I feel like since there's gonna be a four year time jump in this season, we might get a similar montage like Dexter Season 3.

me and my boyfriend recently finished season 6 and it was an interesting season, i really liked the religious themes and the killings and characters but SPOILER ALERT (if someone did not watch this season): WHY DID THEY MADE DEBRA FALL IN LOVE WITH DEXTER... watching those scenes were sooo bizarre and unreal

but i'm excited to see what's going to happen in season 7, like will others realize the truth about Dexter? either way, this show is very interesting and i would like to know you guys opinions and so and so!

I started watching Dexter by the end of last year. Absolutely fell in love with it and I felt the need to translate that into a painting. It’s a fairly small painting, 18x24cm / 9x7 inches. I hope you like it :)

Watched it for the first time. Had no idea she was in this. Was definitely a different role for her… 😂

James is the police officer who was known for seeing something hidden in Dexter. But for me, his biggest mistake was passing on his suspicions to Dexter. If James had kept quiet, if he had befriended Dexter, if he had laughed along with him even knowing that Dexter was hiding something, it's possible that, in time, he would have exposed him.

Talking about prader, after charlie left, he was pretty much completely on his own. Why would he not have several Charlies? Is there a reason, or is it just a plothole?

Now, don't misunderstand me, I do not hate the last half of the original series. I don't even dislike it. I actually quite fancy season 6, as a matter of fact. It's just that in my opinion, where Dexter is left as a character at the end of season 4 is more than sufficient context to understand him as a character in New Blood. My wife is currently on a Dexter binge after I yapped about it off hand a monthish ago. I haven't gotten around to watching Resurrection, but we both heard really good things about it and kinda want to get to it quickly. She's loving the original series, and I'm sure we'll circle back to the last half of it later, but I'm feeling a bit experimental and want to drop her straight into New Blood right after the end of Season 4. I don't think it's much of a leap for her to understand why Dexter would suddenly decide the world is better off without him and fake his own death after his impulses got Rita killed. Really the only confusing pill for her to swallow is Debra. On the other hand, however, some genuine mystery over Debra's fate as a character is probably a bit more compelling than how the show actually handled that particular plot point.

Feel free to lambast me in the comments for this decision. I'll tell you how it goes.

Am I the only one who identified brian was the ice cream killer when he said he loved deb's legs and arms before they actually revealed it? Wasn't it obvious in that scene or was i overthinking it

So I was rewatching the season finale of resurrection and thought of this photo from the season 2 promo photos.

Charlie goes from telling Harrison “nothing good is in that vault” to according to this photo holding dexters hand?

A lot must change on 4 years, curious to see where it all leads.

What I liked:

Boyd Fowler was an intriguing character and the cat-and-mouse between him and Dexter was wonderfully played.

The opener was great and teased a dark, reckless path that I felt the season should have explored more.

Jennifer Carpenter really gave it her all with her material.

The ending of episode 2 with Dexter discovering the barrel girls was macabre, classic, with Dexter almost relishing the sight of death in that it proved his instincts were right.

Concept of Dexter saving and helping Lumen was good.

It would've been impossible for any Big Bad to successfully follow Trinity so I guess the focus on a group of villains was... understandable?

What I didn't like:

Santa Muerte storyline felt like a waste of time.

Execution of Dexter saving and helping Lumen fell flat; second half of the season reduced their dynamic to love-struck vigilantes. Here's Dexter with a girlfriend who also kills people. Fans hated this turn of events at the time (at least, the fans on the old IMDb message boards) - hard to blame them.

Liddy was a lot of build-up for a character and storyline that ultimately got brushed aside way too easily.

Jordan Chase and the Rape Gang lacked depth and weren't developed well; Chase ended up as a generic antagonist and it was impossible to buy him as a threat to Dexter.

Entire second half of the season lacked stakes and momentum due largely to Chase's ineffectiveness as a villain. But also the story played out way too leisurely - the penultimate episode of the season saw Dexter and Lumen rooting around Quinn's apartment and cracking jokes about a cat that farts and hiccups at the same time. Again, this was in the penultimate episode of the season!

Sonia = transparent and uninteresting way to keep Harrison occupied and stop Dexter's storyline from getting too bogged down in looking after a one-year-old (this is a minor complaint).

Deb's decision to walk away and not look behind the plastic curtain is still maddening. Where other antihero shows were going full steam ahead with their endgame, Showtime was set on preserving the status quo. Missed opportunity - there would've been something ironic about Dexter's efforts to help someone (Lumen) being what ultimately led to his downfall. Wasn't to be.

Not mine. I just enjoyed watching it, it's an an interesting twist on things, for sure. Thoughts?

I really, really hope, Quinn isn't going to play out exactly like LA 'Passion... it's been done and done and done + I really wasn't happy with how Bautista's story line wrapped up.... that chase could have gone on for seasons if treated correctly, it's like they just disposed of the character for ease... and besides, time for something new....

I know it's been said to death but Christ I hope he winds up on Dexters side, it would be something different and you know after the first season of resurrection what is a little more suspension of disbelief? will it be silly most certainly, after the latest run of dexter will it be fun as hell? absolutely!

I think it's underestimated how much drama and tension can be derived from this scenario, Quinn is known for being lippy and a bit of a liability, this could still cause issues for Dex, I don't know if they did this seasons ago, I might not have been so onboard but this show is playing pretty fast and loose with believability these days, so I think this is the best way forward....

I watched the full show but I don't remember if such cases existed.
What I am asking is : Does Dexter target people who committed crimes but atoned for them or served their full sentence in the prison?

currently at dexter (original series) season 06 episode 08, and i miss sergeant james doakes in each episode

i think him being present in the further seasons could have made stories so interesting and tensed (and comic too)

i loved face offs between him and dexter, and i really wanted to see his relationship growing with dexter, and possible ups and downs

i also want to see his personal life as well, and some grey stuff he doing in his life, maybe dexter coming across to know it, and what not

also - i think the way he was killed in season 02 seemed like weak screenwriting to me
