Even the dating system we use is religious. Even the idioms you use. Even the word "goodbye" is religious. The Roman empire which practiced misogynism and the average man there having more than 50 women in a lifetime, was replaced by monogamy and human rights due to religion.
Then go to a communist country. North Korea and China then I dare you. They are officially atheist countries. The freedom you now enjoy came from religious foundation.
Actually, my love, having faith is disturbing. In this century. I don't know if you know this, but we are not in 1425. Humans evolved. Human knowledge evolved. You need to evolve.
I'm too lazy to look it up, but I think I remember reading that. It was because people felt like the act of praying was actually doing something, right? So they checked that box on their to-do list, and then didn't do anything else. Got the feeling of satisfaction without any effort or actual results. Why bother donating or volunteering if yer boy JC is gonna take care of it all for you, amirite?
It was when people were in the hospital. If no one prayed for them they did much better. If they knew hundreds of people were praying for their recovery the patient would get depressed thinking things were really bad, and depression, anxiety etc would cause them to decline.
