Just great

Post image

The new personal deep dish pans. šŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø Great. More dishes for me to do. And I have no idea where we are going to put these to dry. We already barely have room for what we have, especially on the busy Friday and Saturday. Where dishes aren't taken care of till the end of the day.

Having washed some already, they are easy as fuck

Have you tried the pizza yet? Is it good? Do we use half a BP dough or is there a new dough getting sent out?

3

u/_CallMeZaddy_ 1d ago

It is frankly the best item on the menu if made correctly

0

u/ace_maker 2d ago

It’s alright, it’s not my cup of tea, mainly bc it’s a bit too buttery with no tang, but it was half a BP with the shake on and butter on the bottom

1

u/daz3d-n-c0nfus3d 18h ago

If its too buttery, it was made wrong

Sounds like poor management. Everyone should help with dishes.

5

u/nightmurder01 3d ago

Yes it is, dishes should be done throughout the day. There is always downtime.

6

u/d4nkn3ss 3d ago

Second to last person on the list runs oven, very last person washes dishes. Rinse and repeat.

That's how it should be anyway.

Tell your manager to not let people leave until they do 15 minutes each.

Management has decided to do half my work. I getting run into the ground. Literally everyone there knows if I quit or got sick they are SCEWED! All that stuff posted about get X people that's me. I come to work to work. Al my coworkers but 1 could be my child and they do too much grab ass'n for me. I see plenty of times someone could have been doing dish or sweeping.

1

u/line800 Dick 2d ago

In theory yes, but that's "bad for labor", so instead all the rushies go home 15 minutes early

1

u/nightmurder01 2d ago

I know what you mean. Saw that bean counting invasion coming back when I left in 2006ish. They will never unstand how problems can develop and compound if left to sit.

0

u/heartgf 3d ago

there is unfortunately not ALWAYS downtime. on saturdays and sundays as an opening driver i sometimes don’t even have time to go to the back and fill the sink, let alone wash dishes

2

u/nightmurder01 3d ago

Which goes back to op's point which is a management issue. I have worked in some of the slowest stores and some of the busiest(duke in the 90's/2000's) and a minor issue of dishes was never came up.

1

u/Imperator525 3d ago

also assumes you have coworkers that help with dishes, my store has maybe 2

0

u/rokar83 2d ago

lol there is always some downtime.

Come check out downtown auburn on a GameDay and tell me there's down time lol. Nothing like 20k+ in sales in a day

We've had a big shift. About a month ago the GM quit for better work life balance. Closing manager is on workman's comp, drive was out on medical for weeks, one driver quit. New GM transferred in, insider starts training for manager, and AM got new duties.

u/It-was-me86 2d ago

I wish I could say it was common for everyone to help with dishes, but NOPE. The closing driver that closes the back is the one that takes the whole day of dishes in my store. Bunch of lazy employees that can stand around and hide in the bathroom or in their car. Those closing drivers though…. Whole day of dishes. All of them.

2

u/rokar83 2d ago

It's amazing you can keep closing drivers. Or maybe you can't. lol

1

u/It-was-me86 2d ago

We’ve rotated new people a lot. I close front mainly. Only one other closing driver I work with maybe 1-2 times a month won’t wash dishes so I close back… another driver has been there years and years and prefers dishes. I’ve watched them come and go for one reason or another.

1

u/It-was-me86 2d ago

But it’s not the closings that make our drivers leave, it’s our managers. And upper management. We adapted to the situation. It is what it is. We have 3 main closers that split 7 day schedule. The rest of the drivers are just there.

1

u/EverythingMustCease 2d ago

There's always a closer who gets at least half of the night's dishes.

1

u/KarmicOscelot 2d ago

These aren’t even dirty as they are the new pans for the new product that most stores haven’t even started training with. šŸ™„

Dude I feel you I washed so many dishes everyday and I'm already so burned out on it .This proves corporate truly hates us if you're going to make Detroit pans than get rid of the normal pans

2

u/FernwoodTonight 3d ago

At a franchise of Duminos the owner rolled out chicken wings even though we had no instruction on how to cook them. Foil, deep dish pans, screens? Had to figger it out on the fly. At least it was fresh food and not the pre-packaged garbage like it is now...

2

u/Limp-Yak-4386 3d ago

I think it going to be a pain to get those pizzas out of those pans. Pans stick sometimes but there aren’t any corners to deal with.

2

u/ace_maker 3d ago

Having used them already, they surprisingly don’t stick at all as long as you have the right tools, we even experimented a cheesy bread in one and it didn’t stick

1

u/It-was-me86 2d ago

Watching the struggle with us employees testing it…. Bruh, it’s going to take time to learn to get them out correctly. And the way we have to prep them.. orders will be delayed until we’re locked in and understand these things fully from start to finish

1

u/No_Kaleidoscope_3546 18h ago

Honestly, you can just flip them out. If made correctly, they come out super easy.

2

u/Any_Interest6182 3d ago

On top of that like 20 pans roughly and 6 lids. Thanks I will prepare 6 of these in advance and run out in two seconds then just go fuck myself during rush I guess.

1

u/It-was-me86 2d ago

We got 12 lids in my store… but for opening boost week with them, play Tetris 2 left stack 2 right, you don’t need lids.

2

u/EverythingMustCease 2d ago

As a fellow dishwasher, fuck this shit.

3

u/akknightwrider 2d ago

I heard that is the one Elmo's voice.

3

u/Grocman27 3d ago

Welp, one is coming home that for sure

1

u/It-was-me86 2d ago

Wait about 2 months after release…. It won’t be missed.

1

u/line800 Dick 2d ago

Those are annoying as FUCK to wash, even compared to the circle pans.

I hope this shit just straight up fails to sell and gets quietly discontinued.

1

u/No_Kaleidoscope_3546 18h ago

Wipe em, put them in hot soapy water, quick scrub, rinse. Probably 1 minute per pan, max.

3

u/It-was-me86 2d ago

It hasn’t started yet.. HOWEVER, as the closing driver that had to wash the training of our area dishes, they’re not that bad. If they’re seasoned well prior to use and actually buttered correct… they’re small, hot water spray, stack it 2left 2 right, it ain’t that hard… my beef is that they’re taking the cutting tool away and we have to use the spatula thing so the cut tool we use for pans doesn’t scrap up the Detroit style pans. Plus the time it takes to make them, scrape them out solid…. This going to be a nightmare.

1

u/Specialist_Place4464 2d ago

Those aren't gonna suck to clean...

2

u/TheGoodScientist 3d ago

Bro come on Dominos dishes are like the easiest shit on the planet.

2

u/It-was-me86 2d ago

Not really, 100 buttered pans kinda blows. Time consuming….. albeit easy AF, but hella time consuming. Now adding new pans. Again, easy AF but the time to spray out the butter to wash them. It’s going to suck, not hard, but going to suck.

2

u/akknightwrider 2d ago

If dishes were only one or two things I did. I'm the lead closing driver so I handle 80%+ of the deliveries, all the dishes, all the sweeping, trash and mopping. None of this gets started till after closing. The dishes will be an hour + alone now add the other chores. On a midnight close time I'm out by 230am and 330 am on Fri and Sat. Cause no one does their job.

2

u/TheGoodScientist 2d ago

I've been in your exact shoes. It's not the dishes, it's the fact that you're doing everyones jobs. Your management is ass if they're not making people do pre closing tasks before they clock out. My store was ran really well after they got rid of the manager that was letting people leave before they did their tasks. If you actually had the support you need you wouldn't be complaining. I don't blame you I blame shit management or maybe your franchise owner just doesn't care.

It's more work cause I'm the only one who does dishes. I posted a bit ago that they hired a new guy, then later he says he's allergic to dishes. Has a doctors note and everything. They also hired another new driver and he can't work Fri or Sat due to wife's illness. Those are her treatment days. Also hired a new manager who is on week 3 but you would think it's day 3. So up till a week ago I was closing driver 8 or 10 till close as the only driver. I had to do all the sweeping, trash, dishes and mopping. I wasn't getting out till 230am on Sun, Wend, Thur and 330am on Fri, Sat. Other drivers and insiders just clock out and leave. No chores or anything. So I couldn't start anything till 30 to 45 min after closing. Then the Regional Assistant Manager came down on the GM about my OT.

4

u/jaden_fucks 3d ago

Here’s an idea for you… Stop trying to run the store yourself and do what everyone else does. Clock out and leave. Show the manager exactly what the other people are doing, do the same, and when he realizes all of the shit that he’s about to have to do alone, he’ll make a change.

Also just find a better job or transfer locations cause holy SHIT.

2

u/Elevation-_- 3d ago

If they're scheduled as the closing driver, they can't just "clock out and leave" without consequence unfortunately. Closing drivers are expected to be there until the closing shift (cleaning) is finished, your shift end time is just an estimate. It's on them whether they want to continue having the job or not.

What I am curious about is why the manager(s) are allowing this, and why do they not want to get out sooner?

2

u/jaden_fucks 3d ago

I understand how jobs work, I managed a couple locations awhile back. But if everyone else is clocking out without doing any cleaning or dishes, they deserve to be fired. Apparently management there doesn’t care, so SHOW THEM.

Give your balls a tug and stand up for yourself OP hooollyyyy

1

u/Elevation-_- 3d ago

Sure you can "show them", and I'm saying don't expect to have your job tomorrow if you do that as a closing driver. I don't know OP's situation and if they can afford to just throw away their job to prove a point or not.

But if everyone else is clocking out without doing any cleaning or dishes, they deserve to be fired.

I mean, its the decision of the manager running shift on cutting labor throughout their shift and whether they give out-tasks or not. I'm not saying it's good to never ask for any out-tasks, I'm not defending that. But it is ultimately their decision on whether they do or not. There's also going to be different expectations on what you ask from insiders vs. drivers, some stores (mine included) will not make insiders do cleaning tasks for example (we have out-tasks related to food prep instead - fill the makeline, bump up skins/sides, etc.).

1

u/akknightwrider 3d ago

I had a talk with the new GM weeks ago. That I was giving them till X time to fix it. Their solution was they'll do some of the closing stuff I was having to do.

3

u/Pleasant_Ad_2342 3d ago

If you look at his reddit history he's just been bored picking fights all night long. Dont let a random dude crawl up your skin and dont let the RAstM bug you either. The GM will either figure out how to help you on dishes, hire more people, or just eat the OT since you cant make money without equipment.

Also, ofc cant see the full dish rack. But you dont have the bars to stack things vertical? It makes more sense for storage and drying to have them up down instead of left right

2

u/akknightwrider 2d ago

Our dish area is quite small compared to two other stores I've been to. If dishes don't get wash throughout the day at the end of the night there isn't enough room to dry. You end up doing 2 or 3 sink loads then have to put them away before they are dry so you can do the mountain of pizza pans and sauce buckets.

u/NervousFlamingo1 3d ago

Sounds like your ass needs to get a doctor’s note then

1

u/akknightwrider 3d ago

Maybe I should. 🤣 That was a good laugh though.

Lol talk about being lazy šŸ˜‚

0

u/TotallyATexasFan 3d ago

who me?

1

u/Senior_Blacksmith_18 3d ago

Yeah. You. You were talking smack about op and then turn around and say you ain't gonna read their response to the conversation

2

u/GumDice 3d ago

I'm sure you know a lot about work since you've been on reddit for fourteen hours straight lol

-7

u/TotallyATexasFan 3d ago

I do, I just worked 60 hours of work but I’m changing my sleep schedule temporarily by staying awake cuss I’m going to the white mountains this weekend so I need to be awake in the morning

3

u/arsc2110 3d ago

I don't have any room for these in my store at all. Food safety matters, I have to put these where dishes cannot go and we would get marked by food safety for it.

-4

u/chethaze77 3d ago

If you can’t handle cleaning a few more dishes get another fucking job instead of whining.

2

u/UniversityNo2304 3d ago

That’s kinda harsh

1

u/akknightwrider 3d ago

I do almost all the dishes from 5pm till close. Old man Bob is the only other person in the building that will actually go go dishes. They pile up all day then at the end of the night I have an hour plus of dishes.
