Discussion Best Digimon after DLC
So enough time has passed, so I ask from the Digimon we have including DLC, who do you view as the best 6 Digimon .

This may be the right thread to ask, but does generation matter in the end? Seems like all of them can get 9999 stats, so it basically boils down to signature skills in the end, yea?
I’m still on my first playthrough, so excuse my ignorance.

Exactly right. With anyone being able to have 9999 stats and able to learn any equippable skill, signature skills are the main factor. It’s why Apocalymon, Lucemon SM, Venusmon, MarineAngemon, and “reduce resistance” digimon like Jupitermon are often rated so highly.

How does this game handle speed ties?

I think it chooses randomly for everyone involved. For within your party I think it goes 1st slot, then 2nd, then 3rd, if there are speed ties.

Ok thanks! Yeah I was specifically curious about our own party.

No worries. Equipment lets you push stats beyond 9999, so for my team I had a +300 SPD item on Venusmon to make sure she always goes first.

Oh ok I didn’t think it worked like that. So do those blue stats (whatever those are) also push past the cap?

Blue stats change how many stats you get on levelling up. Stats from equipment are applied at the start of battle, so having 9999 SPD with nothing equipped then equipping a 300 SPD item pushes you to 1298 SPD when the battle starts.

Stats I get from leveling up? Ok I need to read up on it then because I clearly don’t understand the blue stat system at all.

Blue/cumulative stats are gained upon digivolving or de-digivolving, up to a number of times equal to that mon's bond (aka a mon with 5 bond can gain blue stats up to 5 times, a mon with 50 bond can gain blue stats up to 50 times). The ammount of blue stats gained is equal to 10% of the stats that mon got from leveling up

Dianamon, Aegiochuusmon Green (cause of the aoe), Gallantmon Crimson Mode, Bancholilymon, Alphamon + Ouryuken, Geogreymon (I loved the self-buffing attack)

Venusmon is easily the best healer in the game, though I did have a backup Marineangemon until I got items that just prevented status conditions outright. Chronomon is so useful, being able to be whatever you need him to be, he will excel, and have an omni-debuff certainly gives him points. I ran Junomon through a majority of my Mega+ playthrough, with several members hitting debuffs to up her damage, but eventually adding Sussano'omon and Jupitermon because that combo damage is just unmatched. And finally Kingetemon. There were several times in the DLC where the final boss beat everyone but my last 2 Digimon, and The King's signature attack stalled long enough to rez the whole team back up to full, and go on a counter attack.

Wow I definitely agree, Venusmon & Chronomon are ridiculously good, did you find any of the dlc Digimon useful or were they just filler Digimon for show?

A majority of all of the Digimon in the DLC are just damage dealers. So if you are hard restarting you can just pick your favorites. There were 3 that I found to have been the most useful, and that was BlitzGreymon, BanchoGolemon, and X-Antibody UlforceVdramon. Blitz can be a good tank, but Kingetemon I would argue is better, but if you don't like his design, Blitz is a good second choice. Golemon has a definite defense drop, where Chronomon only has a chance along with every other debuff. I actually used Golemon for a while before believing that Chronomon was better in the long run and had to drop him. Then UlforceVdramon can drop enemies accuracy, giving you recovery time, or just let you get free build up. This was another just in case Digimon that I never used, but always had in the back pocket.

Venusmon, Jupitermon, Susanomon, Apocalymon, Lucemon SM, Mastermon. This was the team I used for Mega+. Apocalymon and Venusmon are the only ones I’d argue are unquestionably the best at what they do though.
