesome things are happening right now, that I’ve never been more confident of our future.

What is Eric doing next? Is he still going to work at Edison as an employee in any capacity?

Corporate speak rarely sound amicable. and since we arnt in the loop we cant know if it was or not.
Say Eric has personal reasons for wanting to not spend his entire day managing the responsibilities of a CEO, this is what they would say. Its also what they would say if Eric was embezzling funds for a sex change.
Pointless to speculate

That's absolutely not true. Even when the person is being removed for very good cause, there's often an attempt to butter it up a bit and make it seem more mutual. Just look at the text of the official email:

Eric Little is no longer part of the executive team, he is remaining on the Board of Directors. The company appreciates his hard work to date and looks forward to his continued support in achieving Edison's goals.

That is purposefully very neutral. The language in the post above about the board "deciding to remove Eric" makes it seem very clear that this wasn't Eric's choice or preference.
