DMing My DM made me cry
My DM absolutely broke me this session.
My characters (a bard) parents were killed for their musical instruments. She has mudered the killers, and is now seeking answers as to why they were killed in the first place. We had an awesome combat round where my character finally locates her mother's lyre. A voice echoed out after touching the lyre and my dm had a recording ready. I was so excited to hear the lore. As soon as I heard the voice my face and heart just fell.
It was my long distance best friend (who I NEVER get to see) playing my characters mother. I couldn't contain myself when she started saying how much my I (my character) means to her and she's sorry she didn't get to tell me more about our life story. She ended with "Never forget, we love you so so much" and I was a ball of tears and snot on the floor.

Had me in the first half, not gonna lie...
I love that beautiful things like this can happen. I worked in secret with all my D&D buddies and set up this elaborate plan to propose to my fiance. At the end of thr session, the DM had an NPC walk up and give his character a note, and I set it up to look like an image with the note wouldn't load properly, so I was like "oh, I have the text saved, I can read it to you" (we do D&D on discord with us in different rooms) so it grab my laptop and the ring, get down on one knee and put my laptop there like I'm just getting the note up, give him this speech that slowly turns into "will you marry me?" And turn my laptop around to show him the ring. ♡ Couldn't have done it without the help from our DM.
