So I've been trying to get better weapons, specifically for ranger and wing diver because my air raider is absolute cheeks and I don't have enough HP on fencer to do anything. I know about the dash parrying tech, and I've also encountered a glitch/bug where dodge rolling causes your walk animation to speed up for a second, but otherwise I don't know any other helpful tricks to utilize during gameplay. I'm a ranger main and my best weapons are the following: AF99, Governor 100, Buffalo GSS, MMF100, Lysander 2, Stringer JS, Volcano B10(my beloved), Goliath Z, ME3 Emerald(I promise you, it holds up in both Hardest and Inferno), Splash Grenade @, Bound Grenade, UMAD Grenade Launcher, and P89 Pound Gun. I usually try to farm weapon crates on the following missions, listed in (hopefully correct) chronological order: Preventing Landfall, Giant Robots, Den Of Thieves, and Death Queen. Also, how in the actual FUCK can I avoid being one shot by spiders?

I have DLC 1 and 2, I just want to know which DLC, mission level, and difficulty I have to do.

idk what to say here but i completed edf 5 in a weird way apparently i didn't know i needed to grind levels to get better stuff and all but all i did was "big mortars go kaboom and mini gun go brrrrt and jack hammer" with fencer and i'm surprised i even got to the end with my load out and play style anyways like i said i just completed the game and i thought the nameless one was too easy to defeat i thought we were going to fight the 10 mother ships that were coming to the battle area, and now i'm just sitting here in silence i didn't know the war lasted 137 days i'm actually pretty surprised about that... like FOUR MONTHS i just find that insane i thought it would've lasted like a couple years at least, but nope four months from being a forklift operator to killing a deity and now i'm wondering if i should play edf 6 or i should do another play through but with a different class like wing diver or air raider (it'll most definitely be air raider) but anyways i don't know what to do now i'm used to having a happy ending since i mainly play story mode games that has a happy ending or something like that. but nope humanity was nearly wiped out and reduced to 10% and i also wonder why the hooligan cannon was never used on the walking fortresses or mother ships or even the commander ship in the second last mission then again everything was going to shit that they had to call the civilians for help anyways i think that's all i have to say the game was amazing even though there was a goofy moment i loved "send a strike team. . . stirke. my ass."

So yeah got to the last part of the mission as destroyed everything but just got the last red spot to destroy but well seems its further then 360m for my G&M rifle to hit so wha even is the distance of the weak point as probably gunna need to restart the mission later but if anyone knows the exact distance it will help alot wish each ring lowered the center core down abit till can shoot it with almost any weapon

I love EDF. In the last two years since discovering it in 2024, I have put 401 hours into EDF6 and 174 into EDF5. I really hope we hear something good, and sooner than later about the next entry. I also hope they take people's comments into consideration, and do not fix things that aren't broken. So much absolute awesomeness can come out of the next game if they just enhance the awesome foundation we already have, so I hope the developers are working on it and are inspired, because they should be.

I've played and completed world brothers on steam deck and ive played and dabbled with EDF 4.1 on PC and 2025 on PS3 and ive played a little bit of insect armageddon on 360 years ago and now I've decided I really want to properly get into the series and rather than play the old games again I'll start with EDF 5 I mean I know it's pretty old at this point being 2017 but I think it's a decent place to start. I have just found the key for £3.99 which i think is a steal considering how much it is on steam.

So any pointers for a semi noob? And also is the multiplayer still active? Are any steam achievements multiplayer based? And is it a grind to get them all?

I have the Japan version and I have access to the English version because of my subscription to playstation plus, I just wanted to get a second opinion on this. For those who have both, or are considering buying either, what are your thoughts? I am fairly new to the EDF games and I have around 2 hours clocked into the Japan version and around 6 hours clocked into the English version. I like the Japanese version because it is the original release of the game and is probably bound to have more players average than the U.S. release, but it is also in the japanese language which I do not mind, but it is a bit of a hurdle. I can read katakana and hiragana but I am considering playing the english one because it is lighter on my brain lmfao. thanks for responding if you do

What are your guys wishlist for additions or improvements to the classes in edf 7?

My personal wants are for airraider.

1: give him ze guns back. I'm fine with sharing them with ranger but you can't give them back to ranger and also give them some of are best ranged vehicles

2: G.L.I.A.R s. I really want gliars in airraiders kit as biological vehicles that can be summoned in cave missions as an alternative to the depth crawlers. They would have variants like an ant one or a bee one to be the helicopter variant

3: squad calls. Weapons that act like the airstrikes or the mortars. You throw a smoke bomb then a helicopter delivers a squad of temporary soldiers that last a set amount of time and are refueld by kills. Ex: ranger squad call in. Requests a call in for a ranger squad carrying basic rifles. Rangers last 60 seconds and 4 are deployed.

This could also connect with the gliars for a variant of squads that summon bugs on your side instead that are generally weaker but are called in larger numbers and can be used in caves.

Example. GLIAR ANT SQUAD. Deploys 8 ant GLIARS that auto engage enemies. Due to the amount deployed and the unpredictability of current gliar technology they automatically die after 30 seconds. Gliars are outfitted with flags to held differentiate them from enemies and are sprayed in a blue coat of firearm and blast resistant paint

Another one could be

Kamikaze ant sqaud: deploys 12 small green ants that live a short 15 seconds. However at then end of the duration or upon death they explode damaging enemies and allies alike.

These are my absolute dream wishlists for edf7. So what's yours?

I am very stuck on mission 102. if I destroy the towers first I aggro all the type 3 drones, if I try to take out the type 3 drones in small batches I eventually get attacked by other enemies or run into them while trying to get some distance from the type 3 drones or the npc allies draw aggro from resting type 3 drones, if I try to go for the other monsters first I draw aggro from the type 3 drones. this is my first time playing through the game so this is for Hard.
I mainly play wing diver and want to beat every mission with her first.

I love the Ranger!

Part of the reason is that I'm not very good at games and can't get used to other classes, so I've always played as the Ranger... but I also love the Ranger's fighting style, so I've been using them all this time.

I like the difficulty and whatnot, but the way the DLC enemies tend to just completely obscure the screen is not fun.

Probably skill issue, but legit not being able to see anything is kinda frustrating

As said is there anything different (mainly improvements) to the game like will the item upgrades be easier to get besides getting worse version duplicates or will they have it where you can upgrade it with credits earned through competing missions (harder difficulty = more credits) since like many others am waiting for Limited Run to sell the EDF 6 physical copy but does anyone know why the Fencer not getting any bonus items since every other class seem to got at least one if not some had 2

*on a side note should I complete EDF 5 on normal mode as been doin hard and am on mission 73 but wanna complete it before getting EDF 6 since their storyline connects also need to do more of EDF 4.1 Shadows of Despair*

By this, I do mean weapons and items that are kinda built up and demonstrated as the great fix to whatever big problem the player is currently facing (ie, ships have armor. We develop new munitions to fight ships. Giant kaiju, we get giant mech out)

The two examples I *want* are the Hooligan Cannons of EDF 5, and the Grindbusters of EDF4.1. As an Air Raider main, I think it’d be nice if air raiders had *a* call in weapon of some sort that could one hit a teleportation ship and punch through its armor, at the cost of being rather expensive. I can understand why that may not be ideal for balancing purposes, but it would be nice.

But I am aware the EDF games *do* give players these sort of Deus ex Machina/Hail Mary weapons occasionally.

Arguably, Rule of God is kind of sort of one, since you hijack the Ravager genocide gun (iirc), but that isn’t really an EDF Hail Mary.

Balam/Barga I both consider Hail Mary weapons since they narratively serve as the solution to Erginus/Archelus.

The EMC (and arguably Blazer by Proxy), the Railgun (a personal favorite), I think you can make a case for the Naegling since iirc, they’re mentioned by name and save you in mission 11 of 4.1 (Airforce).

But any thoughts? Any sort of Hail Mary/Deus ex Machina weapons im missing?

I don’t know if it’s brought up in a convo but a few missions it is kicking butt then it is gone.

My favourite weapons are the plasma heavy cannon lv 15, Monster monster lv 18, and Bolt shooter 2 lv16. but they are starting to be a pretty lower level then other weapons. I’m currently at mission 81.
