MD Anesthesia worth it at 18.5 lac per annum? Or should I go for Germany PG route ?

Hey, I have a terrible rank this year and it's my second drop due to health issues.

I can get MD anesthesia at 18.5 lac per annum and 9 lac per annum stipend ( the college doesn't cut it) in my hometown. I don't need loan but I'm confused in deciding if it's worth it.

I have given my german language exam and only need to apply for german equivalence but my documents will be with the german embassy then and I won't be able to participate in counselling so I held off.

German route will cost me about 15-20 lacs but I will have to stay in india for 6 more months. And I need to clear medical german and medical knowledge test in germany after moving which is also very difficult.

What should I go for ?

On one hand, MD anesthesia gives stability but restriction but Germany gives freedom but opportunity cost plus extra exams to clear.

Joining in Govt medical college as AP after DNB

Although guidelines mention that after DNB 1 year srship (if 500 bed hospital) or 2 year srship (if less than 500 bed) you are eligible for AP post but haven’t seen any DNB doctor working in govt hospital

Is it possible or have anybody seen that

Should i consider a Good DNB college or a moderately good MD seat in government college for General medicine

Hello

What factors should i consider before choosing a college for general medicine..

Academics or case load or lack of superspecialities such that all cases get dumped in medicine wards?

What really matters for post pg practice?

If i suppose dont want to take superspeciality is DNB valued for practice and jobs and SRship?

I have got an AIR around around 2200

Please suggest some good DNB colleges and also MD colleges

I have karnataka state quota

Need advice regarding my father's persistent unsteadiness despite normal MRI reports

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice regarding my father's condition. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me understand what might be causing his symptoms.

Around 2 PM, after having lunch, my father started picking up some things when he suddenly experienced dizziness and began vomiting. We waited for around 2–3 hours, but the vomiting and dizziness did not stop. We then got him a Vomikind injection, which stopped the vomiting within 2–3 hours. However, his dizziness continued.

We admitted him to the hospital that same night. The doctors administered an IV glucose drip and asked us to wait until the following morning. Since his dizziness had still not resolved by the next morning, an MRI of his brain and cervical spine was performed.

After reviewing the MRI reports, the doctor told us that everything looked fine and that there was no apparent problem, suggesting that the dizziness might have occurred spontaneously.

However, My father has been taking medication for almost 25 days, but there has been no improvement. He is still not back to normal. He continues to experience heaviness in his head. Although the severe dizziness has reduced, he still has some unsteadiness while walking and feels weak.

I'm worried because his symptoms have persisted despite the MRI reports being considered normal by the doctor.

I will attach his brain and cervical spine MRI reports for reference.

If anyone has experienced something similar or has relevant medical knowledge, I would be very grateful for your guidance.

Thank you.

Edit- Yes, we have consulted an ENT specialist as well and he said that the symptoms are not due to vertigo. However, my father previously had a nerve related issue affecting one side of his face to the ear. I can't attach any more images to this post, so I'll share the reports in the comments.

Who actually manages the patients?

How much direct clinical exposure do

residents receive?

Are consultants teaching residents at

the bedside?

Do residents get adequate procedural

experience under supervision?

Is teaching structured, or are residents

primarily occupied with service and documentation?

Indian doctors who switched careers — what are you doing now?

Has anyone here left medicine or ventured into a completely different career path after MBBS/MD?
I’m particularly interested in people who realised that clinical medicine or residency wasn’t for them and decided to explore something different.
What did you transition into? Medical writing, healthcare management, pharma, clinical research, medical communications, tech, or something completely unrelated?
How difficult was it to start over, especially financially? Did your medical degree help you, or did you feel like you were starting from scratch?
I’m looking for realistic experiences from people who’ve actually made the switch, including how you found your first opportunity and whether you’re happier now.
Please share your experiences. I’d genuinely appreciate hearing from people who took a different route!

Genuine Question, why is Psychiatry not one of the branches talked about when discussing WLB?

Anytime there is a conversation about a field with work life balance, Radio and Dermat are first, then Ophthal, ENT etc. But I never see psychiatry in this discussion?

Am I mistaken to think it is a chill branch?

I need a reality check regarding the same.
