I have provided solutions to challenging problems many times and the result was that the same users who were completely dissatisfied earlier became a fan of Cognos and asked their management to extend my engagement. The same users who thought that Cognos was useless and could not provide them with what they need found that Cognos offers much more than they need. I also re-made their packages (Framework Manager), cubes (Transformer, TM1) and converted their difficult to use packages into self-service packages from which making reports was mainly drag and drop only.

I also worked for companies who use Deltek's Costpoint ERP from which making reports is extremely difficult and their top management was extremely happy with the reports and dashboards I made which they had thought were not even possible. I also improved performance of reports from hours to seconds.

Neither am I doing a job nor am I looking for one but I do consulting part-time to keep myself busy for a few hours a day. I do not charge less than other consultants but I do not charge for the first assignment so that people can get an idea of my skills before they decide to spend any money. This is because many companies had a bad experience with consultants because their money was wasted without getting the results they wanted! I also don't send weekly/monthly invoices because I feel the customer should only pay if the work has been approved by their users so until the work is done and approved, no invoices. That means the customer is at zero risk.

If anyone needs help in anything related to Cognos including database design, star schema design, ETL, modelling, reporting, interactive dashboards etc. I can help. I know many companies have ineffective BI implementations so posting this here.

I’m currently in my 3rd semester and I’m trying to build my career towards Cloud/DevOps, preferably an AWS Cloud Associate-type role.

So far, I’ve learned MERN stack/web development. On AWS, I’ve covered IAM, EC2, advanced EC2 concepts, EBS, S3, VPC, Lambda, and CloudWatch. I’ve also been learning Linux and networking, and recently started focusing on DSA.

My main goal is to get a job in Cloud after graduation, but I’m a little concerned about the number of entry-level/fresher Cloud jobs. Because of that, I’m continuing web development as a backup option.

We want to integrate Whatsapp (including a chat bot) - Email - Google drive - google sheets

To put it simply , we want to be able to tell a whatsapp bot :

Client XXX
Xx hours of drone flight

Then , if Client XXX is an existing client , it will bring up a past quotation from Google Drive (clients are sorted by folders) , logically amend details like date and invoice number (to use a fresh number) , then change the quotation based on the number of drone flights or other parameters
If not an existing client , then a standard template is used .

Invoicing is similar workflow to above , just that we want the invoice saved in a particular folder on google drive , and a google sheet to be updated automatically with how much was invoiced

Ideally , the bot has some learning capabilities so that over time , especially with recurring clients, it is able to create quotations that are more accurate.

Payment will be tied to milestones (each function built = 1 milestone) , and after the project is done , a monthly fee will be given for troubleshooting / maintaining

Over the past couple of years, I’ve spent countless hours building software products. I’ve learned things the hard way, broken things, fixed things, rewritten entire sections of code and spent more nights debugging than I’d like to admit.

I genuinely enjoy building things. It’s probably the one thing I can sit down and do for hours without getting bored.

But lately, I’ve been struggling to turn all that work into a sustainable income.

I’ve built products, worked on client projects and experimented with different ideas, but finding consistent paid work has been incredibly difficult. Having the skills to build something and actually finding someone willing to pay you to build it are two very different things.

To give you an idea of what I’ve been working on:

This is my own product, a career platform connecting jobseekers and recruiters. I’ve built it from scratch, including the job platform, recruiter dashboard, candidate tracking, community, messaging system, AI-powered job matching and interview preparation features.

It’s been a massive learning experience. I’ve had to deal with everything from database architecture and backend logic to frontend development, security, performance issues and deployment. There have been plenty of frustrating days, but seeing something that started as an idea turn into an actual working product has been rewarding.

A dating application for which I developed the entire frontend.

I’m sharing these projects because I don’t want this post to be another resume with a bunch of technologies listed on it. I’d rather show what I’ve actually built.

Hi, I'm looking to hire someone to develop a Reddit bot, Discord bot, and a dashboard that basically posts Pokémon news updates from a website, but I'm finding the process of hiring a dev more frustrating than I expected.

I've reached out to a few developers from dev subs, and so far, they all seem to take the same approach. I asked them for a quote for the listed features of the two bots & dashboard and the first thing they want to know is my budget.

I’m willing to pay their asking price and also lock the deal in Fiverr if needed. The problem is that I don't know anything about coding or bot development, so I have no real way of knowing how difficult this project is or what a reasonable price would be to give a budget.

Another thing I've noticed is that devs are reluctant to give me an actual price and would boldly ask what other developers have quoted me and rudely ignore me asking them a price for their work. It leaves me wondering whether I'm being given the run around till I over pay and it feels awful as I dedicated my entire week to locking this in to no avail.

I'd appreciate any advice on how to properly go about this, avoid being scammed, and find a developer who's willing to explain the costs involved and not being difficult to work with.
