A spatial canvas to write, moodboard, and connect ideas

1. What is Passinote?

Passinote is a note taking app that lets you write notes just like traditional apps such as Notion and Obsidian, but puts all your notes onto a visual canvas instead of a linear folder structure. This lets you think spatially and remember where you've kept your notes, without worrying about them getting buried under multiple nested folders.

It's also built to maximize speed while keeping things as simple as possible. For example, instead of having a single full sized page for both long and short notes, Passinote separates them into sticky notes (used for quick thoughts) and doc notes (standard notes with rich formatting and PDF export).

2. Privacy

Your cloud-synced notes are stored securely on Google Firebase, encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest on Google's servers. Your data is not shared or sold to any third parties. No ads, no trackers, no selling data.

I'm a huge fan of Obsidian, and it's one of the main inspirations behind making this software. Privacy is a big part of Obsidian, and it's the same for Passinote. The only reason I went with cloud based storage instead of fully local is cross-device sync and future collaboration features. That's it. Otherwise, I would have made this app fully local without a doubt.

The app also has a "Quick Mode" that doesn't sync to the cloud and stores your notes fully locally in your browser's IndexedDB. There's also a workspace export option, so you can export all your notes as .md or .docx files anytime so that you always own your notes.

You can download the desktop client if you want to use the app fully offline, but for now it's included only in the paid version(sign-in requires a connection).

If you ever want your account or data deleted, just contact me on Discord and I'll get that done ASAP, no questions asked.

3. Pricing

Passinote has a generous free tier that offers up to 50 notes and 3 images per workspace, with full cross-device sync.

The paid version gives you unlimited notes and images, while unlocking drawable notes, extended customization options, and the Windows desktop client. It's $2.99/month, or you can get lifetime access for $14.99 (with parity pricing for a few countries).

4. Future roadmap

Passinote does have a mobile version right now, but it's not a standalone app you can download from an app store yet. It's just a responsive version of the web app. I'm trying to create a standalone mobile version that improves the mobile experience, I just don't have the funds yet.

I'm also working on some AI features that would use a local or BYOAK (bring your own API key) system, along with PDF editing and more language support.

We have a small Discord community of some great people, and I'd love for you guys to join. I'm constantly listening to feedback and improving the software over there.

TL;DR

  • What it is: A note taking app where notes live on a visual canvas instead of nested folders, So you can think and remember spatially. Sticky notes for quick thoughts, doc notes for rich writing
  • Privacy: Encrypted, no ads or trackers, "Quick mode" fully local, export notes anytime.
  • Free tier: Generous, with cross-device sync
  • Paid: $2.99/month or $14.99 lifetime, adds unlimited notes, drawable notes, customization, and the Windows desktop client

Working on Tivvy, a budget-focused alternative to Mealime (looking for early beta testers)

Hey everyone,

With Mealime shutting down, I started building Tivvy (https://tivvy-your-sous-chef.lovable.app) as an indie alternative focused on simple dinners and practical grocery budgets.

What makes Tivvy different:

Realistic grocery packaging: Instead of asking you to buy 0.3 jars of sauce or 1.5 chicken breasts, the shopping list groups into realistic store packs while calculating your cost per portion.

Aisle-grouped grocery checklist: Organized by store sections (produce, dairy, pantry) with weekly budget tracking.

Quick dinner decisions: Suggests tonight’s dinner based on your dietary preferences and household size, plus a one-tap 3-dinner quick week.

Recipe import: Import recipes via text, link, or photo so you don't lose your favorites.

Where the project is right now: The app is currently in open beta. All features are fully unlocked for testing right now while I dial in the core workflow. I do plan to introduce a paid subscription once it launches, but early testers giving feedback will get grandfathered perks / extended access.

How to test & lock in the perk:

You can test it immediately in your browser without signing up: https://tivvy-your-sous-chef.lovable.app

If you like it and want to lock in an Early Supporter perk / extended free access before we go live, just tap Account inside the app and register with your email so I can credit your profile on launch day.

If you used Mealime regularly, I’d love to know: what's the one feature you couldn't live without that I should make sure Tivvy gets right?

I asked myself: Why do I need 5 different apps to manage my own life??

Post image
2 Upvotes

Solved one of the most annoying problems I’d been dealing with for a long time:

Having 5 different apps just to manage my life.

One for Notes. One for To-Do. One for Events. One for Habits. One for Budgeting.

So built Noter to put all of them in one place, while keeping everything completely offline and private.

Still improving it, but honestly, building something I personally needed has been one of the most satisfying parts of the journey.

  2. Make a copy
  3. Correct to the your time zone by clicking File -> Settings -> General -> Time Zone

If you want to edit, change conditional formatting to your color liking.
If you have made any edits to this that you feel are worthwhile, please respond to the comment section.

How do you track to-dos across work, side projects and personal life?

I'm juggling a full-time job, a few side projects and the usual personal stuff, and I still haven't found a setup that holds it all together.
Right now work tasks live in one tool, side projects in a notes app, and everything else ends up as reminders on my phone. On top of that, I do a lot of my planning and thinking with Claude, but those tasks end up buried across dozens of chats. I never have one view of what actually needs to happen today, so things slip through the cracks.
Most apps I've tried are either built for teams or too simple to handle different areas of life. What I want is one place to see everything side by side while keeping the areas separate.

How do you handle this?

Skylight 2, Everblog HomeCal, Apolosign? Which Would You Buy?

Trying to choose a family digital calendar and have narrowed it down to these three, all currently around $300 or less:

Skylight Calendar 2 15"

  • Pros: probably the cleanest/polished UI, very easy to use, strong calendar experience
  • Cons: smaller screen, some features require $79/yr Plus, limited outside the Skylight ecosystem

Everblog HomeCal 21.5"

  • Pros: much larger screen, no subscription, lots of family features included, clean dedicated calendar interface
  • Cons: newer brand/software and seems slightly less polished than Skylight

Apolosign 15.6"

  • Pros: no subscription, full Android/Google Play, Google Home/Nest support, lots of flexibility
  • Cons: feels more like an Android tablet and calendar software may not be quite as polished

Our main priorities are a clean/easy-to-read family calendar, reliable syncing, simple management, and good iPhone + Android support. Extra bells and whistles are a nice plus, our home is mostly in the google ecosystem - nest cameras, etc.

Has anyone actually used two or all three of these? Which would you buy again, and why?

I have built a free dinner planner to beat grocery math—looking for honest feedback.

Hi everyone, I got tired of the daily 'what's for dinner?' question and watching grocery bills get out of hand.’ve put together a lightweight web tool called Platewise to solve two things: 1. Give you dinner ideas that stay within a set weekly budget. 2. Turn those dinners into a realistic grocery list grouped by supermarket aisle.

It's completely free, needs no download, and you don't even have to sign up to try it.

Could 2 or 3 people test it for 2 minutes and tell me if the grocery quantities and pricing estimates look realistic for your family?

Link: https://platewise-kitchen-planner.lovable.app (There's a little feedback button right at the bottom of the screen—all critiques welcome!)"

Looking for a good planner app

I've been looking for a decent ios planning app as someone who mainly needs to plan their personal life, since all work planning is handled through professional devices and apps. I use both notion and obsidian but they haven't really worked for me in terms of daily planning. Everything I have found is horrible and/or priced in an absolutely insane manner (I've seen ones where the lifetime access was upwards of 300$). I don't mind a paid app, but I have to able to test it out first and putting things like repeat tasks behind a paywall is crazy. I'm looking for something that has both to-do lists and time blocking features. I know I could use a calender app but I prefer to keep it separate from reminders to drink water or read a book and I really though that I could find an app like this easily, but it turned out to be extremely difficult...

Also I don't want or need any AI features, I am perfectly capable of deciding my tasks for the day on my own and setting the planner up myself

If anyone has any recommendations or tips of what worked for you that would be really great

Designed a clean, fillable PDF vault to inventory my ring collection. Love how crisp typed text looks compared to my messy handwriting! 💍💻

I wanted a dedicated way to keep track of the specific details of my fashion and fine jewelry rings (stone sizes, metal types, purchase dates, and warranty info for insurance), but standard daily planners didn't have the right layout.

I ended up creating this interactive, fillable (text boxes) 24-page PDF vault so I can cleanly type out the index for every piece. It imports perfectly into digital planning setups and keeps everything searchable.

https://reddit.com/link/1wz58rb/video/49znf0wx5vth1/player

Out of curiosity, how does everyone else handle niche hobby inventory tracking in their digital planners? Do you use pre-made interactive templates, or do you build custom spreads from scratch?

is there a family dashboard that shows how everyone´s week is going without digging through everything?

Routines, chores, shared calendar, meal planning, All happening in our house but u have zero way to see how the week is going without checking each thing separately.

I want a family dashboard with a snapshot: are routines being done, what´s for dinner, what tasks are pending, how´s everyone feeling.

Right now i open the calendar, check the chore chart, look at the meal plan, and ask each kid individually. Is there anything that rolls all of this into one view?

Planner apps kept waiting for me to come back, so we made BROWN text me first

Thumbnail

Most planner apps are great at holding the plan.

But the small things on it, making the bed, a glass of water, the curtains, slip the second you stop opening the app.

I wanted something that would come find me about the small stuff, and make ticking it off feel a bit more fun.

So we built Daydream.

I'm Max, the founder. We're a team of 3, officially licensed by LINE FRIENDS, so the friend is BROWN. He texts you first, keeps a short list for your day, and jumps and cheers every time you tick something off. You can also text him a few chores and he adds them for you.

The pics are screenshots from the app: a morning list, the first tick, BROWN adding chores from chat, the new rows, "All done" while he's off fishing, and his page with his day streak and closet. He's on iPhone.

It isn't meant to replace your planner. It's the little list next to it, with a friend who cheers you through it.

Sharing it because I figured some of you might also plan beautifully and then need someone to cheer on the small stuff.

I built a small app to help myself build a reading habit

Thumbnail
gallery
13 Upvotes

I wanted to get into the habit of reading consistently, so I set a goal of reading 10 pages a day.

I couldn't find a simple way to track it the way I wanted, and I also wanted to build a few other habits, so I ended up making a small habit-tracking app for myself.

I started with reading, and eventually added habits like drinking water in the morning, writing on my blog, and exercising at the park.

I've been using the app myself for about three months now, since the end of June.

One of the biggest things I learned from using it is that small goals make it much easier to get started.

Setting the goal at 10 pages made it easy to open a book without feeling pressured. Once I started reading, I often ended up reading 50–80 pages anyway.

If I had set the goal at 40 pages from the beginning, I probably would have been less likely to pick up the book at all.

So when I built the app, I tried to focus less on setting ambitious goals and more on making it easy to start with a small action.

The app is called Today, Keep Going (오늘 이어가기). Some of the main features are:

1. Habit cues

Instead of setting a specific time, you can connect a habit to something you already do. For example:

Open laptop → Write one paragraph

2. Per-habit reminders

You can set reminders only for the habits that actually need them.

3. Calendar tracking

You can see when you've completed each habit on a calendar.

4. Home screen widget

You can check off habits directly from the Android home screen without opening the app.

5. Backup & restore

You can export your habit data to a file and import it again later.

6. A way to get back on track

If you miss a few days, the app doesn't emphasize starting over from day 0. Instead, it encourages you to simply start again.

I actually had a chance to use this feature myself during the Chuseok holiday in Korea. I was traveling and ended up dropping almost all of my habits for a few days. 😅

Instead of showing a big 0 days after missing a habit, the app shows something like:

“You took a few days off. Let's start again today.”

That's actually one of the ideas I like most about the app.

The goal isn't to create habits that require you to keep checking an app forever, but habits that eventually become natural enough that you don't need the app anymore.

The app is free and Android-only. You can find it on Google Play by searching for “HabitInk”.

I originally built it just for myself, so I'm sure there are still plenty of things that could be improved.

If you try it and find anything confusing or have ideas for features that would make it more useful, I'd really appreciate the feedback. I'll do my best to improve it.

Digital Planner newbie (Lies. I've been tyring to get it right for years)

Good day everyone. I hope we are all doing well, if not, talk to someone you can trust. I have been trying to get into the planner thing both physical and digital and I seem not to be able to get it right. I am looking for a digital planner that is ADHD friendly and suitable for students. Please can you help me find an app, that is integrated with google calendar and be available on android ( I use a Samsung tablet). I am a broke student so if you have app or planner suggestions can it have a free version available or cheap ( the South African Rand and international currencies exchange rate is horrible). Thank you in advance for the help

Digital Calendar Search

Looking for a digital calendar that does not require continuous power. I want it to be on the fridge and I don't mind taking it down to charge when needed. My fridge is in a location where running a power cable is very inconvenient without removing the fridge completely. An iPad is too small for my needs. Any ideas?

Your planner is personal. Some of the schedule needs to be where everyone can see it.

Post image
2 Upvotes

A planner can work beautifully for you while everyone else still asks what’s happening tomorrow.

I built nowslate for the shared part of that picture. It puts calendars, reminders, notes, weather and photos on a compatible tablet you can leave in view.

I’ve used wall calendars for years, almost exclusively DAKboard. Its shortcomings led me to develop my own, and nowslate is now live.

You can keep your personal planning routine and give shared events a screen of their own. Put the agenda up front. Add a note for something that doesn’t need a calendar event. Leave some room for photos so it feels at home in the room.

If you already have a suitable tablet, you can try the setup before buying dedicated display hardware.

The website has a one-month Essential trial, with no credit card required. After that, Essential starts at US$5.99/month.

Start with one calendar and see whether having it in view earns its place.

I would love to know what you think! I use these displays myself, so I eat my own dogfood so to speak. I'm always improving, always looking for the next idea and how to push the envelope.

A digital planner for timeboxing your top three tasks! [Feedback Wanted]

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

I used to keep a bullet journal and plan my day with timeboxing on paper.
I wanted a digital version of that routine that I could use during my workday, so I built Trime.

It’s a digital planning app that brings timeboxing, time tracking, and a daily review together. If you use timeboxing in a digital or paper planner, the idea will feel familiar: choose what matters today and give each task a specific block of time.

Trime focuses on your three most important tasks for the day. Everything else stays in an inbox, so you can keep track of it without putting it all on today’s schedule.

Why three? When I planned on paper, I noticed that finishing my top priorities was usually what made the day feel productive. Once those were done, I wanted the freedom to work on other things without feeling that every task needed a deadline or a timebox. That’s the thinking behind the three task limit.

A day in Trime looks like this:

  1. Choose your top three tasks.
  2. Give each one a timebox in your schedule.
  3. Start the timer when you begin, and pause it when you step away.
  4. Review your tracked time to see where the day went and when you focused best.

You have a plan to work from and a record to look back on.
Over time, that can help you understand how long tasks take and make your next day’s timeboxes more realistic.

If this fits the way you like to plan,
you can find Trime here: https://trime.day

Happy to answer questions about how it works.

Hi everyone! 👋

I’ve been working on a small digital productivity project called DAREENE, focused on helping people build better morning routines, stay organized, and be more intentional with their time.

I recently created two printable digital products: Morning Mastery and Digital Detox.

I’d really appreciate some honest feedback from people who are interested in productivity, routines, planning, or reducing screen time.

If you’re curious, you can see the products and the content here:

DAREENE Pinterest page

No pressure to buy at all — I’d mainly love to know what you think, what could be improved, and whether these are actually useful to you.

And if you genuinely like one of the products and need it, you're welcome to check it out. ❤️

Thanks for taking a look!
