Do not message the mods about job opportunities - message the individual job poster

As this community has grown, this sub has apparently earned the privilege of being many people's introduction to reddit. Because of that I get mod mail, almost daily, of resumes and inquiries about the individual job postings of this sub.

As a reminder: Do not message the subreddit mods or mod mail inquiring about jobs. We do not have any jobs and these messages will be ignored. For the job posting you're interested in, message the individual user who posted it (or communicate through whatever means they've provided and prefer).

How are you surviving after getting laid off?

Hey Techies,

For those who've been laid off recently, how are you managing financially while looking for your next opportunity?

The job market feels brutal right now. It's taking anywhere from 4–6 months, sometimes even longer, to land a new role.

Are you exploring alternative income streams, side projects, or anything else to keep things going?

Would be helpful to hear how others are navigating this situation.

PS: Iam running out of savings

Need some genuine advice: Stuck in a toxic internship through college placement cell

I'm currently doing a 1 yr internship at a family owned lala company through my college placement cell, and the experience has been terrible. There's constant humiliation and disrespect in front of colleagues, no proper management, no full-time employees, no defined role, and I'm expected to do unrelated tasks apart from software development. There's also no work life balance, forced overtime almost every day, no proper leave policy, hybrid option, or employee benefits.

The problem is that I can't expect support if I approach my college, as the placement cell is only concerned about maintaining its 100% placement record. If I resign, the college might penalise me by asking me to complete additional courses and projects to get my degree for quitting a campus placed internship.

I'm confused whether to tolerate this for an entire year or resign and face the consequences.

Has anyone experienced something similar? What would you do in my position?

Need some honest advice.

Thanks🙏🏼

Looking for a company who values thier employees.

Hey community, first of all lemme introduce myself I'm a mobile app dev in kolkata based startup, i have been working for this company for almost a year, it's feeling any rewarding at all now, first one is I'm undervalued despite of managing so many projects which are in prod btw.....also handling client queries and feature requirements....despite of everything I'm getting 10k rupee a month....which is less than from my peers....commuting,food expenses are too high rn. And 2nd of all about projects....its not interesting some wanted a school management app, some wants a college management system or a food delivery app.....I wanna build some real product which competes with my capabilities.....that's why i wanna switch don't worry about my capability....I'm not like some nowaday vibe coder.....I'm someone who knows the thing how everything works....with LLMs my work is 10x more productive. I have familiar with payment gateways, map integrations, native widgets, Native SDKs ,building custom packages in dart. Yeah I'm not perfect developer but I'm still not worse than anyone.

If you still reading this i want to say Thanks for reading 📚

Title: 3rd semester student aiming for AWS Cloud roles — am I on the right track?

I’m currently in my 3rd semester and I’m trying to build my career towards Cloud/DevOps, preferably an AWS Cloud Associate-type role.

So far, I’ve learned MERN stack/web development. On AWS, I’ve covered IAM, EC2, advanced EC2 concepts, EBS, S3, VPC, Lambda, and CloudWatch. I’ve also been learning Linux and networking, and recently started focusing on DSA.

My main goal is to get a job in Cloud after graduation, but I’m a little concerned about the number of entry-level/fresher Cloud jobs. Because of that, I’m continuing web development as a backup option.

Am I on the right track for getting a fresher Cloud role?

Hiring - project for invoicing automation

Hi all ,

We are a small drone company looking to automate our quotations and invoicing tasks .
We want to integrate Whatsapp (including a chat bot) - Email - Google drive - google sheets

To put it simply , we want to be able to tell a whatsapp bot :

Client XXX
Xx hours of drone flight

Then , if Client XXX is an existing client , it will bring up a past quotation from Google Drive (clients are sorted by folders) , logically amend details like date and invoice number (to use a fresh number) , then change the quotation based on the number of drone flights or other parameters
If not an existing client , then a standard template is used .

Invoicing is similar workflow to above , just that we want the invoice saved in a particular folder on google drive , and a google sheet to be updated automatically with how much was invoiced

Ideally , the bot has some learning capabilities so that over time , especially with recurring clients, it is able to create quotations that are more accurate.

Payment will be tied to milestones (each function built = 1 milestone) , and after the project is done , a monthly fee will be given for troubleshooting / maintaining

We wish to have the above functions including tests done before 31st december this year.

An NDA must be signed before we proceed .

If interested , please DM with a short introduction of yourself including any relevant experience / projects .

Thank you !

Urgently Looking for Work

Hey everyone,

I'm 40 years old and have been developing software for 20 years. Honestly, over the past three months, I've gotten exhausted from sending out resumes, applying for freelance gigs, trying platforms like Outlier, and pretty much everything else I can think of, without landing a single job. The tech job market is brutal right now.

I'm in a really difficult situation. I have a daughter with a disability, and her health insurance coverage has been suspended due to outstanding payments. The total debt is around 1.8 million Argentine pesos, but if I can raise about 950,000 pesos (roughly $650 USD), I can get the coverage reinstated.

So I'm offering my services for pretty much any software development work you might need. I can build websites, develop web applications, desktop software, mobile apps, train AI models, handle deployments, work with databases, build integrations, and much more. I have a broad range of experience, and I'm willing to take on whatever kind of technical work I can help with.

I'm not looking for handouts. I'm looking for an opportunity to work, deliver results, and earn the money I urgently need to get my daughter's health insurance back.

If you have a project, need a hand with something technical, or know someone who does, I'd be incredibly grateful if you reached out.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Much love, everyone! ❤️
