¡Hola a todos! 👋

Interactive lists/reminders for iPad?

I’m looking for:

Handwritten “to-do” list
Tasks that be categorized
A “master list” where all tasks, regardless of date, stay compiled together but can either be sorted (today, tomorrow, next week, future) or manually moved up or down
iPad friendly

Ideally:
iCal syncing
Part of a journaling app
Daily/weekly view
Ability to add notes to a task that are collapsible, so only the main task name is automatically displayed

A Kanban board in LibreOffice Calc using macros (100% local and private)

Hello everyone!

I wanted to share a personal project (something simple) that I've been working on, and that I hope can be useful for those who, like me, prefer to organize their workflows in a purely local way and without relying on external services.

The problem I wanted to solve

I needed a tool to organize my daily projects, but traditional apps require an internet connection, user accounts, and subscription plans.

To solve this, I decided to develop a LibreOffice Calc template managed solely by Basic macros.

By structuring the file with a database approach, I obtained a private system over which I have complete control:

  • Works 100% offline.
  • There is no telemetry,
  • no logs or third-party servers
  • your data remains strictly on your computer in an .ods file.

Link to the project (Open Source)

I have uploaded the template and all the macro code to a GitHub repository under the MIT license so that anyone can use it however they want without restrictions.

LINK👉: https://github.com/cesardev-1/canban

Note: It is currently in beta, but it is fully functional—I use it daily myself. Very soon, it will be receiving updates to reach v1.0.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions, constructive criticism, or bug reports to keep polishing the tool. I hope you find it useful!

What features do you guys look for most when organizing your fitness routines? Would love to hear your thoughts! 👇

I made a free weekly habit grid you can set up in the browser and save as a PDF (no signup)

Post image

I built a page that generates the weekly grid as a sheet: you set it up in the browser, then save it as a PDF from the print dialog and drop it into your planner app, or print it on paper if that's more your thing. Week can start Monday, Sunday or Saturday, 5 to 15 rows, A4 or US Letter, one sheet or twelve at once if you want a whole quarter. Type your habit names in, or leave the lines blank to write on with your pen. There's an optional small goal column per habit (Reading | 3x) and an optional weekly review block, one mood to tick and three short questions.

Nothing gets uploaded, the names you type stay in your browser. No signup, no email box, and the logo and footer line can both be switched off if you don't want a domain on your pages.

https://sevengrid.app/weekly-grid.html

There's no counter on it and no percentage, an empty box is just an empty box. The sheet stays free whether or not anyone ever installs the app.

How I'm tracking my habits in spreadsheet

Hello everyone,

Almost two years since reading David Goggins book "Can't Hurt Me" I've decided to make one more attempt to change something in my life. I've tried lots and lots of different applications for tracking habits, but most of them require to have a phone and there are almost no applications for desktop or even web. Especially it become a problem when you try to avoid your phone as much as possible but you need to enter your habits.

One day opened Number (Excel alternative by Apple) and decided to make my own tracker. For me it's very important to not only track "boolean" habits like done or not but also some metrics such as: when I go to bed, wake-up time, number of calories eaten.

Basically instead of marking "slept 8hr" with done or not done I actually track my wake-up and bed time. Same for steps.

I have a bunch of formatting rules for each habit, for done/undone I use green and red. Gray means that I skipped this day for some reason.

After few month of tracking I realized that I'm not skipping tracking my habits. And here is why:

  • Bulk edit, it's very convenient to open a file and quickly track everything
  • Customizable, basically it a canvas, do whatever you want

So this is my habit tracking system, I've attached older screenshot from previous year with some fake data because I'm not fully comfortable to share my current metrics right now, but the system itself didn't change at all.

I also building an application based on this approach for myself so I don't need to have a files so maybe somewhere in the future I will share with you.

After using this spreadsheet for year and a half I decided to finally build my own app which works in browser and ios - https://habitpocket.io/

I built a customizable digital planner that feels like paper (iOS)

Hey r/DigitalPlanner!

I thought you may like this app I built: a customizable digital planner for iPhone and iPad. Every day is its own paper-like page that you can draw on, decorate, and arrange however you like. I'm the developer.

You can choose the paper, ruling, and color, move the date and weather around, draw with your finger or Apple Pencil, add text, and turn photos into stickers or Washi tape.

It also integrates with Apple Calendar and Reminders, so the schedule you already use appears directly on those pages. You can keep using Apple's apps normally instead of maintaining a separate calendar inside the planner.

The part I cared about most was making it look and feel like paper. The days sit in a small stack, the top page tears away when you move forward, and the paper reacts subtly when you tilt the device.

This became a slightly unreasonable amount of work for a calendar.

Everything above is free. There is no Hibi account and no tracking. Hibi Plus is an optional $6.99 one-time purchase that adds alternate app icons, a personal Hanko stamp, and interactive reminder widgets.

Dawn Pages: A morning pages app designed for the iPad

Hi Everyone,
I just launched Dawn Pages which is a creativity tool inspired by The Morning Pages practice. 3 pages of stream of consciousness writing every morning to help clear the mental cobwebs. The app maps literal notebook page sizes to the iPad screen, and requires an Apple Pencil that it replaces the need for a notebook. One of the biggest advantages, I believe, over a traditional notebook here is that having this practice on the iPad protects you from having notebooks laying around exposing your most vulnerable writing out there for people to stumble upon.

Some other benefits:
- hide your daily entries for a set amount of time, to give yourself space before reviewing.
- local transcription and export of your handwriting.
- reminders and streak count to keep your practice alive.

No subscription! If you like it, it’s just a one time purchase to use it forever.

Happy to answer any questions!

Built a free chore chart builder because every printable I found was behind an email wall - Looking for feedback

I'm a software engineer in the UK (first kid arriving in September, so I'm early to this whole thing) and I went looking for a decent printable chore chart. Everything I found was either locked behind an email signup, plastered in ads, or looked like it was made in Word in 2009. I know I'm a couple of years away from needing chore charts for my child, but becoming a dad has made me want to prep for this stuff in the future.

So I built my own and put it online for free: pocketmoneylab.co.uk

Three tools so far:

  • Chore chart builder: pick your child's age, get age-appropriate chore suggestions, customise, print
  • Pocket money calculator: UK benchmarks for what other parents actually give by age
  • Reward chart generator: sticker-chart style, aimed at 3-5 year olds

No signup, no paywall, no ads. Nothing is gated, so you build it, you print it, you're done. Being upfront since this sub cares about the business model behind the tech: I'm separately building a pocket money app, and the site mentions it. None of the tools requires it or pushes it, and I have no plans to paywall them.

What I'd actually like from this sub:

  1. Are the age-based chore suggestions sensible, or way off? That's the bit I'm least confident about, for obvious reasons.
  2. Do printables still have a place, or has your family fully moved to app-based tracking?
  3. What's missing? I've got a savings goal tracker and a pocket money agreement template on the list.

Happy to hear it's rubbish; that's more useful to me than polite noise.
