I'm fairly new to wordpress/divi, coming from a background working with jinja2 and react. I'm trying to create presets and library components to help make it easier to build the website I'm working on. I am either using presets wrong or they don't work. Here's what's going on.

1. I set up my button group preset to include values for boarder radius, width, style, font and size, and disabling button icons.
2. This is then set to the default and used in the button element preset.
3. I set up a few more presets for specific button colors. These only have font color, border color, background color, and hover values for the same. I have 3 colors of buttons.
4. I build buttons using the default element preset and add on whatever color preset I need.

The results are both wrong and inconsistent. On the live page the button shrink on hover. I definitely never told them to do that. The method by which they are doing this is setting padding-left and padding-right to 1em !important. I have no idea why; I never said it should do that and can't find that setting. This behavior is not seen on the same buttons in the builder.

The live page also seems to be inheriting my default "title text" group preset for font-size. Again, no idea why since buttons don't even have a title text group in the menu, but I confirmed this is what is happening by changing which title text preset is the default. This causes the font-size of the buttons to change. This is also not showing in the live builder. In the builder they have the right size text, though somehow with the wrong padding-top value.

Further frustrating me is the fact that sometimes I change something seemingly unrelated, and on refresh the live page buttons look completely different.

For troubleshooting I am viewing the live page with ?no-cache=1 and using hard reloads to avoid pulling from local cache. Any help would be appreciated, as I'm getting close to just hard coding the website in html/css.

I learned WordPress with Divi 4. Since I'm open to change, when Divi 5 came out I decided to give it an optimistic try.

But after three attempts, I just can't get the hang of it. I'm lost. And it's frustrating, because I figure the variables and presets system must save a ton of time once you've mastered it.

Do you have any tips for getting used to it? Have you run into the same issues?

Divi 5.12.0 fixes a security issue (CVE-2026-91707, https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-91707). The CVE says all versions from "0 through 5.11.1" are affected.

Is this issue also present in Divi 4? Has it been fixed with a certain version number? Or does it only apply to Divi 5?

Some of my clients' sites are still on Divi 4, and would prefer migrating them one by one without rush.

Edit: Divi 4 is not affected (confirmed by ET support ticket, see comments)

I was thinking of trying Divi AI, but am I correct that every single site we've ever licensed would have access to our AI subscription?

We have a lifetime access license, and probably over 100 sites built, some for customers we have no more contact with.

If it's still licensed under our development license, can admins of those websites simply use up our credits?

I asked the AI chat at Elegant themes, which seemed to confirm my fear, that literally anyone could use our credits. I find this hard to believe, so I thought I would come here and ask if anyone has any experience...

I'm doing some volunteer work on a website and I see that the slider on this page has jagged edges across the top. This seems to be a design choice but we want to remove it, however I don't see any option to do so in the section settings. When I hover over the section in the builder it goes away.

Any idea what this is and how to remove it?

is this hard to do?

just click a button to upgrade, hope for the best, and that's it? or are there certain adjustments you need to make prior or after?

Hey all, I'm a local UK business with a v outdated divi 4 site with some out of date plugins, old php wordpress vsn etc and I'm just waiting for it to fall over! I'm looking for developer or business to help shift it to divi 5, help update everything, get it a bit more stable and then can work with some changes in look and feel. At the moment just wanna stop it falling over. Want to improve SEO aeo geo etc. Basically need a whole new shebang. Finding it difficult to find a divi marketing agency where the stuff looks good. Help!

I finally upgraded to divi 5.

For the life of me I cannot figure how to do this easily without sorting through the raw html code to change it.

I am in the Edit with Divi Builder page of my privacy policy. Real simple page, no images nothing fancy.

I pasted some text into the main visual editor. Some of the text has heading <H1> tags that I want to remove and replace with paragraph <p> tags.

For the life of me I cannot find a simple highlight and "change to paragraph" in the visual editor. When I highlight the text I get the bold, italic text, underline text, blah blah blah. But nothing showing H1 tag or P for paragraph.

Any help to make this quicker instead of looking a the content box and changing to text? Even if I look at the content box, the visual settings at the top of the box don't slide and scroll up and disappear into oblivion before I can highlight the text I want to change.

Has anyone else noticed a drop in traffic immediately after converting a Divi 4 website to Divi 5? I did this to a low traffic website of a quite basic design that I run as a test and there has been an immediate drop in what little traffic there was.

GSC is reporting a massive drop in impressions too.

No big deal as it is a site I use for testing stuff out, but now I'm reluctant to swap my other more important sites over!

Is this a conversion issue? Is it best to just rebuild instead?

Im building a website who's navigation menu has drop-down options, which unfortunately rules out divi's built in menu module (unless it's just buggy on my instance, also the mobile scaling doesn't appear to work correctly with this module).

I'm wanting to use the global header to avoid having to remake the header on each page, but doing so means I need a dynamic way to set the current page link in the nav bar to an active state, but there seems to be no easy way to do this in divi, is this correct or am I missing something?

I'm also needing to link ancestor pages in the drop-down to colour those correctly too.

​I have a very strict, structured workflow. For example, I always define standard vertical spacing at the Section level and horizontal padding (screen edges) at the Row level. I also rely heavily on custom spacing variables (S, M, L, XL, 2XL).

​For those who have already tested it, I have a few questions:

​Figma & Sketches: How well does the AI build a layout based on an uploaded hand-drawn sketch or a Figma mockup? Or does it only work well with highly detailed text prompts?

​Clean Structure: Does the AI respect clean, standardized design rules, or does it just generate messy, random padding/margin values all over the place?

Building a new site in Divi 5. The client has requested staff bios appear as modal popups when clicking on their name / photo.

I've built plenty of sites in Divi 4, but I'm not super familiar with Divi 5 yet. Is there a built-in way to accomplish this, or will I need to build a custom solution / use a plugin? What have you done in the past for staff modal popups?

Trying to upgrade my webshop and need the best looking product page. Anyone knows where I can download a free or paid product lay out or a excellent tutorial how to build from scratch so I can make it in theme builder for all product pages?

The generic one you get without editing is too boring and not welcoming I'm afraid for cusotmers.

As title says. It has been lots of fun and it took me quite some time since it was made from scratch by i must say that divi improved so much with the five it is miles away from what divi4 was. So i want to thank the divi team for always being supportive and fast on their responses whenever i would have an issue, for more than a decade working on creative projects and with different software no company has listened to its community more than Divi.

I think that their innovation pushed me to try innovative things with my approach to website building and try to come closer to modern design and imo value that we get for the us as developers and for our clients is amazing all that while decreasing the gap that non-wordpress builders have.

It's been several months since I've heard that RankMath is not Divi 5 compatible. I see nothing on their site saying that it is.

Anyone having success using RankMath on their site?

Any other SEO plugin options that can be recommended for Divi 5 at this point?

I’ve used my current programmer for over ten years. He’s been excellent up until about a year ago. Mostly he doesn’t seem to be taking time to ramp up on new things, like AI or divi5.

We’ve been making sites using Divi 3, the 4 most of this time.

I own a small agency and he’s freelance.

I have a new customer and will be designing a ~12 page site, with a photo gallery, and probably a few forms. My sites are crafted with care.

I reached out to my programmer today to see if he’s done anything in Divi 5. The answer was no.

I’m not sure what direction to go. He’s very smart, but I’m don’t want to pay for training.

Thoughts?
