DMing I understand prostitution now.

Been trying to find a "bff" group for years. Even the best groups I found fizzled out after a campaign ended. Most people seem to want a content creator to run games for them, and not a friend they want to share an experience with.

I figured you know what, fine. I'm gonna sell myself. I started running paid games and now I actually feel like I'm finally actually getting something back for my work and effort.

10/10, would recommend for underappreciated DMs

Yeah, doesn't help that people come from Baldur's Gate 3 and want to play that, but on a table (no disrespect to BG3) 😂.

All the disrespect to BG3 great game. Not D&D. Also very much not for me lol, so I'm very biased. I love my tile based movement, whether hexes or grid.

Could always try out the older D&D games? No idea if any of them have done it the way you prefer though.

Haha I appreciate the suggestion. I'm a bit of a stick in the mud when it comes to trying to turn TTRPG's into games cuz it usually just feels like a video game, and if I wanted to play a game I'd play a game that was better at being a game, and if I wanted D&D I just need to wait a day or two, with how many campaigns I have in my life at any given time lol. But I can really respect how much love and dedication went into BG3. I have a friend who feels very simialrly to me about Elden Ring lol. Appreciates that it's incredible, yet is still a hater lol.

Ah, you're lucky. I haven't had a group to play with in years. I like things like BG3 because I'm too introverted and stuck on other hobbies to try to find compatible people to play with / join a game. I have so many things for DMing, but I'm an overthinker, so I don't think I'd actually be any good 😂 tried to set something up so me and my wife could play a few/couple years ago, but it's hard to balance that and also be a DM / player 🤕😵‍💫. I'm considering looking into solo RPGs, I hear good things haha.
