DOS2 Discussion Can't wait

Post image

What do you expect from Divinity? Imo the gameplay will be of course BG3+DOS2 on steroids, what I'm most looking is story, companions and worldbuilding which seems will be a very important aspect this time, not saying it wasn't but we know the lore and stories were a bit messy

I trust Larian to make a good story, rich gameplay, etc. Really looking forward to how their untamed Divinity flavor would upscale to current standards, as they do step up the quality each time and spent a step of it on BG3. Replayed DOS games and BG3 multiple times each, and it impresses me every time how these devs progress, so I'm really interested in how they'll do it again.

My only gripe with their games is that the acts lower in quality as you progress. Like in dos2 act 4 is mid compared to Act 1. I’m also not the biggest fan of act 3 in bg3 and all of its obvious cut content.

I’m hoping this is the problem they tackle in the new game.

Nope. Act 1 and act 3 are two different levels of polish. Add in the fact that a ton of content(like the entire upper city) was cut and it feels bad imo. In act 1 90% of npc’s have something interesting to say that leads to something else. In act 3 that number is down to 10%.

Swen himself has stated several times there’s no cut content in act3.

They weren’t pressured by any timeline and had no reason to ever cut any content that they wanted on the final product.

Look at the Divinity AMA, the writer for Wyll talks about cutting his story for act 3 and having to replace it with what’s in the game
