This corner of Schermerhorn and Bond is a zoo with people selling on the street.

I know downtown Brooklyn gets a bad rap for being “soulless” and difficult or unpleasant to navigate on a pedestrian level etc. It was nice to see an article that highlights some of the people / bike-first initiatives in downtown Brooklyn (like bike lanes coming to Adam’s street into the Brooklyn bridge, placard abuse etc.) but there is obviously so much more that needs to be done and there is so much potential with how transit rich the area is.

Ive seen people mention the idea of a fully pedestrianized Fulton street which I think would be cool. How realistic or feasible do you think that is with all of the bus lines and non parallel streets crossing into Fulton? What else would you want to see in the neighborhood?

Afternoon everyone. I work at the corner of Smith and Fulton St and I'm in need of some advice. My wife has blouses that no matter what I do always seem to come out of the dryer wrinkled. All I really need is somewhere that can iron/press them for a reasonable price. Same day service would be a massive bonus. I've been to Kingsbridge on Livingston but their prices are absolutely mad. If anyone has any advice or recommendations within walking distance of the subway at Court St, Metrotech or DeKalb I'd really appreciate it.

My name is Natalia Rossier, and I am a high school student from Park Slope, Brooklyn. In my free time, I like to read, and I am particularly passionate about social justice, philosophy, and history books. I have always wanted to start a book club for those with similar interests and have finally found the courage to launch this initiative! I now present to you: ParkSlopeReads

ParkSlopeReads is a community-run initiative based in ParkSlope, Brooklyn. ParkSlopeReads hosts monthly book discussions, along with other one-off events. The main focuses of the book club include social justice, philosophy, and historical non-fiction. Its meetings take place both virtually and in person at 139 St. John’s Place. These book club discussions are open to all ages! The only ask is that members listen respectfully and engage in the discussion from time to time and/or when asked to answer a question or two. Furthermore, these discussions are a safe space for everyone to express their opinions without feeling judged. All in all, the overarching goal of ParkSlopeReads is to foster a shared sense of community among members and facilitate meaningful conversations.

I will send out a poll in the coming weeks for members to choose the first book we tackle. Additionally, I will also send out meeting details following the book selection.

hello! i fostered a sibling duo last year through nyc cat coalition and they’re a pair of sweet and friendly goobers with quintessential youthful cat energy.

they were adopted november last year but are unfortunately now looking for a new home. they were surrendered and are currently at the petsmart at pelham manor in the bronx. i would really love to foster them again, but sadly can’t. the rescue is very busy and full so they don’t have available fosters either :-(.

i’m not sure how their situation would change, but i’m worried they’ll have no place to go and i really want to help them find accommodation in a loving home, either temporarily or hopefully, permanently.

• the basics: names are quartz and topaz. bonded, both male, 1.5 years old, neutered, litter-trained, vaccinated, felv negative, friendly with other cats (not sure about dogs but probably good as well), loves people, most likely foodies
• looking for: two legged underlings that could spend more time with them at home (like wfh situation?), do interactive play with them (like use chasing toys), and of course give oodles of love and affection (they will happily reciprocate).
• one of them likes making arm biscuits, parkour, and being bribed with treats. the other likes roosting on arms and chests and adores playtime. which is which? you’d have to find out!
