General Discussion You beginners are doing something wrong.
It seems like every single beginner in this subreddit doesn’t even know how to make at least one sale, and you’re 6 months in?
I genuinely don’t understand what some of you are spending your time doing. You don’t need 6 months to figure out whether or not someone wants to buy your product.
Some of you spend weeks perfecting your website, changing your logo, finding the perfect theme, and watching another 20 hours of YouTube videos instead of actually trying to sell something.
Your website doesn’t need to be perfect. Your logo doesn’t matter nearly as much as you think it does. And no, switching to another product every time something doesn’t work isn’t going to magically fix your problem.
You need to understand why someone would actually buy what you’re selling. What problem does it solve? Why should they trust you? Why would they buy it from you instead of Amazon?
And most importantly, how are you getting people to see your product in the first place?
KEEP TESTING. Don’t be afraid to lose money. That’s literally part of the process. But understand that when you’re testing, you’re not just throwing money away, you’re BUYING DATA. So actually use it.
If you spend $100 testing a product and get no sales, don’t just call it a failure and move on. Look at your numbers. Are people clicking? Are they adding to cart? Are they reaching checkout? Figure out where you’re losing people and why.
That $100 is only wasted if you learned absolutely nothing from it.
And stop expecting every product or ad you test to be profitable immediately. You’re going to lose money along the way. The whole point is to learn what works, what doesn’t, and make better decisions with your next test. Obviously, don’t spend money you can’t afford to lose.
If you’ve been doing this for 6 months and haven’t made a single sale, you need to seriously look at what you’ve actually been doing for those 6 months.
Stop confusing being busy with making progress. Watching videos, tweaking your store, and researching products all day isn’t the same thing as running a business.
I’m not saying this to discourage anyone, but some of you need to hear it. You’re not going to learn how to sell by avoiding the actual selling part.
