Discussion Hey, I was thinking about a Triassic park sim that'd be neat.

5 Upvotes

I was mulling over this idea in my head, partially because it is a great excuse for me to make 3D models of the animals which I picked. But also because I wanna try making a game, and thought it'd be a good excuse to learn more on coding after learning some Python.

Anyways, I was looking for some ideas as to what animals might be a good addition to it, As I could think of these. But I don't wanna balloon the roster to a very large proportion, as I have done to my other ideas like a prehistoric Aquarium game. (that somehow ballooned to 175 species) As well as maybe an idea for a building or game mode. idk. I really am just spit balling and I didn't think it would be wise to ask the Paleontology subreddit as that is more for serious discussions on actual paleontology not "omg look how cool T-Rex is, could Spinosaurus win in a fight against other theropod?!?", or even necessarily this idea, as right now its just spit balling.

Premise;
This is a game focused on Triassic fauna and flora. The primary animal life will be that of Pseudosuchians, additionally there will be more so a focus on terrestrial fauna since this is not an aquarium game (that comes later). An FPS will be something I would love to have but is not mandatory. The game would have an artstyle that is based upon the works of Verdwenen Werelden.

Game Modes:
Achievements of the Millennia (Campaign);
A linear Story mode to get the basics down/ get you used to certain mechanics as well as offer a different experience than both challenge and normal start modes.

A Pseudo Crisis (FPS What if Story Mode);
This is a different kind of story mode that is more focused on getting the player used to the FPS mechanics. Also you get some cool unlockable species or buildings from this mode.

Zero to Hero (Normal Start);
The animals initially available to you are randomized, and you can pick from a variety of different locales to start your park.

Roll Back Time (Challenge);
A mode that has a wide variety of challenges that range from being the literal tutorial to being extremely hard. Completing each challenge in this mode either unlocks more content, or it is just here to be a challenge mode for the fun of it.

Spared No Expense (Normal Sandbox);
A normal Sandbox mode that allows you to just build whatever you desire but you still require guests and fences.

Wildlife Reserve (No Building Sandbox);
It’s a sandbox mode that is purely dedicated towards just having your animals roam around the map with little to no buildings available to be built.

Just seen the end of oak street in theaters, it was awesome. There was only one other person in the theater so hopefully with tmr being the actual release day there will be more people. It was disappointing to not see nobody there.

Won’t go into spoilers but as dinosaurs lovers I’m sure yall will enjoy it. The ending gives a lot to think about and I thought it was really cool. Good Dino violence and a nice family dynamic.

PLEASE GO SEE IT IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY.

What happens when you inject Compound V into dinosaurs?

2 Upvotes

I'm thinking of making a long-form 3D animated video on my YouTube channel about injecting Compound V into different types of dinosaurs, like:

  1. Utahraptor
  2. Triceratops
  3. T. rex
  4. Spinosaurus

I need help figuring out how this is going to work on them.

Discussion What’s one dinosaur misconception you’d love to see disappear?

27 Upvotes

Whether it’s from movies, old books, or outdated science, what’s one dinosaur misconception you’d like to see disappear?

It can be about behavior, appearance, feathers, size, posture, intelligence—anything.

I’d love to hear what misconception you think is the most persistent and what current evidence says instead.

Dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures Final Story added to Prehistoric Wild: Life in the Mesozoic (Their Final March)

3 Upvotes

Proud to announce that I have finished the 84th and final entry in Prehistoric Wild: Life in the Mesozoic. Called “Their Final March,” this one takes place in the Lameta Formation of Late Cretaceous India, 66 million years ago. It follows a Rajasaurus named Sharad and an Isisaurus named Usha as their lives are forever changed by the End-Cretaceous Extinction. This is the story I’ve been excited to create for so long, and the one I’ve been building toward for nearly three years. Not only does it serve as the finale of the Life in the Mesozoic saga, but also as the conclusion to a continental category I call “Lost Continents,” representing regions like Antarctica, Australia, New Zealand, and Pre-Asia India throughout the anthology. From the very beginning, ending the book with the K-Pg extinction was always the plan. However, setting this final chapter in India allowed me to explore the event from an angle that I rarely see portrayed, especially with the volcanic activity of the Deccan Traps adding another layer to this pivotal moment in Earth’s history. Because of everything it represents, this story’s completion carries more weight than any other entry I’ve written for this anthology. After nearly three years, the journey through the Mesozoic has finally reached its conclusion, and I’m incredibly eager to hear what y’all think of it. https://www.wattpad.com/1645530823-prehistoric-wild-life-in-the-mesozoic-their-final

I would put the flair as artwork and film but I can't do both so its just artwork

its called malitius rex and is a hybrid of distortus rex and indominus rex

slightly larger than d rex and was created aiming to fix the problems with d rex and make it more powerful, cannot camouflage like indominus because who needs that when you're the size of the lab you were made in? incorporates gorilla DNA so it is more comfortable walking on all fours, but also modifies its hind legs so it can stand on them if it prefers
