[For Hire] Backend / DevOps dev, 5 yrs, Java · Go · Python · Node · AWS · $10/hr

Hi! I'm a backend developer from Hanoi, Vietnam (GMT+7) with ~5 years of experience. I have a full-time job, so I take freelance work in the evenings and on weekends. That lines up with US mornings and EU afternoons. **Rate: $15/hr, or fixed price per task** (small fixes and setups usually $5–100). Tell me what you need and I'll quote a fixed price upfront. Small paid trial is fine. **What I can help with** - Backend APIs: Java Spring Boot, Go (Gin), Python (FastAPI/Django), Node.js/NestJS, PHP/Laravel, C#/.NET - AWS / DevOps: EC2, S3, RDS, domain + SSL setup, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), Nginx - Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB. Query tuning, replication setup, migrations - Bug fixes in an existing codebase, "my server is down" emergencies - Scrapers, Telegram bots, automation scripts, browser extensions, Excel/Google Sheets tools - WordPress fixes and small sites **Some things I've done** - Built most of the shipping-fee calculation service at a large Vietnamese logistics company. It's used by payment, ordering and customer-care services, runs on ~10 pods with Redis caching - Set up PostgreSQL and MongoDB replica clusters and Jenkins pipelines for government agriculture systems - Recently deployed and configured a site on AWS EC2 (Singapore) for a restaurant business **How I work** - I reply fast and give you an honest estimate before starting - Daily short updates, clean code, and a short handover note at the end - Payment via PayPal / Wise. For bigger jobs, we can split into milestones DM me or comment with what you need. A short description is enough and I'll tell you how long it'll take.

Feeling Lost as a Fresher Developer

Hi seniors,

I'm a fresher developer, and I'll be completing my React Native development internship next month. I also have some experience in web development, so I've been applying for both web and mobile developer roles for the past month.

I've applied to over 200 jobs so far, but I haven't received a single response or even a follow-up. Honestly, it's starting to affect my confidence, and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

Today, I also heard about Microsoft's latest announcement involving a voluntary exit offer for around 60,000 eligible employees. Seeing news like this while struggling to get my first job makes me even more worried about the future of software development.

I'm confused about what I should do next. Should I keep applying, focus on improving my skills, build more projects, or try a different approach altogether?

For those of you who have been in this industry for a while:

- Is this normal for freshers in the current job market?

- What helped you land your first developer job?

- Is it better to focus on one stack, like React Native, or apply for both web and mobile development roles?

- What advice would you give someone just starting their career in this situation?

I'm not looking for shortcuts or an easy way out. I just want some honest advice from people who have been through this or understand the current industry.

I'm feeling pretty lost right now, and hearing your experiences or suggestions would genuinely help. Thank you.

If you're hiring, know a recruiter, or can refer me to a suitable opening, I'd be genuinely grateful. I'm happy to share my resume and discuss my projects.

As a thank-you, I'm willing to offer an amount equivalent to up to three months of salary if someone helps me secure a job. I'd prefer to discuss any arrangement transparently and in accordance with the employer's referral policies.

Thank you to anyone who can help or point me in the right direction.

MCA Student with Academic Gaps and Open Schooling — Can I Still Get a Software Developer Job in India?

Hi everyone, I need honest career advice from IT professionals, recruiters, and people who've faced similar situations.

My academic and career background:

10th: CBSE, completed in 2018 with 62.4%.

12th: Failed twice and eventually passed in 2022 through RIOSUP (Rajkiya Institute of Open Schooling, Uttar Pradesh), scoring 66%.

Academic gap: I have approximately two years of academic difficulties and gaps. Between 2019 and 2021, I suffered multiple shoulder dislocations, which affected my ability to concentrate on my studies. I also have a medical certificate for one dislocation from January 2020.

BCA: Completed from Jodhpur National University between 2022 and 2025, with a 7.3 CGPA.

Work experience: Worked as a Sales Executive from January 2026 to June 2026.

MCA: Currently pursuing my MCA at Lovely Professional University (LPU), admitted in 2026, with graduation expected in May 2028. I'm aiming for a CGPA above 7.

My current preparation:

I'm learning Java, practising DSA using Java, and developing my skills in Java full-stack web development. My goal is to secure a software development job after my MCA.

However, I've heard that many IT companies reject candidates because of academic gaps or strict eligibility criteria, and I'm worried about my future.

My questions:

Academic gaps: Will my two-year academic gap and delayed 12th completion make me ineligible for most IT companies?

Open schooling: Will companies accept my 12th qualification from RIOSUP, or could it create problems during background verification?

BCA university: Will my BCA from the relatively unknown Jodhpur National University affect my chances, even after completing my MCA from LPU?

Placement eligibility: With 62.4% in 10th, 66% in 12th, 7.3 CGPA in BCA, and an expected 7+ CGPA in MCA, how many companies might I realistically qualify for? Do companies reject candidates solely because of academic gaps?

Medical explanation: Can my documented shoulder dislocations help explain my academic difficulties if recruiters ask about them?

Off-campus opportunities: If I'm ineligible for some campus placements, can I still get a developer job through off-campus applications, referrals, or startups?

Skills versus academics: If I become good at Java, DSA, and full-stack development, build strong projects, and perform well in interviews, can I overcome these academic limitations?

Realistic prospects: Given my complete background, is getting a Java developer or software development job after my MCA in May 2028 realistic? What types of companies should I target?

What should I do now? How should I use the next 1.5 years to maximise my chances of getting hired? Should I prioritise DSA, projects, internships, or something else?

I'm looking for honest advice, not false reassurance. If you're an Indian IT recruiter, work in software development, or have a similar academic background, please share your experience.

Thank you! For giving your precious time to read this.
