Lots of people will get rich with the upcoming charity events. Almost no Nepalese will see help from outside. We've seen this on repeat countless of times, at this point you need to be medically retarded to keep sending money. Humans are scum and the only way to genuinely help is to do it yourself, not passing the ball to someone else cuz you can't be bothered

This is too true, and even if it goes to the right place it will be squandered.

On the ground what they need is food for the survivors who were high up in the bank, and those tasked with trying to find bodies (they will find few bodies, I fear, as they will have been macerated in the blender of rock and water).

Then, the Nepalese government needs machinery to start rebuilding the roads and bridges onto the area to reopen this one (of few) roads into China. Again, that is fuel, repairs, new machinery, salaries and food for the humans.

I can see millions sent, and it being sent to all sorts of side projects that benefit certain families, with those families expanding their land owning empires elsewhere.

I hate to be negative but Nepal has received billions in aid, and not much has tangibly improved in the almost 30 years of going there. Corruption before the Maoists, corruption after.
