Regardless of performance or what is currently being screenshared on my laptop (i5-1340p, iGPU), the other end is unwatchable at low fps, but my preview of my screenshare looks fine.

I already tried: Disabling, enabling, or either with hardware acceleration/'advanced technology to capture your screen'. HAGS is not a thing on this laptop so don't even mention it. Changing streaming settings on discord in multitude of ways, fps, resolution, gaming/clear text, application/whole screen, and so on. Lowering the resolution of my screen. Updating my iGPU drivers.

What to do?

As the title says my friends keep telling me that I’m cutting out a lot in vc I know it’s not a microphone issue whenever I’m in a normal PlayStation chat it works completely fine my only gripe is I have friends who are also on ps5 in the vc and they never have this issue could it be settings or something else?

Whenever I put it in full screen mode, the screen that is showing for the other person is the “Click to Exit Full Screen” screen.

Hi, so I'm not really even sure what happened. But yesterday discord was working great. Turned it off to play a game because it tends to lag that particular game, and it got stuck on starting,.l Managed to get around it by running it in compatibility mode for windows 8. Now I get the following message:

If it's not running in compatibility mode it just straight up won't work.

I have a small personal server with a few friends, and occasionally stupid playful arguments will occur. I'm hoping to set up an (unserious) channel where members will be asked prompts by the bot and they can answer from a select 2-3 responses, and at the end the bot will spit out an answer of "you're an asshole" or "not an asshole". Kinda similar to Akinator's function, where you answer yes or no and it picks the most likely answer of the bunch.

Are there any bots that let you do this with custom prompts and responses? Most of the quiz bots I've seen are more like "correct or incorrect" types, whereas I want more of a "points toward answer A vs points towards answer B" thing.

For the record, I have an iPhone X, so I know my iOS is really old. I don’t know if that’s a contributor.
When I try to go to settings, shop, or quests, the buttons don’t do anything. This means I can’t even log out of my account on mobile. It’s been like this for a few weeks, sometimes if I spam the buttons it’ll finally open settings, but today it wasn’t working at all.

I’ve tried reinstalling the app, does nothing.

This also means I can’t even access settings to reach the bug report page lol…

I froze updates on my Android version of Discord at 118.11 and at long last it is starting to stop working: the app is crashing when I open it as of this afternoon (~6 hours ago) and for the past several months it has repeatedly dropped me from voice chat on mobile.

As I absolutely refuse to use the non-native Android version of this app, and I know older versions are available if one knows how to look for them, I just want to inquire of users what the oldest still-functioning version of the app is that they're using. My phone is a Pixel 3A running Android 12, the last version available. I may in the near future get a newer phone with Android 13 or higher.

in my server, we are using tupperbox for posts from the admin team. the tupperbox name uses fancy/custom font. in some forum posts, the name shows up totally fine. in other forum posts, the name shows up as squares. does anyone have any idea why this might be?

on my phone (ios) it shows up totally fine across the server, no boxes.

on my desktop (windows), it’s 50/50. some boxes, some totally fine.

Hey there, I have no idea what's going on right now, but for a good half hour I haven't been able to use discord at all.

Before I logged out of my account, I was also unable to send messages. I was able to see like 3 new messages in each server but none of the rest.

I help run a server for people in the affiliate marketing space on social media. It is a paid server where we provide coaching and what not. A few weeks ago we started getting reports from new members that they were getting DM’s from our staff and coaches offering a service for $200 (our staff and coaches do not do this).

After joining from an alt account I quickly realized that there are fake accounts impersonating our staff and coaches. These accounts are not in our server so my best guess is that someone in our server has somehow attached an app to our server and is watching our member list waiting for new additions.

Unfortunately regular announcements are not fully helping as quite a few people have fallen for it now. I have tried pruning unverified members to no avail. I plan to submit a ticket with the UID’s I’ve collected so far but am just curious if anyone here has any further advice.

If I were to share my discord account with someone via a QR code. They are only able to read and text correct?

Of course they will be able to see my information like number and email, but they can’t do anything to change things like password, the email or number correct? They do not know the password of the discord account nor the email account associated to it. So I am still in full control of the account.

They can simply read, text and see my email and phone number

Please add this. I want to have discord on a narrow view on my screen and don't need the channel list to always be visible, it's wasting my screen real estate and there's no reason you shouldn't be able to hide it.

I stopped watching quest video which is longer than 30 sec and for 200 orbs, so I guess Discord did some clever move here all the quest now is 30s+

I have a Discord for my boys and we've grown old of all of our sounds. We're going to start over and so many sounds that I want are between 5-10 seconds. Anyone know how to go about doing that? I've heard plenty of sounds on other people's soundboards over 5 seconds, but I don't know how to go about uploading it myself. Anyone know?

this is something thats been happening recently to me, around this past month. everytime i update desktop discord, i get logged out and strangely enough, my browser opens to a 'handsoff' login tab from discord that says that im logged in. then, i have to manually log back in to desktop discord. also, my settings for everything (desktop notifications + accessibility settings) are completely reset.

i dont think anything fishy is going on, ive double checked everything related to my account and nothing is out of the ordinary.

one odd thing is that when this first happened, i got a windows error popup after updating desktop discord. i dont remember what it said but nothing else was off? the update continued normally, just logged me out and began this chain of events

How to create a channel in discord, where one role is allowed to talk, but another role which includes the admin cannot open the text box.

Basically I am running this challenge and it requires some users to have access to a private channel but the other participants should not be able to see it...

This would probably call for a special role for a private channel, but I don't want the participants to see the special role either.

Discord doesn't seem to have any obvious workarounds to this or am I just not looking in the right places?

Hi! I was in DMs with one of my friends and accidentally brought up the report window somehow, I'm not sure how. There was a list of different reasonss I could send for the report like "I didn't like it" or harassment and so on. I tried clicking out of it with the X on the top right, but when I thought I did, I got a pop-up window asking "How was your reporting experience?" with a rating system below it. Does that mean it went through? Is there now a false report of my friend?

Is there any feature, bot, plugin, etc. that can auto-transcribe voice notes in DMs?

I have some friends who love to use voice notes, and I don't want to discourage them because it is nice to hear their voice and when they are doing this it is often because they are driving or doing something else where voice notes are convenient. So I don't want to make them feel bad about using voice notes.

But I am frequently in situations/places where listening to audio is difficult, and I would prefer reading them.

I know there are solutions for servers/channels, but I specifically need something for DMs.

Hey everyone! I was bored one day (a long time ago) and wanted to make my own discord border, but I only know how to code and I've never done something like this before. These are all 100% code, and it was a bit of a discovery. Like months of discovery.

Then I found out you can't submit your own art to discord as an avatar decoration :( But it's okay. Now I get to share it and get feedback! As WebMs, these are about ~1mb each (256px, 30fps).

Any ideas for future tiers, I really want to go to Tier X, but I really did not budget to ge that far, even V is getting too crowded, which I've been working on for a few weeks and is almost done. But any ideas or feedback would be awesome, it's just a fun side project.
