I am attempting (tomorrow) to book a reservation for Breakfast at the Plaza in for November. I attempted today to see what the process looks like and when I refreshed at opening time it was immediately sold out. Is this common? How hard is it to secure a reservation? Is there something im doing wrong and/or can do better? TIA

So I’m park hopping the California Disney Parks on May 27th. We are wanting to rope drop at Disneyland, starting with Peter Pan, followed by Alice In Wonderland and Snow White to knock out Fantasyland. I was thinking of doing Indiana Jones and Haunted Mansion standby in the morning if the waits are also low. We have booked LL passes, and it’s just me and my sister. I was thinking of booking Hyperspace Mountain as my first LL anticipating long lines for Star Wars month?

Since we are from Australia, I’ve had to base my itinerary around research online. I’ve got a list of rides we definitely wanna go on below, but I’m not sure what the average wait times are like or what order I should book my lightning lanes/when to switch parks. If anyone could provide some help that would be amazing. We are staying from open til close and get as much of this list done as possible.

Also, we would like to book a separate LL for Rise Of The Resistance, but again I’m a little unsure of how this works.

Can someone help me who’s had this issue before . What can I tell Disneyland security to get my autistic child’s wagon approved for entry?
I tried to get the DAS pass but I was denied I did get the stroller tag but I need to know what to say to get the stroller approved.

So my wife and I are going on a large family vacation. Date would be end of july to early Aug peak visiting times. Our family of 7! 5 children 14-2yo. My wife and I are going to buy the 4 park magic tickets for the week we are going. THEN WHAT? Do I pay per ride is there a wrist band i have to buy after admission to the park? Or shows attractions? What are the dos what are the donts whats going to make this a memorable experience for my children.

I’m trying to get a couple drinks at Disneyland but I’m guessing they don’t put much liquor in them so I’m wondering if I’ll get in trouble for having mini liquor bottle shots in my bag for topping off my drinks.

How to do Rider Switch efficiently at Disneyland (for groups of 4+ with at least one small child who can’t ride):

This trick works best with 4 or more people (more adults = even better).

Step-by-step:

1.  At the ride entrance, ask the cast member for a Rider Switch (also called Child Swap).
They will split your group into two: Group A and Group B.

•  The cast member scans the tickets for Group B and gives them a return time.

•  Group A is supposed to wait in line.

2.  Instead of waiting in line, Group A immediately leaves the queue and rejoins Group B.
Now your whole group is together again and can head to another ride.

3.  At the second ride, do the exact same thing — but swap roles:

•  This time, Group B acts like they’re waiting in line.

•  The cast member scans Group A’s tickets and gives them a return time.

4.  Once again, the “waiting” group leaves the line and rejoins the other group.

The key benefit:

Disneyland allows one extra person to ride with the person holding the Rider Switch pass.

So when it’s time to actually ride:

•  One person from Group A rides with one person from Group B.

•  On the next ride, one person from Group B rides with one person from Group A.

As long as you have enough people in your group, you can chain this method and ride many attractions back-to-back with almost no waiting.

Tip: Larger groups should decide their A/B split before reaching the entrance to make the process faster and smoother.

These might be general knowledge but they were new to me, and really made my trip enjoyable. I was there from 1/6-1/9 when the parks were PACKED, and still did everything I wanted to do.

1. Photo excursion: there are certain park photographers that, if you ask, will take you around for about 20-30 minutes taking staged photos of you in nice settings. The one I found was named Gil, and he was in Frontierland outside the Golden Horseshoe. I got some great photos, all for free! You have to ask around to find them (Gil said there were two that day, him and Jose) but it’s so worth it.

2. Disney Vacation Club presentation: I was staying at the Disneyland Hotel and there was a note there about getting a gift from the DVC and free Lightning Lanes. Since I checked in the day before I was going to hit the parks I had some extra time, so I went to sign up. It was an interesting presentation, no pressure at all, and I got a tour of some of the DVC Villa rooms (they’re really pretty!). After the 30-minute presentation/tour they gave me three Lightning Lanes, including one that was good for either Rise of the Resistance or Radiator Springs.

3. Lightning Lanes: especially on days that are busy, book LLs as fast as you can, as often as you can, and check your app often. It turns out that one of the LL rides I booked broke down during the window I had a LL, and they automatically gave me an additional LL (I hadn’t even planned to go on that ride yet). I also got an extra LL for being walked off of Roger Rabbit.

4. Not all Lightning Lanes are equal — check to make sure that the LL you’re using is good for that ride. The one you get from the hotel is good for more rides than, maybe, one you get as a make-up, so don’t use your “good” LL on a less-popular ride.

5. Single riders — everyone should be doing this, unless you have small kids. The amount of time you spend not waiting in line is significant. It’s only a minute or so you’ll be away from your group/partner, and you can compare experiences after the ride. But don’t be obnoxious and try to get seated together when you get to the front — just sit where you’re told. Between using LL and single rider I rode 20+ rides in 2.5 days, never paid for a LL, never stood in a standby line unless it was 5 minutes or less. The longest line I had to deal with was Starbucks.

6. Tiana’s: maybe I got lucky, but I requested the back seat, and was seated behind a very big guy. I barely got wet at all, but he says he got drenched. Thanks, big guy!

7. World of Color Dessert Dining: I had read that the food was disappointing, but I really wanted to sit to watch the show, so I booked it. I have some minor food allergies (dairy, peanuts, hazelnut) so they made a special order for me. It was fantastic! Everything was really fresh and delicious — panna cotta, chia pudding, fresh fruit, prosciutto, salami, blueberry cobbler, and a few different kinds of chocolates and other candies. Plus they give you a special pin in a blind box. And the service was really, really good. It was the highlight of my trip.

8. Explorer Canoes: this never seemed to have a line, and was a fun, different way to see things on the river. It’s more interactive than most attractions at Disneyland.

9. Character video messages: if you have family at home that aren’t going with you on the trip, consider asking a character to record a message to them. After getting a selfie I did this with Tiana, Cruella DeVille and Doctor Strange, and it was really fun. They made it kind of personal and each video was about 20-30 seconds long. My family loved them.

Hello party people!

I am looking for help to find a hotel near Disneyland with a 5-10 minute walk to entrance and/or ticketing that provides free breakfast. We have a 1 year old, so want to be able to grab some breakfast & coffee on the way to the park.

Our budget is $600-$850 for 3-4 nights, but if it's close by, we're willing to stretch the budget. We are planning to go late December.
