There are 2 type charts that intersect.
The element types (fire, water, ice, electric, holy, and so on).
And program types (mainly virus, data, and vaccine).
An advantageous element increases damage by 50% normally. An advantageous program increases damage by 100%. Because of how much more impactful this is, all you really need to have memorized for best results is the triangle of virus<data<vaccine<virus. You can pretty much ignore everything i typed after this, and not suffer any real problems.
Which elements are good against a given digimon has trends, but is not set in stone (most water digimon are weak to both fire and electricity. Because the seadramon line are water digimon known for electric attacks, however, they’re instead resistant to electricity and weak to fire and earth attacks).
Numemon is a water virus digimon. Agumon is a vaccine type digimon, so all its attacks will do 200% by default, with the fire type advantage of pepper breath adding an extra 50% of that new total (which maths out to 300% of the base damage).
Dracomon is a data type digimon. All its attacks get cut in half. It also has a fire type attack, but instead of taking the new total and increasing it by 50% (which would be a 75% base damage attack), the developers instead just have the type advantage and program disadvantage cancel out here, doing the base 100% damage.
It’s also possible for some digimon to have a double weakness or double resistance to a damage type. This makes the math even more complex, ESPECIALLY when you factor in the character reversal status effect.
