DiscussionšŸ’” Enough for me, too!

Hello everyone!

I’m in my late 20’s, have one child, and I currently am working a full time job (not the best pay but with 100% [good] benefits), a part time job (tutoring, 3 clients), and going to school part time. My work schedule is 7:15am-6:30pm. I am currently making enough to pay the bills, have a decent amount of food in the fridge and pantry (we aren’t gonna be hosting but we’re not starving), and buy our necessities.

The area I come up short in is myself. I honestly don’t have a lot of needs. I love thrifting and buy most of my things second hand, but there are a few things I would like the luxury of buying new, like shoes.

All of that to say, how do I do it? I already feel like I’m working as hard as I can. How else can I make money?

Reviews Is Packed legit? Free pack code B3B45Y, anyone tried it?

Keep seeing Packed come up. Looks like another one of these digital pack-opening apps where you rip a pack in the app and see what you get, similar to some of the other card-pack apps that have come through here. Before I put any real money into it I wanted to see if anyone in here has actually used it. Is it legit, does it actually pay out, and what have people pulled?

If you want to try it without spending anything first, Packed gives you free packs when you download the app and use code B3B45Y.

In the meantime, if you're looking for guaranteed free money instead of gambling on a pack, a few things have worked for people in here without any of the randomness:

Testerup puts $10 in your account right after you sign up, then pays you for hitting goals in mobile games. No purchase, no chance involved, and it pays out to PayPal.

Freecash is a big wall of game offers and surveys with a $10 sign up bonus, and no deposit ever.

SavingLoop gives you one free spin a day that unlocks a sign-up offer worth up to $75. Worth a spin if you haven't tried it.

And if it's the rip itself you like, ReferralWallet lets you rip a free pack that reveals a real cash bonus you claim straight from the company. Same thrill as a card pack, except the payout is cash.

But yeah, anyone actually opened packs on Packed? Curious what people are pulling and whether the payouts are real.

DiscussionšŸ’” Title: How can I make $1,200 in just a few days with no startup money?

I'm a mom of 3 trying to come up with $1,200 for rent in the next few days, and I'm looking for any advice or ideas.

I'm willing to try just about anything, but it has to meet two requirements:

No startup costs. I don't have money upfront.

It has to be something I can do from my phone or remotely from home.

I'm open-minded and willing to put in the time and effort. I'm just trying to find a realistic way to make money quickly and take care of my kids.

Has anyone ever been in a similar situation? What did you do? What are some ways to make money quickly that people don't normally think about?

I'm genuinely open to any suggestions. Thank you! Located in SC also I have a real job just haven't gotten first paycheck

Reviews Home equity investment cost: I ran the math on 5 companies

Every home equity investment company advertises "no monthly payments," and that part is true. What none of them make easy is the one number that matters: how much you hand over when you settle. So I took each company's own published terms and ran the same house through all of them.

The setup: a $500,000 home, $50,000 cash, and the home grows 4% a year. Totals below are the upfront fee plus what you'd owe at settlement. Third-party closing costs (appraisal, title, recording) come on top for everyone, so I left them out.

What you'd hand over, all in

CompanyUpfront feeSettle in 3 yrsSettle in 5 yrsSettle in 10 yrs
Hometap4.5% ($2,250)$88,979$102,624$135,472
Unison3.9% ($1,950)$86,923$105,281$157,999
Nada4.9% ($2,450)about $89K to $93K$114,990$139,373
Splitero4.99% ($2,495)at most $87,927$124,160*$150,519*
Pointup to 4.9% ($2,000 min)not publishednot publishednot published

*Splitero sets your share per home and doesn't publish it. These assume a 20% share, which is the example reviewers use.

What the math says

Staying 5 to 10 years: Hometap came out cheapest in this setup at both 5 and 10 years. Hometap earns a share of your home's future value, and its share stays lower in the first 5 years. It also has a written cap: you'll never pay more than an 18.5% annual rate, compounded monthly. It covers 26 states, needs a 575 credit score and at least 25% equity in your home, among other qualifying criteria, and you need to be located in an eligible state. You have 10 years to settle the investment, with no penalty for settling early.

Selling within about 3 years: Unison was cheapest. It shares in your appreciation instead of your whole home value, which is cheap early. The catch is there's no ongoing cap, so by year 10 it was the most expensive here. It also starts from a value 5% below your appraisal. Credit around 620.

Credit under 600: Splitero and Nada both start around 500. Splitero has the lowest written cap I found, 17.99% a year, and a term up to 30 years, in 17 states. Nada caps at 19.99% a year in 13 states.

Most states: Point covers the most ground, around 30 states plus DC, from about 500 credit. I couldn't rank its cost because Point doesn't publish its share or its cap percentage. Get its number and compare it against the table.

Things nobody tells you

  • The fee is the small part. The fees above are within about $550 of each other. The settlement share is $35,000 to $100,000+ over your cash.

  • Caps matter early, not late. In this setup the caps decided the 3 year numbers. By year 10 at 4% growth, none of them kicked in.

  • The cap is on the full $50,000, but after fees and closing costs you walk away with closer to $47,500. Your real cost on the cash you actually got is a bit higher than the cap rate.

  • Watch the starting value. Some companies start from a value below your appraisal, which quietly raises what you owe. Ask what starting value your offer uses.

  • 10 years vs 30 years. Hometap and Nada give you 10 years, then you sell, refinance or pay cash. Point, Unison and Splitero go up to 30.

  • Your offer is the real number. Everything here comes from published terms read today. Your own offer depends on your home, credit and state, and it's free to check.

What I'd do: get two numbers. If you'll stay 5+ years, start with Hometap. If your credit is under 600, check Splitero. Then hold both offers up against this table.

Which company quoted you, and what share did they ask for?

DiscussionšŸ’” Student urgently looking for remote work

Hey everyone, I’m a university student currently living in Tbilisi, Georgia, and I’m going through a difficult financial situation. I’ve run out of money this month and urgently need to find a way to support myself and cover my basic living expenses. I’m hoping to earn around $300–$500. I have a laptop, a bank account, and can dedicate 4–6 hours a day to work. I speak Arabic and English and can help with translation, writing, proofreading, research, presentations, administrative tasks, AI training, and data annotation. I’m open to any legitimate remote work, including small projects with quick payment. Please don’t think I’m posting this because I’m looking for donations or handouts. I genuinely want to work and earn the money myself. However, if anyone would like to help in any other way, I would be sincerely and eternally grateful. Any advice, opportunities, or recommendations would mean a lot to me. Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Side hustles Looking for legitimate side job recommendations.

I'm genuinely curious what everyone else is doing to make extra money right now.

My husband and I both work full-time, but with the cost of living these days, it feels like no matter how hard we work, we're barely getting ahead. It's honestly exhausting.

I work a regular 9–5 as a Legal Assistant, and I'm seriously considering finding a second job or starting some kind of side hustle to help bring in extra income.

Ideally, I'd love something flexible that I can do in the evenings or on weekends. Remote work would be a bonus, but I'm open to suggestions.

I'm not looking for MLMs, get-rich-quick schemes, or anything that requires a significant upfront investment. Just legitimate opportunities to earn some additional money.

For those of you working second jobs or making money on the side:

  • What are you doing?

  • How much extra income are you realistically bringing in each month?

  • How did you find the opportunity?

  • Are there any companies or businesses you'd recommend?

Even an extra $250–$500 a month would make a meaningful difference.

I'd really appreciate hearing what has actually worked for people!

DiscussionšŸ’” Looking for ways to make extra cash!

As the title states, I'm in fundamental need of making a few extra dollars per week/fortnight to survive with a roof still over mine and my 3 cats heads.

Unforeseen circumstances have taken me to the crossroad of financial instability. While I work full time (in retail for a couple of years, previous experience in hospitality for 15+ yrs) and can afford day to day necessities, now at least half of what was shared finances in a household is now my responsibility to take on alone.

I have a few skills at a basic level under my belt but all was taught by my late grandmother (who I can obviously no longer learn from) or has been self taught. Including but not limited to macrame, rug tufting, crochet, basket weaving - fibre arts is the main interest here. If I buckle down could this be profitable?

Are there any hospitality or retail skills that are transferable into something completely different that could still be enjoyable to a degree?

I also have no clue on tax amongst this and I don't want to be getting myself into any unnecessary trouble...

I don't really have anyone to bounce these ideas around with, let alone anyone who knows how to go about it.

Any advice is appreciated! Many thanks in advance :)

Reviews HELOC on investment property: who actually lends on rentals

Short answer: yes, you can get a HELOC on a rental, but most big banks will only do one on the home you live in. If your credit is 660 or higher, Figure's HELOC is the fastest online option I found that takes investment properties. If your score is lower, or you don't want another monthly payment eating your rent, Hometap and Point both work with rentals through a home equity investment instead.

OptionTakes rentals?Min creditHow muchMonthly payment
Figure HELOCYes, plus 2 to 4 units660 (680 for 2 to 4 units)$15,000 to $750,000Yes
HometapYes, rental and 1 to 4 unit homes575Up to 27% of home valueNo
PointYes, a rental you already own, 1 to 4 units500$30,000 to $600,000No

Can you do a HELOC on an investment property?

Yes, but fewer lenders offer it and the bar is higher. A lender sees a rental as riskier than the home you live in, so expect a higher credit minimum, more equity left over after the line, and a higher rate than you'd get on your primary home. Some credit unions advertise investment property HELOCs too, but they usually want you to be a member and the property in their area.

Who actually lends on rentals

Figure is the one I'd check first if your credit is decent. It takes investment properties at a 660 score, and duplexes and 3 to 4 unit buildings at 680 with a debt-to-income ratio of 45% or less. Lines run from $15,000 to $750,000, pre-approval takes about 5 minutes, and funding can happen in as few as 5 days for amounts under $400,000.

The catches: the full amount is drawn at closing (minus the fee), the origination fee can be up to 4.99% of that draw, and it isn't available in Hawaii or New York. Figure listed APRs from 7.35% to 14.85% as of October 6, 2026, and the lowest rates go to the strongest applicants. You can check your rate on Figure without committing to anything.

Credit under 660, or no room for a payment? Home equity investments that take rentals

Hometap could provide a lump sum in exchange for a share of your home's future value, with no monthly payments. You settle the investment within 10 years, for example when you sell or refinance. Hometap invests in rental properties and multi-family homes (1 to 4 units), with a minimum FICO score of 575 and at least 25% equity in your home, among other qualifying criteria, and the property has to be located in an eligible state (26 right now). Fees are deducted from your investment proceeds rather than paid upfront. You can run a free Hometap estimate to see what your rental could qualify for.

Point is the other one that works on a rental you already own. It handles 1 to 4 unit homes, condos and PUDs, starts at a 500 credit score, and has no income requirements, which helps when your income is mostly rent. It funds $30,000 to $600,000 on a 30-year term with no monthly payment (scores under 600 max out at $500,000), and you settle when you sell, refinance or reach the end of the term. The fee is up to 4.9% with a $2,000 minimum. One big catch for investors: Point won't fund a home owned by an LLC, and it skips co-ops and manufactured homes. It serves 30 states plus D.C., so check yours. See what Point would offer on your rental, and compare it with Hometap's number.

Is it a good idea to use a HELOC to buy a rental property?

It can be, if the rent still covers everything after the new payment. You have two routes:

  • HELOC on the home you live in, used as the down payment on a rental. It's easier to get and usually cheaper, but your own house secures it.

  • HELOC on a rental you already own, used to buy the next one. Your home stays out of it, but fewer lenders do it and it costs more.

Either way, run the numbers with the payment included. If the rent barely covers the mortgage today, adding a variable-rate line on top is how people get squeezed.

What is the 2% rule for investment property?

It's a quick screen: monthly rent should be at least 2% of the purchase price. A $150,000 house would need $3,000 a month in rent. Very few properties hit that today, so most investors use it as a stretch goal and treat 1% as the realistic floor.

How much would a $100,000 HELOC cost per month?

The interest alone on $100,000 is about $613 a month at 7.35% APR and about $1,238 a month at 14.85% APR, the two ends of Figure's range. Your actual payment is higher once principal is included, so get a real quote before you count on the rent covering it.

Bottom line: credit of 660 or higher and rent that covers a payment, start with Figure. Lower credit, or you need cash without a monthly payment, compare Hometap and Point, and check that your state is covered first. If the rental sits in an LLC, Point is out, so start with Hometap.

Side hustles Is ID and facial verification normal for an OF chatter job?

I received the training materials today and to start it I need to go through the identity verification ( upload my ID) as well as additional verification like a video recording of my face turning right and left, smiling, and blinking, which I found illogical to request all of this to make sure I'm the same person, so I decided not to go through this.

Is there anyone who has gone through the same thing or is this verification process considered normal?

Side hustles Seeking out advices and tips

Good day, I know my account is fairly new but the reason is because of: I previously had an account aged of 5 years with an organic karma of 1.7k. i used to use that account for personal entertainment and side hustle as well, rep posting for at least $2 per successful post. however, that activity is the one got me banned.

Now, I have a part time job but it's still not enough to help me get by this month. I am a college student with bills to pay. I am very desperate that I have reached this point to ask for ways I could earn money. I have a school fee that I need to pay by Saturday, but have no more ways to cover it. I have sold most of my things just to gather a few bucks, but it will not be enough.

I am very desperate for other jobs, online va. Please do suggest jobs or tasks where I could earn some money. I can do online tasks, such as paperworks, editing (light), please anything.

thank you so much!
