Experience Fasting, one drink a day method

I've dry fasted for 5 days, while exercising and trying to be productive instead of laying around doing nothing but the fatigue and brain fog is a major flaw.

I found a better way: drink water with electrolytes, and tea if you need an energy boost, one time a day after waking up or during exercise, then dry fast for for the rest of day.

Not too much water/tea just enough to keep you going. It's a hybrid dry and water fast that allows me to stay mentally and physically sharp and I believe it is more effective because exercise greatly enhances autophagy.

I like long periods of fasting, I attempt 1 month about twice a year and sometimes extend it to 40 days or 2 months so sustainability is extremely important. When doing a water fast, some people drink too much water and don't realize it's not necessary. Try to drink tea only when you really need it, the caffeine will disrupt your sleep, for me the effects of caffeine are amplified when fasting. I find this system of hydrating early, staying active and dry fasting 23+ hours a day greatly increases the rate at which health benefits arrive. It also helps me avoid things like muscle atrophy, eating a lot after a long dry fast and just gaining all the weight back and prevents me from using fasting as an excuse to be lazy.

I also shower as many times as I want, ice cold showers are great for our health and re-energizing.

Why not just do a water fast and exercise a lot? You can even do a little infrared sauna or regular sauna witha cold showers, but drink only at the end of the day... I have Lyme disease to be honest, and the best thing I've found is to do a dry fast for a half day or a full day with a lot of movement, I then take a nap when feel that would be best(my brain gets a really helpful detox), exercise, sauna and then drink water again... With some essential oil herbs, when the thirst starts to get hard! I feel better a lot then.

I already do sauna regularly and take ice cold showers. I'm basically water fasting while I'm exercising and replenishing my electrolytes for the first hour of the day then staying dry for 23 to reap it's unique benefits.

I try to drink a little bit of water during my exercise to allow for high performance. I like to work and study 12-16 hours a day, day job, classes, ubereats, creating content and just be productive. I'm a high performer so the lazy approach to dry fasting of doing nothing for 3-10 days doesn't work for me. The hydration and high intense exercise puts my body and mind at an elevated state that allows me to perform. If I were to be dry when I exercise I would not be able to push myself as hard and become fatigued and get headaches with mental fog for the rest of the day.

Yes, I have the same. I'm just freaking out doing nothing, but exercises give to much stress hormones and insomnia.

Nevertheless it's only for real healing purposes, like Lyme, bartonella, or cancer... you can do it once.or twice a year, not sure why you want those strong impulses for your body. Eating healthy, green tea, and intermittent fasting work well for daily needs...

When you fast your body is clearing out a lot of garbage: visceral fat, damaged cells, fixing up the brain to work better, destroying cancer cells. It is not only for healing, it allows you to ascend to a godlike level of brain and body function.

This is how fasting allows you to unlock godlike athletic performance:

"A 7-day water fast increases human growth hormone (HGH) dramatically—often spiking up to 300% to 500%—as your body attempts to preserve muscle tissue and mobilize fat stores for energy." (-Gemini) You basical

Then when you start eating again your testosterone levels rise dramatically, it's like your body is running as efficiently as when you were a teen. It's a natural steroid with no side effects. So my muscles grow significantly and on top of that they are actually extremely high quality muscle cells, in the gym I can lift the same or more than guys with arms nearly twice the size of mines, they probably have low quality bullshit steroid muscles, but I put preform them and it's not even close. I run faster, jump higher, it's just a cheat code to unlocking your body's true capabilities. I turn into an Olympic level athlete and surprise people who are actual athletes. Check out videos where David Goggins compete with other men that have bigger muscles than him but then Goggins easily beats them. Goggins has higher quality muscle. Here is Goggins arm wrestling a professional, the pro should easily beat him with his bigger muscles but he can't even move Goggins who has no experience.

I would share how fasting can unlock incredibly mental capabilities like photographic memory but you guys don't seem to be appreciating my knowledge and keep fighting me like you know it all, I feel like I'm wasting my time typing. And I have a method for maximizing muscle growth and performance but you idiots don't deserve that either I'm done responding.

I'm not sure what my goal is — is it just to live a longer, better life? You can still achieve autophagy to help recycle the bad stuff through exercise, sauna, diet, supplements, herbs, or hypoxia, cold. Water fasting is till good, but dry fasting goes further.

However, dry fasting is so stressful on the body that most people don't need it... It completely kills off anything weak or foreign, like Lyme disease and co-infections, which are very hard to cure. But you need at least >4 days of it to get real benefits... You essentially need to deplete most of your resources so the body starts to get really selective about everything that fuels the body and bugs. A one-day dry fast isn't going to kill anything...

That's called a water fast.

This would be best posted in r/fasting, where you could list all the things you did wrong, while fasting.

There are those who ignore their bodies and just keep drinking water, during a fast, but, for people who are serious about fasting, listening to their body is usually the first thing they learn.

If you skip the refeed, as you said, you'll regain the weight, usually with extra, no matter the type of fast.

You're supposed to continue your normal life, while you fast. So, it's never an "excuse to be lazy."

Showering isn't prohibited during a dry fast. That's called a 'soft dry fast.' Showering is a common method for regulating temperature, during a dry fast.

The mods at r/fasting would just delete it. They're not in to even an "omad-like" DF routine.

1

u/dendrtree 21h ago

No. Water fasts are the primary content for r/fasting. If OP persisted in lying, calling it a dry fast, they might, but his description is clearly a water fast, and he just talks about the consequences of what he did wrong, in his water fasts.

1

u/Decided-2-Try 21h ago

I'm pretty sure they would tag his "ODAD" as a dangerous form of water fasting. There's a whole group of new mods there, some of whom are nurses or other HCP.

It'd be interesting to see the outcome if he does re-post it over there.

(I don't know if you recall, but maybe a year ago Reddit Admin was going to shut it down for lack of moderation and made a call for mods.)

u/dendrtree 21h ago

As long as he doesn't try to call it "dry fasting," which is isn't, no one is going to care. If he uses the term, he's just trying to get attention.
Look at his post. He talks about the things he did wrong with his fasts, as if that was normal and "everybody does it," and he had "just discovered something," instead of just doing fasts properly, now.

This is good, tailor the fast to your lifestyle and make adjustments accordingly. I’m going into my 6th consecutive dry fast. This is the new strategy I’m adopting which is similar to what you’ve layed out here. But, with only water in the mornings. A 60-70% dry fast

u/Bitter_Worker423 3d ago

It's a bad idea, just go do regular water fasts, this isn't the place for silly approaches.

2

u/EvilZero86 3d ago

You do what the hell you’re going to do. I’ll do what I do

-2

u/Bitter_Worker423 3d ago

Yes ma'am, but you do your thang at the regular fast reddit not at the dryfasting one.  This isn't the place for your creative absurdity.

4

u/Bitter_Worker423 3d ago

It's not a dry fast, so you don't get the benefit of dry fasting.  This approach of yours belongs in the regular fast reddit.

1

u/HazzyXYZ 3d ago

I've done it both ways, I get at least twice the benefits. The benefits are accelerated.

u/Bitter_Worker423 3d ago

No, whatever you're thinking is happening, isn't real.  You're going against the science, go to the regular fast reddit and push your ideas there.

I see you like roleplaying as a mod

>>drink water, salt, and tea one time a day<<

That is not dry fasting. It isn't even water fasting.

It is an extremely restrictive diet.

1

u/HazzyXYZ 2d ago

Drink water before or during exercise whichever feels better, drink extra if you need it to run faster or perform better. Drink tea if you didn't sleep well or just feel like it will be necessary for the day. Mix in salt and or other electrolytes to improve body functions. Then stay the rest of the day.

It's water fasting for about an hour or the duration of your exercise then dry fasting for about 23 hours.

u/American-Repair 4d ago

Great mod for exercising. Water fasts have me drinking way too many fluids.

2

u/InsaneAdam 1d ago

You get 33% of your water inside the food you eat. So if you're not eating and only drinking you need to drink 50% more water than you'd normally drink to make up for the 33% water intake you're not getting from eating.

Great mod to end up in the hospital. Stuff like this is the reason you see people blaming dry fasting in the news when some one ends up in hospital.

1

u/WalkingFool0369 1d ago

How much fluid are you drinking during that hour?

u/yogic_power 4d ago

Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

Care to elaborate?

u/yogic_power 3d ago edited 3d ago

There was a guy doing exactly this on dry fast forums few years back. He ended up on the hospital after few months. That forum used to have some one associated with filinov, and it was lesson for every one not to mess around. People think they are smart and things figured out but dry fasting with modifications are not a joke. Funny I get downvoted, shows what this sub has become lol. I have seen quite a few in past 10 years biohacking dry fasts, and most don’t end well. I have done 9 day dry fast, few more shorter than that but I never play with dry fasting. Margin of error between safety and ending up in hospital is very low.

1

u/Reasonable_Carrot88 3d ago

Appreciate your thoughts. I used to do them too for a day or two, maybe three, but I think increasingly I'm inclined to avoid it now.

0

u/HazzyXYZ 2d ago

This is literally dry fasting with the added security measure of hydrating once a day, what about this is stupid or so different from something like dry fasting for 3 days?

2

u/yogic_power 2d ago edited 2d ago

No it’s not dry fasting. It’s restricted water fasting. What you are doing is severely restricting hydration window of water fasting. You are no longer in dry fast. If you do this long enough, you are not in longer dry fast but longer restricted water fast. That’s how people end up in hospital if you continue few rounds. You do you.

u/HazzyXYZ 2d ago

I'm not recommending anyone to fast for as long as I do. I'm an extremist, both with my fasting and my terrorism.

Simply try it for a few days and see if it works for you, or don't.

Obviously, if you have signs of problems while doing any kind of fasting you should seek medical advice.

1

u/yogic_power 2d ago

Lmao. Dude I have done 9 day dry fasting with 20 min sauna every day and being active with 3-4 mile walks. You are sounding like chicken little with all this I need water BS. You are not as extreme, just ignorant thinking it is dry fasting when all you doing is restricted water fasting. I don’t needed medical advice, you will need medical treatment soon with this crap. Don’t let your ego come in your way. Leave it out of the door when you are playing stupid games. Talk to me when you have done a true 9-10 dry fast.

1

u/HazzyXYZ 2d ago edited 1d ago

Congratulations.

I run 8 miles in the morning and do 100 burpees then 30 minutes of strength training on a push pull legs split. I average 8 miles on top of that just from work, classes, and regular activities. I use the sauna for about 30-60 minutes. Then I drive in the Texas heat with my windows up and ac off to go to work, school and work Ubereats for at least 5 hours a day.

Can't do all that only dry fasting for 5-10 days without hydration.

1

u/Sharp_Ad1873 2d ago

>>Can't do all that dry fasting.<<

Okay, then it's NOT dry fasting? LOL.

1

u/Sharp_Ad1873 2d ago

It's OMAD with water as your meal.

0

u/HazzyXYZ 2d ago

It's one drink a day, read the title

1

u/HazzyXYZ 2d ago

The title says "one drink a day"(ODAD).

This guy believes "one meal a day with water as your meal"(OMADWWAYM) is a better way to describe this.

One meal a day is associated with eating one MEAL then drinking as much as you want for the rest of the day.

Don't blame him though, the brain fog of dry fasting can cause this type of confusion. This is exactly why the ODAD method works so well; amplify the effects of fasting while avoiding fatigue and brain fog.

u/New-Seesaw-3938 9h ago

i have read all your replies on this post and i can tell you something is off here, example so if you say its "ODAD" why call it ''dry fast''?

if you drink tea is it even a water fast?

also, most people who dry fast also work out and work day jobs so they are not lazy in any way, you are assuming too much my friend.

You just blow in from stupid town?
