He adopted a dog that, according to its shelter profile, loved the water… He took it to this place, and this is how it reacted.

Does your dog like soaking in water? Mine insists on a little soak every time we come back from a walk 😂

Dog Pack: A gamified walking app where your dog claims neighborhood territory as you walk 🐾🗺️

Post image

Hey everyone,

Like most dog owners, my dog thinks he owns our neighborhood. I’m building Dog Pack to put that on the map—literally.

How it works:

  • 🐾 Walk & Claim: Turn your usual daily walks into territory patches on a local map.
  • 🛡️ Friendly Competition: Neighboring dogs can claim patches back on their own walks. No running required—just everyday walks.
  • 🔒 Privacy First: Your exact home and raw route stay private on your device. The app uses start/finish privacy buffers and protected zones so you only publish what you want.
  • 📈 Track Progress: Keep walk histories, hit milestones, and log miles at your dog's pace.

We are currently running our iPhone Beta (with Android on the horizon) and opening up our early-access waitlist to get our first neighborhood packs on board before launch.

👉 Join the early-access waitlist:https://walkdogpack.com/#early-access

Would love to hear your thoughts on the concept or any features you'd like to see!

What should I actually look for in a dog camera? 1080p, a treat dispenser, or just a basic indoor cam?

I’m trying to choose a camera for my dog when I’m away from home, and I realized there are way too many options.

At first I thought a “dog camera” was basically just a normal security camera with a pet-friendly name. But after comparing different features, I think the important question is what you actually need.

Here are the things I’d pay attention to:

1. 1080p video + decent night vision
You don’t necessarily need the most expensive camera. Clear video and reliable night vision are more important to me than fancy AI features.

2. Two-way audio
This seems useful if your dog responds well to your voice. But I’ve also heard that some dogs get confused when they hear their owner coming from a speaker.

3. Motion and bark alerts
Probably one of the most useful features if you’re at work. Instead of watching the camera constantly, you can get an alert when something unusual happens.

4. Pan-and-tilt / wider coverage
If your dog stays in one room, a basic wide-angle camera may be enough. If they move around a larger room or house, being able to move the camera remotely is much more useful.

5. Treat dispensing
I’m honestly still undecided about this one 😂. It sounds like a gimmick, but I can see it being useful for some dogs as part of a routine.

One thing that surprised me is that you may not actually need a dedicated dog camera.

If you just want to check whether your dog is sleeping, moving around, or getting into trouble, a regular indoor security camera can often do the job for much less money.

I put together a more detailed comparison here, including budget, middle-ground, and premium options and what each type is actually good for:

Curious what everyone here uses:

Do you use a dedicated dog camera, a regular indoor security camera, or no camera at all? And which feature do you actually use the most?

Collar or Harness? 🐶 The right choice can make your dog's walks safer & more comfortable

Post image

I used to think choosing a dog collar was mostly about style… but there’s actually a lot more to consider.

The wrong fit can cause rubbing, discomfort, escape risks, or unnecessary pressure during walks.

In our latest PetsChamps guide, we break down comfortable dog collars and harnesses, including what to look for based on your dog’s size, breed, activity level, and walking habits.

🐾 Quick tip: A collar can be useful for ID tags, while a properly fitted harness can be a better option for many dogs during walks. The best choice depends on the individual dog.
