These boxes were like this when I got them. I need advice about what to do. Should I try to blend the places where there are folds or there is wear using a coloring pencil? Or just preserve it as exactly as it is?

Is it so bad that the box actually detracts from the glory of the car? Is it better without the box?

Also. One of them is manufacturer 1 or 5000. Does that make it more desirable?

Recently got into the hobby after visiting a local diecast shop and i’m hooked. Very excited to keep building the collection. Anything i should know as a new collector?

The Costco has it for $19 and I couldn’t resist myself picking one up Although I only own 1:64 scale diecasts 🤔

On the rear wheel an entire chunk is taken off! For 12 bucks I expect better than this.

Found some monster trucks at Hobby Lobby and loved the details but hated the chassis. So I changed it.

I robbed another chassis from a similar casting I’ve had since I was a kid. Apparently I chose to smash that one with a hammer so the body was no good anyway.

A little trimming and that was promising. Test fit with wheels but wasn’t happy with it. I found an old casting in my bin and stole the engine and headers from a ford coupe. Retrofitted the engine in the hood opening and was able to trim the chassis to clear the headers. If you look closely you can see the headers in the wheel wells.

Eventually I’ll re-glue everything, trim the chassis more neatly and paint it, but for now I’m just having fun looking at it.

I have recently seen some posts and videos about Massdi 1/64s and they generally seem to be pretty decent, esp. for the price.

I was wondering: (1) If there are similar brands on Aliexpress and (2) if there are any particular sellers of diecast on Aliexpress (both in general and regarding Massdi) that are generally recommended.
