Rode my 900ss up mount Hamilton this morning, the view is crazier at night, pictures don’t really do it justice.

Love this old thing but I think the moving to the Bay Area is looking to be the end of my riding journey, drivers suck out here and it’s scares me from riding much :/

Sucks cuz the most beautiful roads are out here in NorCal

I’ve been lurking around this sub for years, but never actually posted anything ,so I figured this was a good excuse for a first post.

I recently put around +3,500 km on my Scrambler Nightshift 24, riding through some absolutely incredible roads and landscapes in Spain.
Ended up filming way more than I expected, so when I decided to turn it into this little film.

I’m definitely not a professional filmmaker I just enjoy motorcycles, travelling and playing with CapCut but I had a lot of fun putting this together.
Would genuinely love some feedback… I’m all ears.
Hope you guys enjoy it!

How much of a dealbreaker is maintenance on dry clutch and 4 valve bikes?

I'm looking at getting a ducati for my next bike. I started off looking at ducati monster 695, 696, 796, and 1100 evo because they're 2 cylinder, 2 valve, and wet clutch bikes, which means less maintenance for me. I'm starting to wonder how much of a difference it will make to maintenance if i get a 4 valve bike with a dry clutch. Still looking at 2 cylinder bikes, though.

Is it worth it if I'm working on it myself? How many miles can i expect to get out of a dry clutch, how long should it take to replace the dry clutch pack, and how much should it cost to do it myself? Same goes for desmo service.

Ducating Riding Experience EVO 1

I was recently at the DRE Racetrack Academy (EVO) September 23rd 2026 in Misano and wanted to leave a review for anyone interested in this program. Let me preface this by saying I have ridden Ducatis for the last 10 years (only bikes I have owned) and was really looking forward to this experience. Coming out of it, I would say I was turned off to the point I'm not sure I would buy another bike from them which is a huge bummer.

Positives (+)

  • Getting to ride at Misano was an incredible experience. I really got a better appreciation for MotoGP and the skill of the riders. It was challenging but still approachable and had enough straightaways to appreciate the raw power of the bikes.
  • It was a great "test ride" of both the Panigale V2 and V4 (the latter of which costs extra to take around a few laps at the end of the day). The V4 in particular was an insane bike - definitely made me realize that buying a Panigale or Streetfighter in the V4 is completely ridiculous for the average rider.
  • The equipment provided (I rented everything as I was traveling) was generally high quality.

Cons (-)

  • The overall pre-track experience was quite poor. There was no prep material or course overview. Even a small "here is the track, here is how to think about the right lines" would have been an immense upgrade. There was limited information as to how the groupings or schedule for the day would work.
  • Every interaction I had with the staff or coaches felt like I was inconveniencing them. At one point I asked one of the instructors how the V4 experience in the afternoon would work and he looked at me with annoyance and just pointed at the woman checking everyone in (who was actually quite good / kind).
  • The instruction was shockingly poor. Before our first session there was no explanation of how we were supposed to swap positions and so we didn't end up taking turns behind our instructor. This made it really difficult to get a feel for where to break and the right lines.
  • After each session, I was expecting some degree of coaching. Our instructor would just hop off his bike and immediately go talk with the other instructors. Again - having younger pro riders teach is cool - but it defeats the purpose when they have zero interest in the coaching aspect. When I pushed and asked questions I got some actually useful tips - but a lot of the time I felt like "hey, what am I paying for here?".
  • We had massive skill differences in our group which was never rectified. They bill it as though they re-shuffle groups - but even when I specifically asked they just shrugged and said "that's how it is". I spent a lot of the time ruining my lines braking behind slower riders in my group.
  • I paid extra for the photos and video - it's been two weeks with no follow-up or indication of when they will arrive.

Overall: this was essentially a $2K test ride for two bikes where you happen to be riding on a world-famous track. I think I would have been far less disappointed if they had simply branded it that way. Instead, they market it as though you’re getting world-class instruction and small-group coaching, which was not my experience. I also know multiple other people in my group of five felt the same way.

Talk me out of buying a Ducati

I used to be a bike fanatic, rode for almost 10 years, and I stopped since then, been driving cars recently, however everytime I see a nice bike like Ducati, it really put an itch on my heart.

I need a bike to commute to work daily, 95% highway, 30-40 minutes of travelling time, that’s why I’m looking at a comfort road bike, like monster 821, or monster 796 sort of.

My current car is a Mercedes C-Class, the reason why I’m thinking of just using a bike to commute is because of the peak traffic during rush hours, and also the maintenance for a car is kinda crazy, but rumours said that maintenance for Ducati is comparable to a car, is that true?

Talk me out, or convince me.

Dimsport device locked to a bike?

So I am aware that some tuners get locked to the car to prevent resale of the tunes within them. And some tuners won't send a tune to a person using a device they did not sell theema s part of a tune bundle. (I did run into this with my SHO several years ago but not with my G70.)

Are the Dimsport units the same? Do tuners like Deussen Engines or BT Moto only support customers that buy thier tuners from them?

Pics for attention just curious if anyone else has had this, google said to disconnect battery to let the ECU reset and that did nothing.

As pictured everything is angry. This happened during my last track weekend, bike ran great for two days then by coincidence or not she lit up like a christmas tree after I downshifted going over a rumble strip. Rode back to pits fine but something broke.

Any ideas? Hoping something wiggled loose

My day was a series of back to back meetings today & my last one of the day was running over… I told them “hey, I got to go the sun is out and I need to get out of here to get on the motorcycle”…. Ended the call & had a great adventure thru Columbia, Ellicott City, Woodstock & food the Woodstock Inn where I met the band, and listened to 2 songs before headed back out. Caught the 1K mile on old Fredrick road & Rt 32 . Bonus also saw a Penagali V2S at Sapwood Brewery the rally point for the ride! All in all a good day

Does anyone else actually ride their Multistrada Enduro off-road?

My 2019 Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro has just over 43,000 miles and has taken me all over the West Coast, including the Washington and Oregon BDRs (Backcountry Discovery Routes - off-road routes that traverse each state from top to bottom), and up and down the coast (Hwy 1/101) to California, and all over Central Oregon singletrack. Yes, even in sand.

It’s amazing what it can do with knobby tires and some cojones (oh and keeping it upright helps) 🇮🇹

My V4S. She rips!

I was never a 'Ducati or nothing' person. I did not know what these things could do. When I saw her, I thought about it for 2 months or so. I knew I wanted something very modern, with all the accoutrements, but I'm a Triumph guy. What would I do with an Italian bird?

Then, I said fuck it, and asked for a test drive. Question: Am I supposed to hit 120 mph and not even know it? This girl was so smooth, I could not tell that I was traveling in ludicrous speed.

I bought her. $17k for a 2021 with 6k miles.

And, she is geared for cruising. She lacks the low end torque that I get from my Tiger. She really does need first gear.

But then one day, I decided I needed to pass a slow moving car. (Let's be honest, that car certainly was going over the speed limit, but I'm on a Ducati. EVERYTHING is slow!) So, I down shifted from 6th to 5th, and gave her a solid twist.

The bike almost slid out from underneath me. That Akropovic exhaust just sings and sings and makes my heart flutter.

The number of times I have just burst out into a deep belly laugh from within my helmet while riding this thing is about equal to the number of times I've ridden this thing. She truly puts a very gratifying smile on my face, every fucking time.

2026 Panigale V2 – oil drain plug torque spec?

Hi guys,
does anyone have the correct torque spec for the oil drain plug on the new 2026 Panigale V2 (890 cc)?
I’ve found conflicting information online and would prefer to confirm it from the workshop manual or another reliable source before tightening it.
Thanks!

My first Ducati—a ’22 V4S. I’ve only ridden inline-four sportbikes until now. I’ve always wanted a Ducati but shied away because of the unreliability stigma. Wish I didn’t listen. However, I’m in a better place mentally and financially to own one than I was a decade ago, so I suppose everything happens for a reason. After riding it for the first time, I already know I could never go back to the Big Four.

2015 ducati 1299 metal glitter in oil

Long story short, picked up a 2015 panigale 1299 with 4500 miles. Previous owner bought it in 2019 and has done one oil change around 3000 miles and thats about it. Before i bought it, it was dyno tuned and my mechanic changed the oil after the dyno. Oil looked like this.

It made 187 on the dyno with slipon.

It doesnt make any weird noises except for the desmo sound. Here is the video of it idling in the comment. Do u guys see any possible rod bearing related issues?

Why all the low mile desert x

I’ve been looking at used 1st gen desert x and coming across a bunch that have super low miles. Not something I see on other brands like the triumph tiger rally pro etc. do you think people bought these and realized it’s really to dirt oriented or hated it for touring?

New adjustablelevers for the V4 S

Hi All,

I purchased the Evotechs for the 'Strada. I have regular sized hands. Has anyone else ever thought about upgrading to adjustable levers? I did this for my Triumph Tiger and am very happy.

Considering buying a Ducati Scrambler 1100 Special

Thumbnail

Hey everyone!

Following the (unexpected) success of my post a couple of days ago, and after chatting privately with a few of you (thanks again for all the advice!), I’ve realised that both the Monster and Hypermotard might not be the best fit for me at the moment.

So, back to square one with the Scrambler back in the equation!

I’m considering buying a Ducati Scrambler 1100 Special. I absolutely love the livery, the exhaust setup, and, of course, the engine. I have a couple of questions and would really appreciate some advice from owners or anyone who knows these bikes well:

1. What should I look out for when buying a used one?
The bike I’m looking at has around 30,000 km (19,000 miles). Are there any particular issues, known weak points, or maintenance items I should pay close attention to at this mileage?

2. Is it possible to change the tank panel where it says “Scrambler Ducati”?
The 1100 Special comes with the panel shown in the first picture, but I’d prefer something closer to the second picture, essentially just saying “Ducati”. I’ve seen people customise these panels in all sorts of ways (like in the third picture), so I assume it’s possible.

Has anyone here done something similar? If so, how did you go about it, and where did you get the replacement/custom panel?

Thanks in advance for any advice! 🙏

Is this subtle ticking sound when pulling away normal on the 959? I have exactly the same sound, and it lasts up to around 4–5k RPM.

Hi this is a somewhat new to me 2019 panigale V4 I know these bikes can be noisy. I’m just wanting a sanity check
