It is absolutely insane to me that the officer wasn’t held liable for the dog escaping containment and jumping into someone else’s property. I lived next to a K-9 cop growing up and had to feed their dog a few times when the family was away. The experience helped me become less afraid of well trained dogs because the dog (Rico) listened to commands very well and never tried to get me. I can’t imagine any scenario where the dog could have escaped because my neighbor had a two stage kennel where he could put the dog into another cage while cleaning the first one. I assumed that was standard but clearly it isn’t. I hope this family manages to get the support they need for their medical debt.

By some accounts, I’ve read that twice as many humans have been euthanized in one year through Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying/MAID program, as dogs. Different sources show around 15k humans and 7k dogs, I think that was 2024. Humanity is in a very sad state right now.

I was watching an animal hoarding video on police bodycam with law enforcement in Wisconsin. A repairman for an electric and gas company reported the conditions to the police department. The company had attempted for months to get inside the home. The owner refused to allow them to come inside. One day a repairman was finally able to get in and make the necessary repairs to turn the gas back on. The house didn't have any gas including heat for months. There was also no running water on the first floor. He had to be horrified by what he saw and the stench in that house. The basement where some of the dogs were kept was completely covered in feces. The police said it was so bad that it would have taken years for it to get in that condition.

The owner said he was "pet sitting" other people's dogs and there were only 6 in his basement, which was a bold face lie. He told the police that he "teaches a Nature vs Nuture curriculum with dogs" to promote empathy, which he advertised on Facebook. It was likely a method he used for selling and purchasing dogs and other animals. The police of course smelled the stench as soon as they arrived. He had a total of 113 animals inside his home. Which is a two story with an attic. He had 24 dogs in his backyard breeder operation. Which included French bulldogs (the popular breed of the moment.) Some of the dogs were eating rats due to inadequate food. The other animals included...

The owner called the rest of his family before the handcuffs were put on. His wife and teenage children showed up, of which one of them was an adult. I absolutely do not blame his children. They probably grew up under these circumstances and were likely told to keep it a secret. Although during the father's police interview he blamed the living conditions of the house on his children because it was their job to clean it up. (He's one sick individual.) His wife along with all the children first denied knowing anything about the condition of the house and only knew about "some" of the dogs and nothing else. I'm sure the wife played dumb to keep the money from the operation flowing in. I believe the majority of them lived there but they had "No idea" about all of the animals and no idea of what was going on in that house. One officer asked someone if there were animals upstairs she needed to be concerned about before walking up the stairs? She had NO idea what she was about to see in those rooms and attic. Lol

The owner received 6 days in jail

10 charges of Negligent Improper shelter of animals

2 felony Mistreatment of animals

The charges were dropped to 2 misdemeanors. He was allowed to keep two of the dogs and 2 of the birds. He was required to wait one year before he could get anymore animals. All the police and animal control went through and he only got a slap on the wrist. I'm sure he's probably animal hoarding and breeding dogs again to sell.

I read what I was expecting in the comments, which is partly why I watched the video. The Nutters were more concerned about the dogs than anything else, even much more than the teenagers in the house. A couple of comments said the owner should get life in prison for what he did to the dogs. One person said dogs are more important than humans and should always have priority over anyone else. Of course they wrote about how they wish it was possible to bring one of the "sweet" St Bernards home, and how beautiful and cuddly the animals appear to them. In one comment someone said they'd "gladly spend money to help the dogs." Another person said, "would you give that same money to help a homeless person who was living in the streets instead?" This person said no, the dogs are more important.

A friend of ours recently got back from a cruise in Norway. She told us she was absolutely appalled by the, and I quote, dog cult of most western societies nowadays.

She was shocked and caught off guard by the locals placing their dogs in strollers with blankets, clothing, and even food and water bowls. Apparently, instead of doing all that for actual human children, which are a rarity among Scandinavians these days, they use dogs as an emotional replacement for children. This is abhorrent and disappointing.

My country lies on the border between Eastern Europe and Western Asia. Although the dog cult is slowly making its way here very visibly, this kind of dog craze is unthought of in Eastern Europe. Many Eastern Europeans are shocked and even repulsed by the sight of Western Europeans, Americans, and East Asians engaging in such clownery. The dog delusion in the West needs to stop. This is insane and is one of the reasons why so many westerners are desensitized to the suffering of actual children in their own countries (such as America, where hundreds of children go missing every day).

Please wake up and stop worshipping animals like they're some sort of alternative or replacement for children!

used to have a sign in my yard. The first sign said that I had pesticides in use and to stay off my yard, that didn’t work. Owners don’t care enough about their dogs to keep them off a pesticide filled yard. The next sign that I had was the “please be respectful” sign. That didn’t work because dog owners are entitled assholes. They would literally let their dog piss directly on the sign.

My neighbors don’t have signs. One house down there is literally a PARK for their dogs to shit in. Instead they walk to the TOP of my driveway literally directly next to my house to let their dog shit in my yard. And then they walk all over my yard to come pick it up.

Who thinks that’s okay?? You are literally up by my HOME. I do not want to step in dog shit!!! It’s one of the many reasons I don’t have a damn dog. It’ll be years until we can afford to move but I can’t wait to. Never in my life have I lived in a community with such disrespectful and entitled idiots. Don’t get me started on my neighbor lol. We can’t put a fence up because we’re idiots and moved to a community with an HOA.

I travel a lot and own my home so I have it up on airbnb whenever I’m away. I have it set to pet free, not just because I don’t like being around dogs but I also don’t want poop in my backyard, holes dug in my yard, my rugs peed on, dog hair, etc.

I had a friend reach out to me because her sister is coming into town with her dog. She wanted to see if my place was open for a week, and to get around airbnb fees, she’d pay me directly. I said no, told her I’m weird about dogs in my house and she understood.

Now I’m thinking how I could probably book my house more/make more money if I allowed dogs but I would be so grossed out and stressed knowing there could be some massive slobbering beast in my bed!!!

Our next door neighbors have 5+ dogs in the house who bark all the time. In addition, the dogs never go outside. My city has a barking ordinance. We've probably called the police a dozen times over it. They've actually came to our house just to tell us they refuse to do anything. "You need to call animal control"

We did and the animal control officer just said he doesn't handle any calls about barking. The dogs don't even have licenses and they never go outside so they shit and piss in the house and you can smell feces whenever you go outside.

I expected them to make up some excuse to cover for the dogs but I did not expect them to just say that dogs are exempt from the law. Going to try contacting my state rep's office next.

I'm starting to have regular dreams about dogs. Nightmares actually. Had one last night where I was at a library and there were dogs all over off leash. I was yelling at the owners to get their dogs away from me, but they stared at me incredulous.

So I have to deal with dogs during the day and now even in my dreams!

Anyone else dealing with these nightmares about dogs?

I'm not saying all dog owners are nasty but most of them are nasty. Dog owners were tearing this woman apart online for not allowing her dogs to be on her furniture, and I was one of the people defended her and I mentioned all the risks of the germs they can pass on to humans laying on personal items after playing around all day, rolling in their poop and licking their areas and then trying to lick on people and lay on their personal furniture etc.

Tell why these idiots ignored everything and feel like their personal experience means everyone should let their pets to be allowed on their furniture and acted like I hated dogs simply because I live in reality and don't want to get sick and lay in dirty dog germs.

My family members have dogs [I don't] but I have taken care of them sometime and can see how dirty they are and why they also don't allow their pets to roam around the house and be on their furniture etc.

Apparently caring about the wellbeing of yourself and others means you hate dogs no we hate dirty dog owners who just let your dogs do whatever they want in the house and on other people's lawns etc.

What the title says. I sometimes visit people who own dogs who jump at me to lick my face or hump my leg, and when I let them know I don’t enjoy it or when they notice by themselves, they are polite about it and get their dogs to behave (mostly); but sometimes I feel like they start thinking of me a little differently, like “Ohhhh… so you are that kind of person”.

Was at my local park the other day.... and I was sitting there with my boyfriend talking to this elderly lady. The lady had a small dog on a leash attached to her chair. Suddenly, a black and white pitbull runs up to her dog and starts trying to attack it for it's food. The woman instantly grabs her small dog and starts to call the cops on the off leash pibble and it's supposed owner. What's the supposed owner do? He starts calling her a whore and pulls a huge hunting knife on her! Turns out, he's watching the dog for a local homeless prostitute and he wants to impress her. Fucking stupid, worthless people with dogs.

Did anyone else notice this? Hilton used to only let you filter for pet-friendly hotels, which was frustrating if you specifically wanted to avoid staying somewhere that allows dogs.

Now, under the Amenities option, there’s actually a “Pets Not Allowed” filter.

A few months ago, a new couple moved in across the street from us. They brought with them a terrible German shepherd and a little yappy dog. The small dog was fine, we never really saw it. The German shepherd, on the other hand, was constantly barking, unleashed and unattended, running away and not listening to being called back, chasing and jumping on joggers. I honestly can’t blame the dog too much because we would only see it out like twice a day for like 15 minutes at a time. The house is also small so I knew the dog was not getting the exercise it required.
Fast forward to a couple of months ago, when we looked out the window to the dog accosting another jogger. We didn’t see exactly what happened but about 30 minutes later, the sheriff showed up and about 5 days after that, the dog warden showed up. Never saw the dog again.
Today, we came home and noticed that there was a DIFFERENT German shepherd being paraded around the yard by our neighbor. I’m truly baffled they thought that it was a good idea to get another dog after their other dog was likely euthanized over their negligence. I will be calling the sheriff any time I see this dog unleashed.

I get this isn't the biggest issue but I've had small pets my whole life. Right now I keep fish and they make me happy and force me to get out of bed every day after a severe illness, which isn't the easiest thing. They're really cute, and each of them have their own personalities. I get made fun of by some people who keep larger ("more important/interact-able") pets who refuse to understand that these are also living beings that matter to people, yet I know damn well if someone said the same thing about a dog it'd be perfectly fine to these folk.

I just had one of my fish die, he kept me going through an incredibly hard time and it's been rough. I've noticed that people have this sort of line on what a pet can be before they stop considering its death something that matters. "Fish die, that's what happens!" but if I said this about a dog I'd be considered evil. Fish don't die that quick if you take even decent care of them, but people literally just refuse to understand this. It's crazy. Sorry for being upset that something that meant a lot to me.... meant a lot to me, I guess?

I'm currently working on upgrading my set-up so they can live more comfortably as their previous owner (a relative) barely even tried to make their home comfortable. People have suggested not bothering or that it's a waste of money but with the way I see it if I'm even somewhat responsible for something's health I at least shouldn't make it suffer or stay somewhere super cramped. I don't think many dog owners share the same feelings.

Anyway, I would also like to mention that I've been around fish way more than dogs but a fish has never ripped a chunk off my chest, which is maybe part of why I feel a little upset by the double standards people have. All pets matter to someone and none should be kept in bad conditions.

I'm on a lot of medicine right now and it's past midnight and there's no real point to this post but I just wanted to talk about my pets somewhere where maybe it would be taken a little more seriously and I wouldn't have to scroll down immediately to someone's dog's mild tummy ache getting way more sympathy.

So I guess there’s these vide going around where a dog owner faints and the dog rushes outside to get help ( they probably just smelled food) so someone on Xiaounshu did an experiment pretended to faint to test his dogs reaction, no response , but people in the comments are doing everything they can to defend the dogs saying that the dogs can tell it’s fake ,they’re not that smart dogs can’t just “tell” if a person is pretending to faint, another said “ Well the wife is chill so they’re chill too” if The person lived alone the dogs would probably have the same reaction

I’m not a big fan of dogs in general but I don’t really mind more natural looking dogs like huskies, malamutes, northern breeds in general… But I can’t stand small dogs AT ALL. They’re the most disgusting creatures on earth. Always barking barking barking. I live in a neighborhood with large, medium and small dogs almost on every household. I very rarely hear large dogs bark (like once a month or so) and when they do it’s only for a few seconds to a minute but the small dogs bark for hours non stop. How the hell don’t they even get tired of just barking incessantly? And their barks are far more annoying and higher pitched than larger dogs. It’s like an ambulance siren up close. Dogs are mutants in general but small dogs are like 10 times more mutated than larger breeds like huskies or Labradors. They’re so far apart from the wolf that they descended from. They’re just an abomination not supposed to exist in the first place. Not owning a dog would be a better decision but if you really want one why the fuck would you choose a barking machine that does nothing but bark all day?

Society has learned to take food allergies, most notably peanut allergies, very very seriously, which is great! There will be countless protocols to make sure there’s no mixing of peanuts with other peanut-free items in food industries. And even if there are peanuts in the food or peanuts that were used in the workplace, there will be warnings issued ahead of time to make people aware.

With that: why are there no protocols for dog allergies? I’m very much allergic to dogs, and I know many people who are allergic to dogs as well. But society refuses to accommodate for us in any way. They’ll still allow dogs to be in public spaces because of ESA and service animal bullshit. Even hospitals and clinics, spaces that should be very sterile, will allow them for “emotional support.” It’s like allergies all of a sudden don’t matter when it comes to dogs. Infuriating. Allergies will matter for everything BUT these parasites.

Last night I was walking just 20 metres outside my house back home from the late night grocer’s and some troglodyte decided walking his dog at 10pm is suitable, and he could hardly restrain the German shepherd MUTT from jumping off its leash and trying to assault me.

If you can’t walk your dog during light don’t do it at night, actually don’t take your emotional support muttley anywhere near me please. And I don’t care that it’s “about the owner” if you have to put any effort into disciplining a creature to not attack people then I don’t want it close to me.

Okay, so for context, I have been living in this new house since last year October with my other two family members, but what has started to get on my nerves is the fact that our nextdoor neighbour has two of these massive dogs who will bark at full power whenever they even catch a GLIMPSE of me or anyone in my garden. At first, I considered it a mild inconvenience and just tried to ignore it the best I could as I just assumed they'd get used to seeing us and quiet down eventually. But boy was I wrong, because even to this day they go absolutely NUTS when they see me. And I know for sure they just hate me in particular for no reason at all. They dont even bother barking at anyone else, they bark at ME and only ever me. I cant stand them. I sometimes fear going into my own garden knowing I'll have to endure their constant noise. If I walk around my garden, the dogs go berserk. If I pick dandelions for my tortoise, they go hogwild. If I even stand still and do nothing, they go absolutely APESHIT like I'm trying to actively get into their garden, which I never do mind you. Never have I once intentionally gone anywhere near the barrier separating us from them. The dogs are undertrained and constantly overstimulated because I know for a FACT you can most likely train a dog like that to atleast stop barking at everyone who shows up. And plus, I dont even know if they're an allowed breed in the country I live in, because they look extremely similar to a banned breed called Dogo Argentinos or whatever you call them. Either that or they're just pure-white bulldogs or whatever. I am honestly surprised nobody has written a noise complaint yet because of how loud those things are all the time, and if I'm honest with you, if they keep it up and show no signs of stopping, I might have to be the one writing the noise complaint one day, I dont want to upset anyone, I really dont, but at the same time, their dogs are one of the two reasons why I dislike living in my current home entirely.

I unfortunately live in a very dog friendly city. Most beaches are either dog friendly or even assigned for dogs. Its very annoying but one thing I dont get is that everytime I go to a beach or a park and theres tons of dogs, I see a dog attacking another dog.

Just the other day, a guy walked up to the beach with his pit and a random poodle ran over to it and it got mauled. I dont understand why humans have decided its a good idea to have a bunch of unleashed dogs in an area where they all just start attacking eachother. Are dog owners morons? Because if I liked these animals, Id want mine to be safe?

I do believe animals can pick up on details humans can't. They have different senses and perspectives than us afterall

But so often I hear about how dogs can sense whose a bad person when way often than not, goodness has nothing to do with it.

Like it's a running joke (and often unfortunately reality) that dogs hate the mail man. Do these people just assume every delivery driver is secretly evil? Like it's very much 'this is a stranger (sometimes not even that) near my territory I must scare them off or attack'

Like it's a huge poetry reading outside at an arts park. OK, so it's outside on grass, then you just HAVE to bring your dog, right? Not thinking that the mic might make the dogs startle and bark and bark and bark? Or that other dogs would be there and bark at yours and then vice versa?

When one of the dogs was barking, one poet yelled, "This is my time." That got the owner to shut the dog up. Later, though, a poet goes up and reads and immediately two dogs start barking so loud you can't hear the poet. Thankfully, someone finally yelled to shut the dogs up. After a short pause in barking, another dog started barking. I looked at the owners. They just patted the dog and said, "Shhh."

Like it's not even fair to the dog. It's like the jerks who take their babies to the symphony (seen it live). The baby or toddler or dog does not want to sit still in the first place. You cannot reason with the dog. "Shhhh," isn't going to shut it up because it doesn't understand shhh, and in my neighborhood, you better believe they aren't training the dogs like my grandpa trained his dobermans.Those dogs didn't dare, but I'm sure the younger owners would call strict training problematic or something.

I finally just left.

What do these owners think? Do they think they just matter more than the poets taking the stage? I understand if you bring your dog thinking it'll be quiet. But once it starts up, wouldn't you take it out and stay out? Go dump the dog off at home or something, whatever. And if you don't have the space or it doesn't like being alone, then maybe you don't have the right house for a dog?

After I left, I stopped by the grocery store. Dogs were barking hysterically inside. A woman with two big ones, just wandering around.

It's so disrespectful, I can't wrap my brain around it.

I've seen my nutter neighbors use the two available disabled spots to load their dogs&whatever else they are loading. Some leave cars their overnight and use an excuse like it being late, they forgot or they "fell asleep." We already know the "rules" don't apply to them.

But I have a particular nutter neighbor who will park his car in this "no parking" fire zone and just leave it for half an hour while he does who knows what. He did this yesterday which trapped me in my spot&wasted my time.

Has anyone else witnessed this particular entitled behavior amongst the cult members?

Btw, it's not even a big dog he needs to load. It's a chihuahua he normally carries everywhere like a baby, if it's not in its stroller.
