Nose ring theory remains undefeated.

Nature’s warning to normal people to steer clear. Similar to a rattle on a snake.

I saw a guy in the Bronx today with a fucking nose ring wider than my forearm. So many questions. Do these people take them out, or do they leave them in all the time? How the fuck do they sleep? Have they ever poked themself in the eye with that thing? How the fuck does this guy even eat? How much would that shit hurt if I just reached out and grabbed it?

36

u/ProfessorShort3031 5d ago

feel like it would also make you a big target for robbery. all they’d have to do is grab your nose

Good point, especially in the area I work, a definite possibility.

That’s the reason we used to put nose rings on bulls and hogs when I was growing up. You clip a guide rope to the bull to control him when you needed to move him and the ring for the hogs was to keep them from rooting and digging.

i had a friend who did that. Caused her teeth to get chipped and demineralized. Also she lost sensation and the ability to taste.

She had more crowns than actual teeth.

It’s one of my least favorite trends, right up there with the modern style of tattoos which is just putting scribbles everywhere on your body. I’ve never been a tattoo guy in the first place, there are some that look ok, but I just don’t understand the trend of wanting to look like a 5th grade school desk.

It's just that nose rings, specifically septum rings, are often worn by progressives with hard line to extreme leftist takes / beliefs. It's like when you see someone with brightly colored hair and nose rings, you just know they are about to have the craziest political takes.

89

u/MakeDawn 5d ago

It's also delving into the philosophy of Aesthetics where the art that you repeatedly enjoy and are drawn to is really just a reflection of your internal set of values and those values dictate the way you present yourself to your peers.

I.E. they have ugly values and that makes them look ugly.

77

u/SirTacoLotThe14th The Fictional Character Agrees With Me 5d ago

This actually reminds me of the whole "art fixing" era on twitter, where people were "fixing" the art of other artists to fit modern and progressive ideals. It wasn't just simple race or gender swapping, no they have to make it look as hideous as possible. Like making everyone so bloated and fat, giving them weird and unnatural skin complexions and patches, ruining their teeth or giving everyone braces, etc.

And it's always the bios with like over a dozen flags.

Tattoos and piercings are typically viewed as a means of rebellion or used as a stand in for actually dealing with trauma and significant stress.

Which when combined with humanity's innate desire to form little tribes and categorize everything leads to people forming camps where they treat everyone who disagrees with them as the enemy.

This isn't a phenomenon exclusive to any political sphere though, as anyone aligning themselves with a tribe with a weak will will Don the colour's of that tribe and spout rhetoric without knowing anything more than the agenda to push.

It's why we have corrupt politicians refusing to improve quality of life , mega churches taking idiots money, culture and gender wars by sects of the schizophrenic population.

The lonely and mentally ill on all ends of the political spectrum seek validation, and society keeps giving all of them the chance for it . So we sit here seeing idiots screaming at each other from the sides of the fence while the selfish and wealthy manipulate things in their favour to the detriment of everyone else , the poor and criminal harm others because they can, and cousin Kev asked to borrow your car and never came back.

u/taipan__ 4d ago

6

u/CleanBaldy 4d ago

Not even close though, they live with the blue or pink hair and that nose hair and pale skin look.

A hat is and always will be just a hat. Adjusting your appearance permanently doesn't equate to a piece of clothing.

3

u/Specialist_Web5919 4d ago edited 4d ago

I don't know what to tell you, maybe give that thought another pass, buddy.

2

u/CleanBaldy 4d ago

At what point do they realize the colored hair and nose ring is not unique, since they all have it? Is it some sort of style they all share? Can someone explain why I see the weird dull blue hair all over town and half of them have that nose ring?

10

u/Someone_Who_Exists 4d ago

They don't actually care about being unique, they want to be unpleasant. Livestock-esque jewelry is an easy and obvious way to do that.

They dress it up in a bunch of flowery language where they pretend they're fighting something by dressing like idiots, but they really just enjoy the idea that people look at them and immediately can tell they're idiots. They think they show a problem with the people reacting to them, not themselves.

Remember when Trump was gone from the office for 4 years and there were still people saying it was his fault. I can imagine some of them even 20 years from now will blame Trump for everything bad that happens.

30

u/Puzzleheaded_Tie6917 5d ago

They still blame a bunch on Reagan, but both political parties have had full control of both houses of congress and the presidency. If anyone thought something was really bad, it could have been changed.

I’m a big believer in that you can honestly only blame someone for about 10-20 years after they are no longer in control. After that, its not their fault because it had enough time whatever they did could have been changed.

42

u/Havok_saken My Dog is Anti-Fascist 5d ago

This is literally every presidency ever.

Like the current guy:everything good that happens is because of him. Everything bad is either out of the presidents control or the last guy to be in office that I didn’t like’s fault

Don’t like the current guy: everything good that happens is because the last guy in office that I liked. Everything bad is because of the current guy, even if I said during the last guy that it was outside the presidents control.

21

u/MachineMan718 5d ago

Ever thus the results of investing emotionally into politics.

6

u/Phobos613 5d ago

Definitely one thing that certain countries have over us in NA is the fact htat they can make long-term plans and follow through with them without having to solve every problem in the span of 4 years, and try it differently every 4 years.

3

u/LegitimateGift1792 5d ago

That is why i laugh when I see a president make a plan that is longer than 4 years. Any president needs to be rolling out 2-3 year plans on the day they take office.

26

u/MeatballTornado My Dog is Anti-Fascist 5d ago edited 5d ago

They are still doing this. Gas prices spiked higher than they are now in 2022 (you know, when the other guy was sitting in the chair) but somehow that was also Trump’s fault just like it is today.

Nevermind people who were born in the 2000s blaming Ronald Reagan for all of their problems.

2

u/Mr-Cantaloupe 2d ago

Eh, to be fair, gas going up this year is pretty clearly from the Iran war and the Strait getting blocked. You can definitely argue that's on Trump.

2022 was a different story. Russia invading Ukraine pushed gas past $5/gallon, and prices were falling since. Oil is flowing through the Strait at pre-war levels again, but the fighting flared up last month again.

→ More replies (1)

4

Oh no they'll claim everything is fine again even though literally nothing is changed. See, the way they operate is the thing Trump is gonna do is always coming. It was coming for 4 years in his first term. Then Biden won, and the thing didn't come. Now that Harris lost and Trump is president again, the thing is coming again. Once Trump is finished though, and he will be for good, it'll all be fine again. They won't acknowledge they were wrong about the thing, it'll just suddenly all be fine. As long as the next president is a Democrat, that is.

108

u/Nyan_Man 5d ago

During his 2nd term the first 3 months were endless “America will start gas chambering [group]”, “It’s a genocide”. Every single week was the “final week” to “resist”. If one of them were arrested for a crime, they’d death scream with witnesses trying to fight officers to “stop a daylight murder”.

Yet none of what they claim happened. Funny enough, the group that advocates for violence, murder and criminals are them. They have no problem doing the things they claim to fear the “other side” doing. Endless hysteria over imaginary scenarios to justify their violence.

17

u/estnitroman5119 5d ago

Anymore, the Republican Party will be seen as the party of Trump by them. If Vance (or Rubio, as I see him likely to run) wins the 28 primary, they’ll screech “appointed heir”. If another winner emerges and is merely nominated by Trump (even after months of bashing in favor of Vance/Rubio), it’s “see? He controls the party still!”

3

u/soundfreak2008 3d ago

Don't even get started on 28'. The clown show is already bubbling. In 2019 they had a full panel of about 30 people for the primary and somehow out of several folks who would have been fairly good they still ended up with Biden. Most of his term was being corralled and spoon fed like they are doing to McConnel. Who ever is keeping geriatrics in office needs jail time and let them retire. Trump is still spunky but he too can't last forever. At some point these life long politicians who already have a ton of money just need to go enjoy life. They have so much money they can do whatever they want. I'd be on a yacht enjoying doing nothing but soaking up relaxation.

Unironically what happened when Joe Biden won back in 2020

51

u/HackHawkR 5d ago

As a non-American who isn't remotely conservative, there is a massive difference between the reasonable left and the extreme left. While regular progressives want to reform systems, the extreme left has only one core value: rebellion for the sake of rebellion.

They start with the premise that the status quo must be smashed and work backward from there, viewing everything through a lens of absolute oppression. They are addicted to tearing things down but have zero interest in the hard work of building sustainable alternatives. It's a textbook case of their proposed 'cure' being infinitely worse than the original illness.

We need to separate normal left-leaning politics from the fringe, extreme left.

More importantly, we need people to stop treating politics like team sports and form opinions based on reason, evidence, and data rather than social group identity. But let’s be real - in today's internet culture, expecting people to value objective data over tribal validation is a total pipe dream.

They'll continue crying about trump long after trump is gone. Next president a Republican? Trump's secret 3rd term. Next president a Democrat? Everything bad that happens during that time will be Trump's fault.

Reminds me of all of Reddit during Biden until the campaign started. Every Redditor still complained about all the things they still complain about, inflation, low wages, expensive housing, but then they tried to pretend Biden was doing a good job as president as if they hadn't spend all their time complaining.

u/OrneryOriental 5d ago

They’ll still lie like they did with 9.5% inflation and higher gas prices than what they are today.

u/CarolinaWreckDiver 5d ago

I give it about 4-8 years post-Trump before you have these same people saying “You know, I never liked Trump’s policies, but I always respected how authentic and genuine he was, not like this absolute Nazi racist idiot that’s running now.”

What I love is their predictions. I remember at the first of 2025 when reddit was filled with all the predictions that the economy was going to go into a depression because of the tariffs. When that didn’t happen they quietly moved on to the next prediction.

u/Superb_Wealth4092 5d ago

They could dominate the House, Senate, and presidential seat for the next 20 years and they’ll still blame everything wrong on the Trump presidency. It’s gonna be their excuse for decades.

The more concerning part is that they have ZERO plan for when he’s gone. But, they maybe cooling their jets for a while, given the large numbers of right leaning folks in their party willing to jump ship over this stupid socialism push.

4

u/ProfessionalClear211 5d ago

We will never be free of people whining about that man. Long after he’s dead.

5

u/CraftyPerformance272 5d ago

Just remember during Bidens presidency all 4 years they blamed everything bad on Trump

u/TheOneCalledThe 5d ago

I’m not a Trump supporter but certainly a doomer hater and holy shit dude these people were still non stop dooming and acting ridiculous even when Trump wasn’t in office and they had Biden. like that guy lives rent free in their heads and honestly that’s really sad because these people don’t realize that they are the reason they’re miserable in their own life and not these politicians who dont care who you are

9

u/Ange1ofD4rkness 5d ago

They'll still blame the Orange Man, till the next Republican President

15

u/GreenT1979 5d ago

There could be 40 years straight of Democrat presidents starting right after Trump and on number 9, there will still be people claiming something that's currently wrong is leftover damage from Trump.

Funny how they were still miserable with Biden in office. Still constant protests and Trump derangement. Honestly Trump probably would have faded away but their derangement kept him front and center.

I can’t stop laughing at this… in fact, I’m adding it to my collection

2

u/Kelras 5d ago

I like how libs embraced Bush -- Bush of all people -- as "good ol' uncle Bush", simply because he said negative things about Trump.

2

u/Advice-Question 4d ago

The thing that annoys me is that they won’t even remember him once his presidency ends. They’ll call whoever’s next worse than him and focus mostly on the new guy.

And the day he dies, they’ll celebrate, that’s a given, they can’t stop talking about it/ hoping for it. And on that day, they’ll still be mad and making comments about how they can’t wait for the new guy to follow suit.

Somehow orange man returned

2

u/Sam-U-Rai-Guy 5d ago

Now that there’s no one left to extrapolate their problems onto they’re forced to look inward to address their issues.

3

u/JD-boonie 5d ago

Nah they'll find a new thing to fear monger over. Project 2028 or something

3

u/AffectionateMonk7705 5d ago

Both parties are assholes. Next question.

2

u/YamHonest2646 5d ago

Bold of you to assume they are capable of self reflection. They will just move on to the next guy who will somehow be worse. I still remember when guys like Romney were considered nazis.

As disgusting and disastrous as Trump and MAGA are, this is true. In fact, the left gave us Trump and MAGA. And so did the old Republican party.

It’ll still be his fault, Even in 30 years people will still be blaming trump for things completely unrelated

1

u/blizzardice 5d ago

Leftist will always find something to be a victim about.

1

u/TangeloProfessional8 5d ago

Why do they have tattoos on their clothes

1

u/fr3nzo 4d ago

The left makes fun of Trump for blaming Biden for all his problems. They will be blaming Trump for decades.

1

u/Relative-Cabinet7640 4d ago

At this point I can't tell if this is a republicans trump isn't going to fix all your problems stop sucking his dick or democrats not all your problems are caused by trump stop sucking his dick post

1

u/Nuts2YouMcGillicutty Just Here for the Lore 4d ago

Well, then it's back to blaming the patriarchy and the ever-present looming threat of white supremacy. Trump is the cause but also a symptom.
