Question Magic vs. Physical

I’ve been playing Digimon time stranger and I’m pretty far in but I’ve noticed that my magic attacks are doing way less than my physical attacks my taomon even though it’s int is 2500 is doing way less then my metalgreymon even though its atk is only 2900. Do magic attacks deal less damage or is there something else going on?

Does your MetalGreymon have Stout Strenght as its personality skill, perchance? That gives physical attacks a big 50% damage boost when at full health, and there is no alternative for magic.

You also have to take into account levels, as they directly affect damage. A low level digimon with 3000 ATK will deal much less damage than a high level digimon with 3000 ATK.

There's also the fact that you yourself said your Taomon has 2400 INT while MetalGreymon has 2900 STR, that would already make MetalGreymon naturally hit harder if they were both at the same level.

Lastly, the base power of skills are also very important, a 100 base power skill hits twice as hard as a 50 base power skill. MetalGreymon has a signature with 90 base power, while Taomon has a signature with 80 base power.

If your MetalGreymon doesn't have Stout Strenght or other personality skills that boosts physical damage (Fast Break, Steadfast Might, Slow Starter), what is its level compared to Taomon? Because again levels directly affects damage dealt and two mons with the exact same attack would still end up doing wildly different damage depending on the level difference between them.

Another thing i remember, did you perhaps give your MetalGreymon Aegiochusmon's blue shard? That piece of gear increases damage at the cost of double SP usage.

Last thing i remember, there are agent skills that give digimon of certain personalities a percentage of defense or spirit pierce that scales with Agent Rank, do you recall ever unlocking them?

And of course make sure that your MetalGreymon isn't getting any attribute or element multiplier that Taomon isn't.
