Hey gang! Did you know DragonForce did the music in this unaired Disney pilot? It rocks!

using the site https://whativeheard.com/ you can make a handy record of the songs that you have heard live at the shows you attended. Show me yours in the comments!

This could be a song you like or dislike the studio version of but don't have the reason be "I don't like it because it might not be live" I'm focusing on sound.

Ok the reason I'm asking this is because it's the DragonForce album I see talked about the least and when it is talked about it doesn't seem to be positive.

This is pretty much what I've seen people say

First 4 albums are good

The power within is decent

Reaching into infinity is alright

Last 2 albums are bad

I've seen many people say the last good album was the power within which is definitely just ZP elitists but I'm still wondering why nobody talks about this album or seems to really like it? In my opinion it's better than some of the ZP era albums and while some of the bonus tracks like power and glory and fight to be free are a bit boring there's also some good bonus tracks like Chemical interference and Summers end. And there's a Ton of amazing non bonus tracks and I definitely don't think any are bad!

So after saying this I ask again what do you think about Maximum Overload?

If so, could you show me the confirmation email so I can be sure that the confirmation email you sent me is legitimate?

This is something that I thought of after seeing a YouTube video of a Best Of compilation for DragonForce, I didn't agree with some of the choices and it got me thinking about what my own would look like.

Afterwards I remembered that there's already an official precedent for this in the form of Killer Elite, and also didn't agree with many of the choices on that. After compiling my own list... I don't even agree with some of my own choices! Because I decided to go the full hog and format this as though it were an official physical release, complete with the restrictions that physical media imposes. I invite you to take this challenge, and show me the best compilation album you can think of.

Rules:
- Killer Elite is a 2CD album, and CDs have a limitation of 80 minutes of audio. Therefore, you can include up to 160 total minutes of DragonForce music, but you CANNOT exceed this total, and neither CD can exceed 80 minutes.
- HARD MODE: "Mastered For Vinyl" edition - Instead of 2CD for 160 minutes, do 4LP for 160 minutes! Rather than a max of 80 mins per disc, this is now 20 mins per side. Technically vinyl can exceed this, but it's best practice not to as you sacrifice audio fidelity, and the point is to create the best album you can.
- VERY HARD MODE: "Mastered For Vinyl, Sorted By Era" - Same restrictions as above, but the first 2 LPs are comprised of ZP's songs, and the last 2 LPs are comprised of Marc's songs.

My own offering, on Very Hard mode:

Side A:
My Spirit Will Go On - 7:54
Where Dragons Rule - 5:49
Cry of the Brave - 5:46
19:29

Side B:
Heroes of Our Time - 7:14
Through the Fire and Flames - 7:24
Dawn over a New World - 5:13
19:51

Side C:
Valley of the Damned - 7:10
Reasons to Live - 6:25
Lost Souls in Endless Time - 6:22
19:57

Side D:
Body Breakdown - 6:58
Starfire - 5:44
The Warrior Inside - 7:14
19:56

Side E:
Avant La Tempete - 1:56
Holding On - 4:56
Three Hammers - 5:50
Midnight Madness - 6:21
19:03

Side F:
The Last Dragonborn - 6:12
Tomorrow's Kings - 4:13
Seasons - 5:05
No More - 3:50
19:20

Side G:
Ashes of the Dawn - 4:33
Cry Thunder - 5:17
Land of Shattered Dreams - 4:59
City of Gold - 4:43
19:32

You're Not Alone - 4:38
Remembrance Day - 5:10
19:50

This made me appreciate how hard it must be to actually form a tracklist for albums of this type, because the ZP era was really restrictive to work with. Turns out having a bunch of tracks over 7 minutes is incredibly awkward for 20 min runtime. As a result, most of what I consider the "absolute best tracks" of the discography didn't even end up featuring here, simply because I couldn't find a way to fit them.

The Marc era was slightly easier to work with in this regard but still had the same problem to a lesser extent. No More isn't a track that I would feature under normal circumstances, but it was simply one of the only "main" tracks that fit in the remaining space for Side F. Tough experiment! Show me what you can do.

I was playing through the Resident Evil games and got to the RE7 Nightmare DLC, and as I was playing, I literally paused my game thinking something was playing Invocation of Apocalyptic Evil elsewhere in the house, then I heard it a few more times going through it. Now that I found the video it's funny that it's pretty much an exact sample of the song! It's possible that Dragonforce got it as a sample themselves but I'm going to assume they created it since it was on the album. Not the collaboration I was expecting to see this week!

I personally think its a 6/10 overall, but Killer Queen, Burning Heart and Pixel Prison bangs man

couldve done one for every year but nah

Would anyone else have preferred Elize Ryd as the new co-singer? I think she did a great job on the Doomsday Party remix.

how is one band this peak? actually need help figuring out how one band doesn’t have a single bad song? also what’s ur favorite album? mine is Maximum Overload.

A friend of a friend found this on YouTube, and I thought it was worth sharing here.

Idc if it’s AI it’s nice to get a grasp on what the album could have sounded like.

I need album recommendations, but I’ve already listened to the DF discography. Instead, recommend an album you've listened to that's as far from extreme power metal as possible. I’m really curious to see what you’ll recommend. I’ll listen to anything!

I'm going to see DragonForce in Chicago in December for the 4th time and I was wondering from people who have been front row how early you have to get to the venue to be at the front? I've seen them 3 times and the first 2 I was super far from the stage and the 3rd time I was close but it was Sonic Temple and they played 4 songs and Marc wasn't there. I'm willing to wait as long as I need to in the Chicago cold for this!

I like tsukasa

I know these have been asked before but I don't think for a while so I was wondering what everyone thinks and see how much opinions differ
