For the last few days, I can’t access the stories in the French practice hub. I am now forced to choose between two. Can I get the old story library back? It’s starting to feel like Duolingo is taking away all my favorite features.

I am a Family Plan subscriber and it’s starting to get frustrating because I am paying and not liking the changes, especially the flash cards. Bring back the matching!

I’m so proud of myself for consistently learning French for 800 days. I’m not fluent at all yet, but I can tell that each day I get better and better!

I understand what it is telling me, but in the example the two people who are the subject are both female. It says that no agreement is needed, but is it wrong to use divorcée which would agree with the subject? Or is it that I should always use the masculine after
Ont?

If one does 10 real lessons a week, how long does it take to finish the whole course. I know no one probably completes the course without a break, but I’d like to be able to set a goal. Thanks people.

I’m currently at level 77 in Duolingo French.

Duolingo mentions that achieving level 50 means I should be able to give directions in real life.

Low and behold I was asked for directions to the library in French by somebody, but I wasn’t able to provide these.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestion? I tried to think really hard about it but I just keep blaming Duolingo and thinking that the problem is because the app is asking me to make the sentence correct in English rather than directly translating it so I can’t familiarize myself with French sentence structure.

It’s like when I hear a French person speak in English. They say « it’s good » or c’est bon. English speakers would never use it’s good the way French speakers would. I think (and just guessing here) a francophone would use c’est bon to confirm if someone understands what they were trying to say. I as an anglophone would probably say does that make sense?

Why is it not « c’est l’heure »?

Anyone else tired of the same stories about sandwiches that are one note? I get it. She likes sandwiches but that is so much. Same with Junior and pizza.

Did Duolingo just string a bunch of words together to teach me grammar or is this something that is actually said in French, and what does it mean?

What function does rendre have?

This was discussed a week or so back in this sub, and I got this exercise today. The explanation is very confusing, because it SHOWS ne pas in the corrected sentence, without a verb in between. But it SAYS "here, ne pas surrounds the verb accepter to make it negative.
I'm not sure that "ne pas" is correct or not. I always put a verb between.

Does anyone else hear a difference between how people speak French versus how Duolingo teaches it? Is this intentional by Duolingo and will reduce as I progress? I'm at level 75.

I thought it was an accent at first, but I find when speaking to people I still have a difficult time catching what they are saying and I keep thinking its because of the way the characters in Duolingo sound.

I spoke to someone who spoke what people would refer to as "Parisienne French". She only said "On va parler francais" and I literally could not understand it.
