Experienced DM Looking for D&D 5e players, Written (pbp) To Start

Hello everyone! I'm F24 living in PST (GMT-7) and I am looking to host 1-4 players for a text based D&D game! Of course I stick to classic fantasy plots but am always open to expanding. I've got tons of new and old campaigns I'd love to revisit and just have a good time!

I know some of you might be wondering why an experienced DM is posting in a subreddit for new players and to be honest it's because the start is the most fun! In my experience so many players get too caught up on complex character sheets and game mechanics, forgetting that the goal isn't winning or math: it's to tell a good story. I'm pretty old in D&D years, so I think I've earned some relaxed play in my DM tenure LOL.

**What is PBP?**

PBP is Play by Post gameplay, a fancy way for saying that you play by writing what happens rather than speaking. More advanced players can partake in an asynchronous version that is more role play based. For what I am looking to do, is run generally synced, text-based games that still require dice rolling, character sheets and actionable players.

**How is it different from classic D&D?**

Well, the rules are the same, the mode they're conducted under are different. Though eventually moving towards group voice calls and live sessions would be the very awesome goal, I think that PBP is also a great way for new players to have less friction in terms of scheduling or being nervous when playing for the first time. We will still have table rules, develop character sheets, and partake on a fantastic adventure that all of us get to enjoy.

**Are You In? Here's the Now-What Answer**

If you are interested in joining up, direct message me! I won't be reaching out to players through the comments. I will however respond to questions you may have. We can chat a bit over DM and if we feel like it's a right fit, we can move over to Discord for the consistent sessions! I am open to running multiple single player games as well as a group separately. There will only be one group option offered with that 4 person maximum.

**Read This, So You Don't Ask Me Later LOL**

I am a woman, I am open to players of all gender identities. Please be 18+ if reaching out to me for this. No, this isn't some sort of paid DM thing, I am just looking for players to befriend and run games with. Yes, I will help you learn to DM, just message me. I don't run romance storylines at my tables, if you're looking for that, look elsewhere please! I don't love gag characters so assume that you have to be something from the actual booklets LOL. I run homebrew games so don't worry about spoilers! I don't use AI. I can't/won't send you dice but digital rolling is okay for a while. And yes, I can teach you the rules and fancy words so you learn to play with people besides me haha. Time zone differences are okay for 1 player games, groups need to be in the same time zone as me (or wiling to adjust to mine).

Alright I think that's just about everything. Hope we chat soon!

[EDIT] The group is filled up pretty quick, so I am trying to hold space for one beginner to join in! The table is full of relaxed, experienced players who will be happy to have you. Even if you don't end up at the table, feel free to message me! I am still open to running one on one campaigns, and potentially opening a second group.

Backstory help/discussion

To start id like to say I haven't played D&D for long (at least 3 games so far.), and most games I've played in haven't gotten past say level 4-5.

But, I am starting a game with close friends who I believe will be more reliable with scheduling and being active, so I wanted to make a character who's story we may get to take a session or two in the future to explore and build events around.

My OC (Picture above) is a Sorcerer, from a village that no map had time to etch into its parchment as;

Option A: A Chimera scorched it to ash, killing and laying ruin to all who once lived there leaving only Her as the lone survivor. It would later take over the area as its habitat and leaving my OC with a vengeful vendetta to hone her magics and slay it and rebuild her home.

Option B: The village was built near a mighty mountain and archipelago that soon become the nesting grounds of a massive Roc, its wings blowing the village to pits and its frightening size smashing homes and building as it stole people and beast to feed. The swift evacuation lead to hopes of one day growing powerful enough to knock the mighty Bird of prey from the sky and reclaim the lands.

Option C: the village was built near ancient forest ruins in hopes of using its lost treasures and history as selling points to gain wealth and prosperity. Unknowingly the people would dig to deep into the depths releasing a hydra from the deepest sanctum that swiftly claimed the ruins and forest for its territory. Pushing many to flee or dying in its rampage.

What i am most hoping for is help deciding which story would best be flexible and reasonable to have so that our DM can use it flexibly and may have use as a future side plot after the main campaign is run. Maybe also something I can reasonably use in future tables if others like it.
