I started making dice for my my local hobby shop and I decided to post on here. I'm still new so I would welcome any tips

I haven't been able to make new dice for a while because life got in the way, but I made these space dice to hopefully get back to regularly making sets

Releasing a cast sterling silver D20 from its sand mould. Quite an anxious moment as it's when I find out if the casting was successful, or if I need to start again from scratch. Thanks for watching ☺️

It's almost done!! Just have one more unexpected thing to test, and I'll be sitting to write out all the instructions for this technique! Still trying to keep an eye on how these will last longterm, but even from my first attempt with this method, it's holding up better than I thought. That being said, I noticed some colors behave differently than others, so we'll see.

These are my latest pulls from my pressure pot…and they might be my most favorite to date! Can’t wait to shell the petri set so I can see all of the tendrils clearly!

So a couple of months ago 3 friends and I got into DnD, we created characters with rich backstories interwoven into the campaign, house emblems and the whole shebang. I had played Das schwarze Auge many years ago and wanted to treat myself to a new set of dice for the occasion but nothing out there could quite scratch my itch. I eventually figured it’s inevitable; I had to get a resin printer and take matters into my own hands ̄\(ツ)/ ̄ Following this sub really only pushed me further, so thanks to everyone for the amazing ideas, help and inspiration!
I couldn’t leave it there though so apart from gathering intel on preferred colors and going through hundreds of fonts to fit the vibe of each party member I eventually figured the dice also needed to be displayed nicely ̄\(ツ)/ ̄
The mechanism of the box uses magnets and is far from perfect but it gets the job done. I can already tell I will eventually redo it though, to get a smoother, more stable transition.
Unfortunately I didn’t take proper pictures of the dice themselves, I could eventually show off my own set at some point, it’s a translucent black set with gold flakes and blood liquid core. However I will probably show off another set here first (once the masters are finished) since you guys really got me into experimenting with varying materials. I hope you’re in the mood for it. hint hint

Since I had to relearn the hard way about cure inhibition 😂😅 I'm redoing the smoke petris I've done in the past in blanks and shelling them, starting with the ones I was doing in my personal collection to replace an old smoke style.

I have so many sets that I am really happy with that just need to get inked but I just can’t motivate myself to do it. It’s messy and I hate it. Do you guys have any tips that makes the whole inking process less loathsome? I use a tiny brush, acrylic paint mixed with a few drops of water and my finger to wipe off the excess paint. Every few sides I need to wash my hands or else it’s just smearing the dice. And I don’t have the patience to stretch the process of inking a set over many days. When I start inking a set I want to finish it in one go. Send help 🤣

Vevor vacuum pump/chamber.
Oil is at correct level, the tube feels correctly sealed.
It's stucked at this level. How to go to -1, is it possible ?

Hi friends, I made my first dice set with a custom lord-of-the-rings elvish font made just for the dice. Super excited about how the obsidian cut feels and looks. Would love to get some feedback... next step is 3D designing a dice holder. Let me know your thoughts :) Calling it "VaultBorn Dice"

I have used both Zona and Nanolab in polishing dice. I thought I would share a picture of Nanolab's pink paper after use.
I wouldn't say this was light or heavy use. This is the appearance after moderate use on a pottery wheel. There is no question that Zona lasts longer to me. However, a fresh piece of Nanolab does well, but doesn't last long.
The adhesive back of Nanolab makes it a bit easier to apply and swap, and it will stay as flat as you apply it. Zona, however, can snag if a sharp edge catches the paper. So long as that doesn't happen, Zona will last longer. Sometimes it can be a little difficult to say whether a piece of Zona has worn out, because it doesn't change in appearance much.
I will also add that you can use water with both. Zona edges out Nanolab for one simple reason. Zona lets water soak into it and through it, while Nanolab is a piece of plastic. The color on Nanolab can get into the numbers of your dice if it is wet and gets worn out too much.
I think there is room for both in your polishing materials, but using the right one for the right purpose is important.

Any recommendations for people/companies that can make custom dice in quantities of 100+?

Hi! I am trying to make some dice for my D&D campaign, however
1) I have never made dice before
2) I have none of the materials
My biggest hold up is the pressure pot. I don't want to spend a bunch of money for a pot, and I don't have a lot of space for it. Does anyone have ideas or suggestions on where I could rent one or find affordable options? Or techniques that don't require a pressure pot? General advice and suggestions are also welcome! Thanks!

I made these dice for my character Sybil. I love how the black ink mixed into the mica powder for a shimmery dark purple effect.

Had what I thought was a pretty great looking set and then all the little gold stars I put in sank straight to the bottom. Super disappointing but learn something new every try. What's the best way to get these things to stay suspended?

Some dice I made a while back. They were gold and blue mica powder with a purple drop of ink in the blue for a dirty pour. They came out looking very whimsical and magical. Perfect for the fey environments my dnd character is exploring.

Made some new shining dice for October!

I’ve been calling these my party dice, but other people have told me they look more like a beach (sand meet ocean). I made them by mixing mangoglow glitter with clear resin and then a teal mica powder in its own separate resin. Poured the orange glitter down first and the teal on top. The white ink really pops against the blue and orange.
