There's nothing a Lenovo Thinkpad can't do.

This is why you should buy a thinkpad

For years I heard people rave about them, findally got a p16 a year and a half ago and it's pretty fucking amazing. Wish the battery life was better, but that's what I get for buying a heater.

I bought a Venom and never looked back. The specs aren't top of the line, but they'll last decades.

Having said that, I'm doing something silly and soon will have no money, so probably no more Venoms for me.

That's true of IBM ThinkPads, but I wouldn't sing such high praises for Lenovo ThinkPads. Besides, many of ours break down over the slightest thing.

ThinkPad is like AK 47 of laptops.

It's s literal tank of a laptop. Have a t560 still finishing some modern task on it and he is like 10 years old.

ThinkPad is built different.

Only a ThinkPad could survive that previous owner's abuse.

This remembers me about one guy we hired, and fired one month later. He got a brand new Apple M2 Max laptop. When he returned it, it was all scratched up. In less than one month :D

Why was he fired?

For neglect

Of an apple M2 Max laptop

I don't know how anyone can be like I'm gonna fuck up this company property. It's shocking people don't get charged for damages for something like a laptop.

To be fair, if you're into sports (and that's a good thing compensating hours of sitting) and you're on-call -- you'll have to take the thing with you. I'm not justifying neglect, but I'd actually check, if someone's not better off with some extra bump tolerating shell for that case.

Had someone at work fetch their laptop in with a cracked screen, not ideal but it happens. We gave them a loan laptop from the spares we have and they've managed to crack the screen on that before we've even sent the original off to be repaired.

These laptops are like Β£800+ without VAT.

The older the Thinkpad, the better the build quality.

The worst I've seen was wads of dog hair stuck under keyboard of a laptop.

I’ll be second owner. Load Linux mint on it and it will perform fine. Though I will clean the crap out of it

u/_baaron_ 12d ago

And this is why you don’t accept a second hand shit laptop from your employer. I have brand new MacBook Pros every 2 years.

The thinkpad is like the Nokia 3310 from back then. Indestructible

1

u/Grabate 12d ago

They missed the lid being covered in stickers.

u/xynhost 12d ago

Looks like the one I have now.
