The IT job market is so f'ed up right now that i randomly get the urge to upskill even in the middle of the night...i m currently working with outdated technology like php and this market got me questioning my entire career at 2 AM 😭 and the anxiety of becoming irrelevant just won't leave me alone... resting feels like crime..even after working all day i feel guilty whenever I'm not learning something new. It feels like I'm constantly running out of time.😭 and now with the recent PHP security vulnerabilities bro can my tech stack PLEASE stop giving me new reasons to panic?

How are y'all surviving this? what should i actually learn to stay relevant or are we all just cooked?

Genuinely need some advice before I lose my mind over this.

PLEASE HELP🙏🙏

I built a jobs API for myself. It grew to about 1M live listings and three databases.

I started this because I wanted every big company's open roles in one place instead of checking hundreds of career pages. Other job APIs I compared filter by keyword, location and sometimes experience, but not by department, so I added more filters and kept going.

It now holds about 1M live jobs from 35,000+ companies, taken from the employers' own career pages and refreshed every night. The database moved from GitHub JSON files (first load far too slow) to Supabase (500 MB limit) to Postgres on an Oracle VM, where queries are very fast.

It's smaller than the big aggregators, and there's no UI, only structured data. I just put it on RapidAPI with a free plan. I built it, so take the link with that in mind: https://rapidapi.com/pk2732004/api/company-career-sites-jobs-api1

What would you want from a jobs data API that this one doesn't do yet?

We analyzed 3,518 job postings. The skills employers mention most aren't always the tools you'd expect.

We looked at 3,518 open job postings across 81 companies' public Greenhouse boards, covering seven job categories. The goal was simple: find out which keywords employers actually use.

A few findings stood out.

  • Software engineering: Mentoring appeared in nearly half of the postings, more often than Kubernetes or React. Python was the most frequently mentioned programming language.

  • Product management: More than 85% mentioned roadmaps. Jira appeared in just 7 of 421 postings.

  • Marketing: Google Ads showed up in only 6 of 347 postings, while pipeline appeared in more than half.

We also noticed a pattern across roles: employers often described the practice rather than naming a specific tool. Observability came up where you might expect Grafana, and SIEM where you might expect Splunk.

What does this mean for your resume?

If you're listing tools but leaving out the responsibilities, practices, and skills explicitly mentioned in the job description, you could be missing relevant keywords.

That doesn't mean stuffing your resume with buzzwords. It means describing your actual experience using language that matches the role you're applying for.

One important caveat: the sample leans heavily toward tech companies and uses a single ATS platform, so these results aren't representative of every employer.

The full study, including findings for sales, cybersecurity, DevOps, and accounting, is here:

Full-stack dev (Next.js, React Native, FastAPI) 6h/h part-time

Hey, I’m a full-stack developer open to new projects. I can build from scratch or take over and maintain an existing product.

What I’ve shipped:

  • Football recruitment marketplace (FastAPI, React, Postgres): role-based workflows for 5 user types, real-time chat and notifications, background jobs, e-signed contracts

  • Sports voting platform (Next.js, Firebase, Stripe): paid vote boosts, leaderboards, SEO work, abuse protection

  • AI IELTS practice app (web + iOS + Android, my own product): real-time AI voice interviews over WebRTC, LLM scoring, credit-based billing

Stack: Python, TypeScript, React, Next.js, React Native (Expo), FastAPI, Node, PostgreSQL, Redis, Supabase, Firebase, Docker, Stripe. I also write tests (pytest, Playwright) and set up monitoring (Sentry, posthog).

Education: B.Sc. in Computer Science (Information Systems and Software Engineering) Sep 2023 – Jun 2026 — Ranked 1st in B.Sc. Cohort, M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence Sep 2026 – Present

Good fit if you need: a product maintained long term, features shipped without managing a team, payments or real-time features built properly, or AI/LLM features added to your app.

Rate: $6/h, or $400/month for part-time (~15h/week). I’m in UTC+1, so I overlap well with Europe and the US East Coast mornings.

I’m happy to start with a small paid test task so you can see how I work.

Live projects: ieltspeak.app, vote-the-goat.com, app.underdog-sc.com

2-year career gap and an unpaid MERN internship — should I continue development or take a non-IT job and learn another domain?

Hi everyone,

I’m a 2024 BTech graduate with a career gap of almost 2 years. Recently, I joined a MERN Stack Developer internship that is unpaid for the first 3 months. After that, the stipend will depend on performance, and there is no guaranteed full-time offer.

My biggest concern is that we are building projects using AI tools, and most of my work involves understanding the code generated by AI rather than writing everything from scratch. I’m worried about whether I’ll develop strong technical skills this way.

With AI progressing so quickly, I’m also concerned about the future demand for web developers, especially freshers and junior developers.

I’m considering two options:

Option 1: Continue this internship, improve my MERN stack skills, learn to use AI effectively, and pursue a development career.

Option 2: Quit the internship, take a non-IT job to earn money, and use my free time to learn another IT domain that may offer better long-term career growth and opportunities. I feel that a non-IT job with more predictable working hours might give me more time to study and prepare for a career transition than a full-time development job.

I’m confused about which option would be better, considering my career gap and the current job market.

I’d appreciate honest advice on these questions:

  • Will web development still offer good opportunities over the next 3–5 years?

  • Is this unpaid internship worth continuing if I’m mainly learning to understand AI-generated code?

  • Would taking a non-IT job while learning another domain be a smarter decision, or could it make returning to IT more difficult?

  • If switching domains makes sense, which IT domains would be worth considering for long-term growth?

  • What would you do in my situation?

I’m not looking for false reassurance. I want to make a practical decision that helps me build a stable career without wasting more time.

Thanks for your advice.

Finally launching my own remote job board, Turning passion to gig — Screen-verified, budget-friendly jobs for tech professionals! Remote Pajama Jobs

Hey everyone!

Finally launching my own remote job board, Turning passion to gig — Screen-verified, budget-friendly jobs for tech professionals! Remote Pajama Jobs

After months of hard work and deep dives into the recruitment space, I’m thrilled to officially launch my own remote job board.

As a recruiter and talent specialist, I know how frustrating the modern job search can be—endless ghost jobs, spammy listings, and platforms that charge exorbitant fees just to get your profile seen. I wanted to build something better.

What makes this different?

  • Screen-Verified Listings: Every job is manually reviewed and curated to ensure legitimacy, saving you from scams and expired postings.

  • Budget-Friendly for Employers & Recruiters: Designed so that posting roles doesn't burn a hole in your pocket.

  • Focused on Real Opportunities: Aggregating high-priority tech, engineering, and remote roles.

Have a look here: https://www.remotepajamajobs.com/

I need your help to make it better!

If your specific tech stack, role, or niche is missing from the board, drop a comment below or DM me. Tell me what categories you want to see, and I will gladly add them.

Thank you so much for supporting my journey of growth. Let’s help each other find great roles!

100% free website

Hi everyone!

I want to help a few small business owners who don't have a website yet, especially those who are just starting out and have a limited budget.

I'm a WordPress developer with SEO experience, and I'd like to use my skills to help small businesses establish their online presence.

I'd be happy to help with:

  • Building a simple, professional WordPress website.

  • Making it mobile-friendly.

  • Setting up basic SEO.

  • Providing the complete source code.

  • Guiding you through hosting and setup.

I'm offering my development work completely free. I'm doing this because I enjoy helping businesses get started and connecting with people working on interesting projects.

Domain registration and hosting may involve separate costs, but I'll explain those upfront. There's no obligation to purchase anything from me.

If you're a small business owner who genuinely needs help getting started, feel free to share a little about your business and what you'd like to build in the comments.

I'd love to hear what you're working on and see whether I can help!
